Respond promptly and smartly to whatever the road throws at you. ibuzz FATIGUE ALERT This clever assistant system evaluates data from the power steering sensors to detect any driver fatigue behaviour. In such cases, the colour Maxi DOT display warns the driver to take a break. SAFE HAPPENS In extreme situations, where the driver cannot actively influence the outcome, the car s passive safety elements take over like the airbags. Hands free parking minimises the hassle of parking in tight spots by automatically selecting an appropriate parking place in a row of parallel or perpendicularly parked vehicles. REAR-VIEW CAMERA Enjoy easier parking by equipping your car with the rear-view camera located on the handle of the 5 th door. It monitors the space behind the car and indicates driving lanes, based on the vehicle width. AFS (ADAPTIVE FRONTLIGHT SYSTEM) The system is automatically activated by the light sensors, which switch the headlights on in low light conditions. The AFS headlight control system changes the geometry of the light beam, adapting the light pattern on the road to different driving situations like: Load,Steering angle, Rain and Speed.The AFS optimises illumination and enhances safety by enabling quicker response to obstacles. It gradually shifts the light patterns so that it does not disturb the driver. CORNERING FOG LAMPS This function switches on the right or left fog light separately - depending on the steering angle or by switching on the turn signal lights for the relevant side. Corner function is incorporated in the front fog lamps. They illuminate blind spots created by dark areas around the corners by lighting the space the car is about to turn into. This improves visibility for the driver without dazzling oncoming obstacles. ENGINE The Octavia features its third generation petrol engine in two variants, designed exclusively for the new MQB platform. A 4-cylinder, 1.4 TSI/110 kw, and a powerhouse 1.8 TSI/132 kw petrol engine. These engines aren t just lighter and fuelefficient, but also reduce CO2 emissions.
