Core Technology Mr Kevin Huang and his engineering team spread across China, USA, Japan and Australia has spent some 8 years developing and refining an advanced lithium-ion battery system which provides the following commercial advantages: Ability to propel a heavy vehicle such as an EBus 800 kms+ on a single electric charge; A no memory battery, so part recharge will not affect the storage capability of the battery; A Battery life of at least 5,000 cycles, more than the economic life of most cars; A Battery that can be recharged directly from the domestic electricity supply; A battery which is 70% recyclable; and, A battery whose manufacture involves very low environmental emissions.
Core Technology - Validation In November 2015, the Brighsun Team won the Guiness World Record for the greatest distance travelled on a single electric charge by an EBus (non-solar). The distance travelled was 1,018 kms. This prestigious award followed on from Australian forensic engineer certification of the City EBus (811 kms/single charge) and the Performance Touring EBus (1,014 kms/single charge).
Core Technology - Implications As the majority of cars travel no more than 300 kms per day and the majority of commercial vehicles less than 800 kms/day, the Brighsun EVehicle propulsion system will offer both consumers and commercial vehicle operators the choice of using an electric vehicle for the very first time. In the majority of cases, there will be no need for Hybrids or Range Extended Vehicles (REVs) for many consumers and commercial operators as a pure electric vehicle will do the daily distance required on a single electric charge.
Core Technology - Detail Intellectual Property Brighsun has its own propriety electric motor, advanced battery and electrical control system. Huzhou Brighsun Materials Ltd Technology Breakthrough Brighsun Full Electric Vehicle s Power System uses our in-house developed magnetic twin point direct current system. This system drives the motor, manages the system and regenerates energy from the vehicle itself. The electronic management system provides additional benefits such as easy charging, self repairing power systems and readily adaptable connections. The energy recycling aspect of Brighsun technology represents a major breakthrough in EV enhancement.

OUTLOOK Even after batteries have reached the end of their useful life in electric vehicles, there are still some valuable applications for which they can be used. Redeploying batteries has the benefit of enhancing the capital value and lifecycle performance of ageing EVs. It could also provide a valuable resource for managing energy grids.

OUTLOOK A change in the behaviour of a generation will have a big impact on transportation. For young people assessing their mobility options today, they will be more focused on the economics of being able to get from Point A to Point B with minimal environmental impact. Given the significance of the changes taking place around the world, it is likely that future electric transportation will not just be a cleaner version of what we know today.
