STEP 1. Connection of air supply hose to machine Blow-Out air supply hose prior to coupling with machine in order to remove all moisture, oils and dirt. Connect air hose to figure 6, compressed air inlet. STEP 2. Connect coupled blast hose to pinch hose, figure 1. STEP 3. Connect remote control air supply hose to control box. Connect the color coded twin line to the corresponding male connectors on the bottom of the control box, figure 2. Connect the opposite end of the dual line hose to the male connection of the dual line activator valve. Activator valve should be conveniently positioned near end of blast hose and held in place by coupling band. All connections must be absolutely tight because any compressed air leakage will impair machine s operation. STEP 4. To fill the machine with water and abrasive. Machine will use any type of abrasive or cleaning medium which sinks in water and is not water soluble. You must ADD WATER BEFORE ABRASIVE. Make sure the air inlet valve is closed, figure 5. Fill with 10 Gallons of water. To adjust abrasive supply. Loosen abrasive adjustment screw, figure 15. Make a scratch mark or use tape to mark where the pipe comes out of the nut at the top center of blast pot. Pull abrasive control lever, figure 11, upward until approximately 1/2 gap between the mark you made and the top of the nut. Said distance will actually vary depending on size of blast nozzle used, size and type of abrasive used. While outlet pipe is in the adjusted position, tighten abrasive adjustment screw and set lock nut thereon, which will lock the abrasive control lever setting. STEP 6. To adjust blast pressure. Tighten or loosen knob on the pressure regulator, figure 10. Use the chart below to get an idea of what pressure to use. The chart below contains approximate guidelines, experiment until you find the right blast distance and pressure. The closer the nozzle is to the blast surface, the smaller the blast pattern, the harsher the effect, and the faster a coating will be removed. Start far away and come in slowly to insure you don t cause damage to the substrate. MATERIAL FIBERGLASS BRICK METAL (AUTO) ALUMINUM STEEL BLAST PRESSURE 70 PSI 100 PSI 100-120 PSI 120-150 PSI 150 PSI BLAST DISTANCE 18-24 in. 18-24 in. 12-14 in. 12-20 in. 10-14 in. BLAST PATTERN Large Large Medium Medium-Large Medium 4

STEP 7. To begin the blast cleaning operation. Make sure the blowdown valve, figure 4, is closed. Re-open the air inlet valve, figure 5. Push in safety button and depress deadman lever. A second or two will pass before blasting begins. STEP 8. To stop the blast cleaning operation. Close the air inlet valve, figure 5, and open blowdown valve, figure 4. Said actions will shut-off compressed air to the machine, and release the air pressure from the machine. STEP 9. Blowing Out Blast Hose. Push rocker arm, figure 11, towards machine, which lowers outlet pipe to a seated position and permits only compressed air to be discharged from the blast nozzle. If excessive abrasive has crowded around the outlet pipe it may be hard to lock the abrasive lever. A twisting of the pipe, by means of swiveling the pinch valve, will permit the pipe to be lowered. MAINTENANCE READ CAREFULLY BEFORE OPERATING FOR A DIAGRAM OF YOUR MACHINE S PARTS PLEASE REFER TO THE DUSTLESS BLASTING ACADEMY AVAILABLE ONLINE. REFER TO RESOURCES PAGE (Page 8) TO BE DIRECTED TO THE WEB PAGE. MOISTURE TRAP ATTENTION Keep the drain plug on the Moisture Trap, figure 17, open slightly, allowing some air to be released. CONTROL BOX ATTENTION The control box has its own pressure regulator. This is already set properly from the factory, and should not be tampered with under normal circumstances. However, if it gets changed accidentally, make sure you readjust it to 90 PSI. VIBRATOR ATTENTION During blasting, the vibrator valve, figure 16, must be open. Adjust it so that you feel maximum vibration at the head of the machine. This will insure that all media gets shaken to the bottom of the tank. PROTECTION FOR INSIDE THE MACHINE No damage to the machine will occur by leaving water and media inside of it. However, if water is left in the machine longer than 24 hours it will begin to smell foul. For this reason, when the machine will not be in use for a long time, it is recommended that you remove water and media from machine either by blasting it out or by removing the bottom flange, air inlet jet, and gasket, figure 13 and allow it to drain. Refer to the user s manual for instructions on how to do this. CHANGE OF ABRASIVE FLOW - Assuming proper Installation, air pressure, and abrasive. Check media quality. Your machine is made to run with clean, high quality abrasive or media. Dirt will get muddy, clay will harden, etc. Check blast nozzle. If foreign matter should accidentally enter the machine, a stoppage can occur. Fully depressurize machine first! The air pressure gauge on machine is important and should be replaced when broken or inoperative, in order to sustain productive and profitable results. 5

