Technical Background The V157 Intake Flap Motor linkage may not travel far enough. The position sensor reads incorrect voltage readings, trigging the MIL illumination. Production Solution V157 Intake Flap Motor has been improved at the vendor. Service Check service history to make sure the improved part has not already been installed. If the improved V157 Intake Flap Motor has already been installed, contact the Technical Assistance Center (TAC) for further instructions. If the improved part has not already been installed: a. Run the VAS 5051/52 output check on the V157. b. Replace the V157 Intake Flap Motor (lower) with the improved part. c. Verify smooth operation of the Intake Manifold Runner Position Sensor G336 and Intake Manifold Position Sensor G512 arms. Page 2 of 5
