Passenger boarding bridge docked to a Boeing 737 PERFECT CONNECTION The folding canopies developed by HÜBNER can be adapted to a variety of aircraft body contours. They offer passengers optimum protection from environmental elements. Bumpers for a perfect sealing We can guarantee a perfect seal between the folding canopy and the body of the aircraft by using flexible bumpers made of a special foam. The special polymeric structure ensures soft cushioning in winter as well due to minimization of water absorption. The high flexibility of the reinforced plastic spring elements used in the bumper assure excellent sealing in use with smaller aircraft such as the EMB 145, larger planes such as the Boeing 747 as well as with the Airbus A 380. Kinematics the solution for all aircraft types A patented kinematic system makes it possible to dock the passenger boarding bridge precisely to a broad spectrum of aircraft types. The bridge seals perfectly against both the heavily rounded contours of smaller aircraft and the almost straight contours of jumbo jets. Improved strength of the kinematic system ensures that the bumper has an optimum sealing along the body of the aircraft. Drive mechanism HÜBNER canopies are available with a choice of 4 drive systems: manual drive, 24 V DC drive (for mobile passenger stairways), 120 V / 50 Hz drive, 230 V / 50 Hz drive. The canopy is driven by one central motor. All drive systems are constructed in a modular design which allows the motors to be simply and conveniently exchanged. The motors have been designed to hold up under extreme airport weather conditions, are equipped with a freewheel lock and are protected against overheating. The use of high-quality materials ensures extensive fire protection and certified quality. Translucent or coloured design Innovative coating procedures allow a whole range of different possibilities: instead of the usual functional but uninspiring grey design, folding canopies can now be manufactured from coloured or translucent material according to customer requirements.
