Tools Suggested Set of hex wrenches, torx drivers, screwdrivers, small pick, vise grips, combination wrenches, socket set and ratchet, wire strippers. FIG. 1 Windscreen screws Strictly observe the following guidelines in order to use the product properly and avoid potentially dangerous accidents. As viewed from inner fairing Note: There are two different mounting procedures, please refer to the appropriate sections for your model of motorcycle. PIC. 1 Procedure for Electra Glide and Street Glide Models STEP 1 Read and understand all steps in the instructions before starting the installation. Park the motorcycle on a hard, level surface; turn off the ignition and allow the engine to cool. WARNING! YOU WILL BE WORKING AROUND THE ENGINE AND EXHAUST SYSTEM DURING. ENSURE THAT THE ENGINE AND EXHAUST SYSTEM HAVE FULLY COOLED TO PREVENT INJURY. ATTENTION! A factory service manual may be helpful in performing this installation. Do not attempt to perform this installation if you are not confident in your ability to complete all of the steps in the procedure; consult a trained technician. PIC. 2 Remove the turn signal connectors Avoid potential electrical shock! Disconnect the battery before starting this procedure. STEP 2 Remove the three torx screws securing the windscreen to the fairing; set them aside, they will be re-used later. See FIG. 1. Remove the screws securing turn signal bracket STEP 3 Remove the four torx screws securing the outer fairing to the inner fairing. See FIG. 1. Avoid damage to the motorcycle. Protect painted surfaces with a soft cloth or blanket. PIC. 3 ATTENTION! Assistance is recommended to secure the outer fairing after all of the torx screws have been removed to prevent damage. STEP 4 Unplug the headlight connector and gently set the outer fairing on a soft, sturdy surface. STEP 5 Locate and separate the right and left turn signal connectors. The connectors are located inside the fairing usually near the speakers. See PIC. 1. There will be one violet wire, one blue wire and one black wire coming out of the connector. STEP 6 Remove the screws securing the right turn signal bracket from the motorcycle as shown in PIC. 2 and remove the bracket. right bracket 2 left bracket

STEP 7 Refer to PIC. 3 to determine the right driving light bracket; route the wires through the notch. STEP 8 Place the knuckle on the bracket and start a.250-20 x.750 SHCS screw and a.250 flat washer as shown in PIC. 4. STEP 9 Insert the terminal sockets on the blue, violet and black wires into the 4-circuit plug from the hardware kit, refer to PIC. 5 for the location of the wires; close the secondary clasp once the wires have been inserted. PIC. 4 STEP 10 Determine whether.3125-18 x 2.50 or.3125-24 x 2.50 (course or fine thread) SBHCS screws are needed to mount the brackets to the motorcycle; mount the brackets to the motorcycle and secure with the proper screws and.3125 flat washers as shown in PIC. 6. STEP 11 Route the wires through the channel in the light bracket and into the fairing as shown in PIC. 7. Place a small amount of dielectric grease on the connector and plug it into the right turn signal harness that was disconnected in STEP 7. Start a screw and washer through the bracket to the knuckle STEP 12 Repeat STEP 6 through STEP 11 for the left side. PIC. 5 ATTENTION! Küryakyn recommends the use of dielectric grease on electrical connections. blue wire Installing the Switch STEP 13 Remove the screws (PIC. 8) on the sides of the fairing cap and set them aside for now. violet wire STEP 14 Insert the key in the switch and turn it to the unlock position (do not remove the key). STEP 15 Turn the handlebars to the lock position and then turn the knob to the fork lock position. STEP 16 Locate the release button on the bottom of the knob as shown in PIC. 9. STEP 17 Press the release button with a small screwdriver and simultaneously press down on the key and turn the key counter clockwise. STEP 18 Carefully remove the knob and spring, setting them aside for now. STEP 19 Remove the nut, metal collar and plastic spacer that are located below the ignition knob as shown in PIC. 10. STEP 20 Lightly lift up on the switch position plate to disengage the tabs and remove the plate. (PIC. 10) STEP 21 Gently remove the fairing cap from the motorcycle. STEP 22 Determine which empty auxiliary switch location you wish to mount the switch for the lights. STEP 23 Remove the two screws securing bracket on the backside of the fairing cap, where you choose to install the switch. (PIC. 11) STEP 24 With the bracket removed, gently pry on the metal tabs that secure the blank cover you choose to remove. (PIC. 12) black wire PIC. 6 PIC. 7 Secondary clasp STEP 25 Install the included switch housing as shown in PIC. 12. STEP 26 Reinstall the bracket to the fairing cap. 3

