The short stroke gas piston operating system allows the gun to run clean and cool, resulting in less wear and tear on the rifle along with a reduced cleaning time. The adjustable gas regulator easily allows the AUG to be reliably operated either suppressed or un-suppressed. With the quick-change barrel design, various barrel lengths of 16, 18, 20 or 24 can be quickly swapped out to accomplish any mission. AVAILABLE FOR CL II 3-POSITION SAFETY WHEEL COCKING INDICATOR SAFE BOLT SYSTEM (SBS) The patented Safe Bolt System (SBS) has a unique 2+1 safety that is operated by a wheel switch on the tang of the stock. In addition to the 3-position safety wheel, the SBS bolt has four locking lugs that must be rotated 60 degrees in order to unlock the bolt, as well as multiple gas ports. A patented safety bushing guarantees a shooter s protection against unexpected, excessive chamber pressure and any escaping gases. Steyr has tested the bushing with high-pressure proof rounds of 120,000 PSI without any damage occurring. STEYR FEATURES Special grooves are machined into the bolt that guarantees reliable rifle operation, even under extreme environmental conditions. The large bolt head design locks directly behind the cartridge case into the receiver. The bolt handle also locks into the receiver. The weapon can be loaded and unloaded in the Safe Position. The trigger is locked, preventing unintentional firing. Just before firing, roll the silent safety wheel forward into Fire Position. A button on the safety wheel prevents it from rolling back unintentionally while in the Locking Position. The firing pin and bolt are both locked. MANNOX FINISH AVAILABLE FOR SM12 The detachable 2-stage magazine allows you to close the bolt with an empty chamber without removing the magazine from the rifle. 2-STAGE MAGAZINE Our Mannox Finish prevents wear and corrosion of the outer metal parts. It is completely impenetrable to rain, moisture, sweat and blood, and the surface is designed with non-reflective properties to help conceal the shooter s position. HAND COCKING SYSTEM COMBI TRIGGER DIRECT TRIGGER SET TRIGGER In the Safe Position, the firing pin is decocked. In the Fire Position, the firing pin is cocked and ready to fire. The optional Bolt Lock prevents unintentional opening of the breech lock if the rifle is decocked. The light direct trigger has approx 1.5 pound pull weight and can be configured into an adjustable set trigger. It decocks automatically when put in safe position. AVAILABLE FOR SM12 This direct trigger system is individually adjustable with factory settings at approx. 2.6 pound pull weight.
