REASON FOR THIS SAFETY RECALL NHTSA and Takata have determined that the prpellant in certain Takata airbag inflatrs can experience an alteratin ver time with expsure t certain climate cnditins. A cmbinatin f time, high temperature fluctuatins, and humidity cntribute t the degradatin f the prpellant in the inflatrs. This degradatin can cause the prpellant t burn t quickly, creating high pressure inside the inflatr, and in extreme cases causing the inflatr t rupture in the event f a crash necessitating airbag deplyment.