STEP 27 Remove the nut and washer on the toggle switch, insert the toggle from the bottom side of the switch housing and secure it with the nut and washer that were just removed. STEP 28 Locate the 24 black wire and 24 orange wire and 24 white Y wire from the hardware kit. STEP 29 Referring to PIC. 13, connect the female spade ends of the orange, black and white wires to the toggle switch; the orange wire goes to the power location, the black wire to the ground location and the white wire to the acc location. PIC. 8 STEP 30 Reinstall the fairing cap while routing the wires from the switch out towards the front of the fairing. STEP 31 Reinstall the screws that were removed in STEP 12 to secure the fairing cap. STEP 32 Reinstall the switch position plate that was removed in STEP 19. STEP 33 Reinstall the plastic spacer; metal collar and nut that were removed in STEP 18. Refer to PIC. 10. STEP 34 Tighten the nut to secure the spacer and collar, being careful not to over tighten it. STEP 35 Reinstall the key knob and spring, so that the knob is in the fork lock position; twist slightly so that the knob slides into position. Turn the key to the unlock position and remove the key. PIC. 9 Remove the screws on both sides of the fairing cap STEP 36 Turn the key knob to the off position ensuring that the knob turns properly. STEP 37 Place a small amount of grease on the male spades of the orange and black wires; insert them into the black and orange accessory wires off the headlight plug (orange to orange and black to black) refer to PIC. 14. STEP 38 Turn the ignition on and check to make sure that the running lights function and the turn signals operate. STEP 39 Flip the switch for the driving lights, ensuring that both are operating properly. STEP 40 Reconnect the headlight. Reinstall the outer fairing and secure it with the four stock screws that were removed in STEP 2, leave the screws finger tight for now. STEP 41 Install the windshield in the reverse order that it was removed. STEP 42 Tighten the screws that secure the fairing. STEP 43 Adjust the driving lights to the desired angle/position by loosening and retightening the screws that secure the lights to the brackets. STEP 44 Snap the driving light plugs into the holes on the side of the driving light brackets as shown in PIC. 15. ATTENTION! It is the installer s responsibility to ensure that all of the fasteners (including pre-assembled) are tightened before operation of the motorcycle. Küryakyn will not warranty components lost due to improper installation. STEP 45 Read and understand all steps in the instructions before starting the installation. Park the motorcycle on a hard, level surface; turn off the ignition and allow the engine to cool. 4

