Dear Golf Cart Sponsor, As organizers of Main Street Marketplace, we accept and respect the important role MSMP plays on tourism, economic development, community building along with all the other great things that come from presenting an extravagant event in the heart of Northwest Connecticut s largest city. For example, our local soup kitchen raised thousands of dollars last summer through the small donations they solicited each night from their 10 x 10 tent on Main Street, or the shared experience both parents and kids enjoy riding up and down Main Street together on our Marketplace Express train. We are showcasing the city of Torrington in a way that no other event can. MSMP is about making hometown memories, magical moments for our attendees that grow into long lasting impressions. 2018 About MSMP MARKETPLACE Northwest Connecticut s Premiere Summertime Event! Main Street Marketplace will take place in downtown Torrington, CT on Wednesday evenings from 5 p.m. - 9 p.m. starting July 11th and running through August 1st, 2018. Each night, MSMP draws over 3,000 attendees. Families, singles, people of all ages converge and energize downtown Torrington creating an electric atmosphere, set against the quarter mile backdrop of a beautiful New England city draped in turn of the century architecture. MSMP draws crowds from all over our state and gives us an opportunity to showcase the beautiful city of Torrington, What s New for 2018? Building on our last two successful years, we will not only meet, but we will exceed your expectations! You will see more diverse vendors, expanded food options, additional seating areas, improved communication to the crowds, and the biggest change is moving the event to Wednesday to accommodate a Thursday raindate. We are still in the planning stages so there will be more improvements to be announced. Traditions Continue... The Marketplace Express train continues to be a HUGE success and It will be back each night in 2018, along with Grand Marshals. A Salute to Our Armed Forces, our opening night theme returns with a Military Fly-Over, The Big Idaho Potato will be back as well as Motor Cars on Main Street our pop-up auto museum. The very popular MSMP Arena will return as the official MSMP food court, with seating over 100 attendees. Music will continue to play an intergral role at MSMP with LIVE bands and a DJ, all designed to make each night a magical experience.