COMPLIANCE OSHA regulations require remote controls (point of operations controls) on all blast machines. Basic manual control machines shown in this manual are for the convenience of customers having existing remote control systems and for selecting various remote control systems offered. PARKER VALVE MAINTENANCE It is time to service your parker valve when the shutoff time is longer than usual or the valve is not actuating properly. To service the Parker Valve (located in the control box), follow these steps: 1. Depressurize the machine. 2. Label each endcap left or right. 3. Remove the 2 (two) screws and set endcaps aside. 4. Remove piston. 5. Lightly lubricate piston with supplied grease or install new piston. 6. Install or replace any damaged gaskets or O-rings. 7. Re-install both endcaps. REFER TO RESOURCES PAGE (Page 8) TO ACCESS VIDEO INSTRUCTIONS OF MAINTENANCE. STORING MACHINE If leaving unit for extended period of time blast water and media out of machine OR Fully depressurize machine Remove 2 bolts from bottom flange of machine Remove 2 ears from bottom flange Push casting and air hose out of the way Remove air inlet jet (looks like a pilgrim hat) Remove gasket Flush out inside of equipment with water Once media and water are out of machine, reverse procedure: Put gasket on air inlet jet Insert air inlet jet and gasket Put casting up to bottom of machine Use ears and bolts to secure casting IT IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE OWNER/OPERATOR TO INSTALL A PRESSURE RELIEF VALVE. Every 10-15 hours rotate pinch hose and perform a physical inspection. Replace pinch hose when physical inspection reveals soft spots or weakness in hose. How to replace: Remove pinch hose Remove screws from each coupling Put couplings on new hose Screw screws into each coupling Replace pinch hose into pinch valve Visually and physically inspect blast hoses for any weak spots. Replace when necessary. Please call the manufacturer directly with any additional maintenance questions. 1-800-727-5707 support@dustlessblasting.com 6

PINCH HOSE REPLACEMENT GUIDE ROTATION AND INSPECTION OF HOSE: Every 10 hours of blasting, we recommend rotating the pinch hose. At this time a visual inspection should be performed to insure integrity. Look at and feel it carefully for signs of wear, softness, or bulges. Replace pinch hose before it fails. We recommend replacement after about 40 hours of use, or after you have rotated it 4 times. THE HOSE CAN BE POSITIONED IN FOUR WAYS: 1. Starting position 2. Rotate the hose 1800 3.Flip the hose around 4.Rotate the hose 1800 again Rotate Hose 1800 Flip Hose 1800 TO REMOVE BRASS COUPLINGS FROM OLD HOSE: 1. Lock hose in vice and remove screw using a head screwdriver or drill. 2. Unscrew the brass coupling from hose turning counter-clockwise. You may need a bar or rod to do this. TO ATTACH BRASS COUPLINGS TO NEW PINCH HOSE: 1. Wrap the end of the hose in several layers of friction tape, a little beyond the point the brass will cover. 2. Place coupling over friction tape and hose, screwing clockwise until hose end pushes against inside brass ridge of coupling. You may need a bar or rod to get it tight. 3. Wrap screws with Teflon tape and screw into designated holes until tight. REFER TO RESOURCES PAGE (Page 8) TO ACCESS VIDEO INSTRUCTIONS OF MAINTENANCE. 7