PIC. 12 Avoid potential electrical shock! Disconnect the battery before starting this procedure. Switch housing installed STEP 46 Remove the bottom fastener on the headlight trim ring, pull the bottom of the trim ring forward, then lift up to release the spring and remove the trim and rubber gasket. STEP 47 With a small vise grips, carefully remove the spring holding the light assembly in. Gently pry tab to release cover (STEP 47) STEP 48 With the spring removed, pull bottom of the light assembly out to remove the light from the motorcycle, disconnect the wiring harness from the headlight and set the light aside. PIC. 13 STEP 49 Disconnect the turn signal wiring harness (2 blue, 2 violet and 2 black wires) and the driving light harness (2 grey wires) as shown in PIC. 16. STEP 50 Remove the acorn nuts securing the driving light bar (PIC. 17) and carefully remove the light bar from the motorcycle. Connect the wires to the toggle switch Note: It may be helpful to have assistance to remove the light bar. STEP 51 Refer to PIC. 3 to determine the right driving light bracket; route the wires through the notch. STEP 52 Place the knuckle on the bracket and start a.250-20 x.750 SHCS screw and a.250 flat washer as shown in PIC. 4. STEP 53 Repeat STEP 51 and Step 52 for the left side. Accessory wires PIC. 14 Headlight plug STEP 54 Mount the light brackets on the sides of the forks and secure with.3125-18 hex jam nuts and.3125 flat washers from the hardware kit. Note: If the stud protrudes out of the mounting bracket, install the included spacers between the mounting bracket and the forks. Connect the orange wire to the orange and the black to black STEP 55 Insert the terminal sockets on the blue, violet and black wires into the 6-circuit plug from the hardware kit, working from each outside edge, insert a black wire, then violet, and then a blue wire, refer to PIC. 18 for the location of the wires; close the secondary clasp once the wires have been fully inserted. PIC. 15 STEP 56 Route the wires from the lights along the fork, under the front cover and up into the headlight housing area as shown in PIC. 19. ATTENTION! Secure all wiring away from any moving parts, pinch points or extreme heat. Küryakyn WILL NOT warranty any electrical component that fails due to pinched, crimped, broken, abraded, melted or frayed wires. Snap the driving light plugs into the bracket STEP 57 Place the a T-Tap connector over each of the grey diving light wires inside the headlight housing (PIC. 16) and close them ensuring that the tab is engaged as shown in PIC. 20. 5

STEP 58 Insert each of the white wires from the driving lights into a T-Tap mating connector and crimp the connector to secure the wire as shown in PIC 21. STEP 59 Place a small amount of dielectric grease on the mating connectors and install them on the T-Taps that were installed on the grey wires. PIC. 16 STEP 60 Connect the turn signal harness to the harness inside the headlight housing that was disconnected in STEP 49. STEP 61 Secure the excess wires in the housing with the included cable ties. STEP 62 Reinstall the headlight housing, holding it at a slight angle insert the tabs in place and secure with the spring that was removed in STEP 47. STEP 63 Reinstall the trim ring and secure with the screw that was removed in STEP 46. Install the T-Tap connectors on the grey wires (STEP 57) Disconnect the driving light harness Disconnect the turn signal harness STEP 64 Adjust the driving lights to the desired angle/position by loosening and retightening the screws that secure the lights to the brackets. STEP 65 Snap the driving light plugs into the holes on the side of the driving light brackets as shown in PIC. 15. PIC. 18 secondary clasp PIC. 17 ATTENTION! Küryakyn will not warranty components lost due to improper installation. Periodic maintenance may be required. PIC. 20 Remove the acorn nuts securing the light bar PIC. 19 Ride On! Install the T-Tap over the grey wires Route wires along forks and into the headlight housing PIC. 21 Crimp the ends of the white wire in the mating connecter 6

Procedure STEP 1 Read and understand all steps in the instructions before starting the installation. Park the motorcycle on a hard, level surface; turn off the ignition and allow the engine to cool. STEP 2 As shown in PIC 1, remove the Button Head Cap Screw Located at the bottom of the light housing. STEP 3 Remove the light bezel by twisting the bezel counter clockwise and pulling the bezel outward. STEP 4 Remove the rubber inner seal from the chrome light housing. The glass light housing should now be free. NOTE Please note the orientation of the locating ring. This will greatly help when reassembling the lights. Refer to PIC 3. STEP 5 Pull the glass housing out away from the chrome housing and disconnect the wires (PIC 2). STEP 6 As shown in PIC 3, remove the 4 screws to gain access to the light bulb. STEP 7 Pull the light bulb from the mount with the white wire attached. STEP 8 Insert the white wire through the mount from the front side. (The wire should fit through the rubber boot on the backside of the PIC. 1 mount) STEP 9 Reassemble the glass housing and the chrome housing in the reverse order it was disassembled. ATTENTION! It is the installer s responsibility to ensure that all of the fasteners (including preassembled) are tightened before operation of the motorcycle.
