May cause death or serious injury Be Careful! May cause injury Others Additional information Installation rules No trampling Please follow the local building codes, installation rules and standards to ensure the SOLAR SPOT is appropriately installed, the corresponding rules are also applicable to other installation. The installer should be familiar with the mechanical and electrical requirement for solar system. Strictly follow the installation guides or electric shock, fire disaster or other serious injury may occur. Please read this guide carefully before installing or using SOLAR SPOT for your own safety. 3
A2 Safety Tips Danger! Electric Shock 4 The module produces direct current when absorbs solar energy, even if not connected with external circuit or loading. 4 To avoid being shocked or burnt when touching the module, we suggest using non-transparent materials to cover module completely so as to avoid the electric shock, as well as the insulating tools and rubber gloves. Danger! Electric Arc 4 The arc may cause fire when removing the wire which connected with the modules explored under the sun. 4 Do not disconnect the wire under loading condition. 4 Do not dirty the plug. 4 Make sure the connectors are well connected. 4 Do not connect the anode and cathode in short circuit. 4 Do not use the module with broken glass which may lead to electric shock when touching the glass surface or aluminum frame. Warn! Dropping 4 Watch out when working on the top or climbing u and down. 4 Make sure to follow the safety rules and use th appropriate fall arrest device. Watch out! Watch Out Hand Injury 4 Watch out your hand when installing the frames and parts. 4 Only trained installers are permitted to operate. 4 Use protective gloves! Pay attention! Pay attention to the inflammable goods. 4 Keep the module away from inflammable gas. Watch out! High Altitude Falling 4 Watch out high altitude falling when installing. 4 Set a dangerous area to segregate passers-by. 4
A3 Regulations The mechanical and electrical installation should follow the related codes, including electric codes, building ordinance as well as interconnected power demand. Rules are different as the installation site changes, so as the condition to the requirement, it would change as the system voltage or the current change. Please make sure the installation job meets the local construction requirements and installation inspection require as well. A4 Machinery Installation 4.1 Do not drill additional holes on the frame or the top of the glass, or it is out of warranty. 4.2 Electrical property of different modules should be identical in the same system. 4.3 Keep the carport in a well-ventilated place, it could help the module to produce the maximum power. 4.4 Do not disassemble the module or remove any parts. 4.5 Do not grab the wire or the junction box when carrying the module. 4.6 Do not connect the module with loading directly. 4.7 Do not try to congregate sunlight on the module by mirrors or lens. 4.8 Do not expose the back of the module to the sunlight. 4.9 Place the modules to the appropriate direction so that they could get the maximum solar energy. 5

C5 The Connection of Solar Modules Dangerous! Deadly High Voltage! Only authorized electrician can install the solar system. Operation Instruction of the grid connection and inverter is included in the Technical Instruction. Fuse and circuit breaker can be altered to that meet the system voltage and the maximum rated current of the module according to the local law and regulation. All the rated nominal of the electrical device should be greater than the system rated nominal. Voltage that higher than the maximum system voltage indicated on the data plated can not be applied. All the frame of the module should be earthed. Modules should be installed in the location where maximum light can be received and should not be blocked by the dust etc. Even partly shading will reduce the output of the module and system. Meanwhile, the temperature increase cause by the shading will reduce the output as well as the lifespan. During the production procedure of the modules, the bypass diode should be applied and blocking diode should be connected in series to avoid the back current when the modules or storage batterys are series connected. Normally, the maximum current and voltage of the modules may be higher than the rated value tested under the STC. Therefore, when confirming the accessories of the PV system, such as rated voltage, conductor capacity, fuse capacity, module power output and other relevant parameters, the short-circuit current and open-circuit current should be enlarged by 1.5 times. Under the Standard Test Condition (STC) of the module (irradiance 1000 watt/m 2, spectrum AM1.5, ambient temperature 25 ), the tolerance there will be ±10% between the electrical performance parameters, such as Isc, Voc and P max, and the nominal value. The cable and connector are provided in order to facilitate the series connection of the modules. There are two separated leads (a cathode and a anode) to connect with the junction box. The modules can be series connected by inserting the cathode joint of one module to the anode socket of the adjoining module. A looping-in cable is needed to connect the terminal of the cathode and anode of the module with the load. The hermaphrodite connector which is pre-connected into the cable may be used as a connector of the looping-in cable or the terminal connector of the source circuit. Do not install the module or do the wiring under the temperature of -5. Keep the junction box dry and mind the polarity. Detection 1. Check if the system is correctly connected by measuring th open circuit voltage. 2. Comparing the measure value with the rated value and th abnormal value shows the incorrect connection. Wire the modules according to the wire drawing. The instruction should be followed or the converter an module might be breakdown due to the incorrec connection. The diameter of the electric wire bending should no exceed the minimum bending diameter (5 times of th wire diameter) of the wire. C5-1 Wire Drawing of the Module A-A Sectional Drawing 19
C6 Ground Connection All the module frames and brackets should be correctly ground connected according to your nation s electrical code The correct method to ground connected is to connect the appropriate ground lead with the module and bracket. The ground lead can be copper, copper alloy or other materials that can be used for lead and meet the relevant nationa electrical code. Ground lead should be connected to the ground through the appropriate electrode. 20
D Cleaning and Maintenance Attention! Daily maintenance is not required. But the periodicity inspection should be done to ensure the accessories, including glass, junction box, aluminum alloy frame, are in good condition and that the interface are not loosened and corroded. The original accessories should be used when maintaining, otherwise, the modules may be damaged or cause human injury. Treading on the top of the carport is prohibited because slight scratch may lead to negative impact of the modules' power. Don t tread on the top of the carpot or slight scratch may lead to negative impact of the module s power. PV Equipment Annual Maintenance Rotproofness of all the safety device Connection safely, cleanness and rotproofness of the wire Integrality of the wire and the glass. Do not use cold water to clean the modules when the modules are at high temperature. Do not disconnect the modules when the carport are working Examine the bolts and the wire connection regularly. 21
