V-Contact VSC Contactors OPERATIVE MECHANISME ABB Power Technology - 4 - The Contactor with magnetic actuator is fitted with the mini MABS operating mechanism. The magnetic actuator - already widely used on the VM1 circuit-breakers - is now used for the first time on a contactor as well. It perfectly fits to a contactor: It has a linear and extremely precise stroke Power consumption extremely low compared to traditional solutions.

Type 1 between 24 and 60Vdc). To open the contactor it is enough to cut this input.(the operative mechanisme is always a bi-stable one, therefore: when the input is supplied the electronic discharge the energy stored in the capacitor in the closing coil and when the input is cut the electronic discharge the energy stored in the capacitor in the opening coil). Mechanical latching - a mechanical lock is actuated by the closing operation (up to 250VA to close the apparatus). To open the apparatus it is necessary to energize the opening coil (up to 75W) that unlock the system and allow the contactor to open due to the opening spring. V-Contact VSC Contactors REDUCTION IN OPERATING COSTS A contactor with magnetic actuator requires a constant power supply which consumes less than 5W continuously (VSC7 400A).
