Brief description T24 21 500 m 3 Chemical and Oil Product Tanker GENERAL The FKAB T24-series are 21 000 m 3 tankers for Chemicals (IMO II) and Oil Products, they are designed for low fuel consumption and high cargo capacity in an ECA area trade. The hull form is designed for good performance in harsh weather conditions. FKAB T24A Slightly longer, narrower and deeper for optimum fuel economy FKAB T24B Shorter, wider and low draught FKAB T24C Canal restrictions and less draught The difference lies only in the main particulars, your trade will choose version. The complete cargo piping system in stainless steel and the cargo tanks coated with MarineLine. Six cargo segregations are possible and give also a possibility to carry heavy chemicals of a density up to 1.54 tonnes/m 3. The vessel is equipped with a low speed engine with low fuel oil consumption allowing a large propeller with high propulsion efficiency. Main fuel is LNG with fuel tanks on deck and MGO as backup and pilot-fuel. The tanker is however designed to be additionally equipped for using FO, both as main fuel or only as pilot fuel. The vessel is designed for good ice performance with Finnish/Swedish Ice Class 1A. Fitted with a retractable bow thruster for maneuverability and Take me home propulsion. 2

T24 21 500 m 3 Chemical and Oil Product Tanker General: The vessel to be a Tanker for Chemicals and Oil Products of ship type 2. The vessel is designed to be a gas fuelled chemical and product tanker. Fuel to be used is primary NG (natural gas) with fuel oil as pilot fuel and backup fuel. As an option the vessel could be equipped to be used with normal fuel oils, i.e. IFO380. The low speed Main Engine is capable of running on LNG and fuel oil, both MGO and IFO 380 sct. LNG tanks for fuel to be located on upper deck according to GA. Cargo: The vessel is divided in forepeak, bow thrusters room, 2 x 6 tanks for cargo, 2 slop tanks and 2 x 6 wing tanks with DB tanks for WB, engine room, tanks for FO to be arranged in engine room, after peak with steering gear room. Cargo Handling system: The cargo control station to be located on the bridge. The cargo handling system will be segregated in six (6) grades of cargoes. Each pump in cargo tanks, slop and drain tanks to be mounted in a suction well made of stainless steel and supplied by the pump manufacture. Six (6) cargo pumps to be operated simultaneously inclusive two hydraulic driven ballast pumps.the cargo pumps, slop and drain tank pumps are hydraulically driven. Steam to be used as heating media in the primary system and a pressurized hot water system to be used in the secondary system. Heating of cargo from 44 C to 66 C in 96 hours with outdoor temperature of -20 C and sea water temperature of -20C. Maintaining cargo tank temperature at 70 C with a seawater temperature of -2 C and air temperature of -20 C. 4
Propeller One 4-blade highly skewed CPP propeller made of Ni-Al-Bronze, 85 rpm at nominal load and to be of low noise type. Propeller diameter about 5,8 m.the propeller and propeller shaft to be designed for maximum power of 5 100 kw. The propeller to be integrated with the rudder to a hydrodynamic efficient unit, type PROMAS or similar. The design and harmonization between propeller and rudder to be performed by towing tank or testing facility, for energy optimization. Main Engine: Main engine shall be two stroke, single acting, direct/injection, reversible diesel engine equipped with exhaust gas turbocharger. Technical data for Main Engine No. of units: One (1) Make: MAN B&W 6G45ME-C9.5 or similar Output: approx. 5 000 kw at MCR at 90 rpm Shaft generator One (1) main engine driven Shaft Generator of, 440 Volt 60 Hz shall be installed with capacity of 1000 kw as PTO The shaft generator shall be a brushless permanent magnetic synchronous machine, connected to the net by a frequency converter allowing the propeller to have variable speed from idling to full rpm in PTO mode and in PTI mode from zero to full rpm. The shaft generator is to run continuously in parallel with the other generators onboard. The generator shall also be used as an electric motor (PTI) in case of failure of the main engine, then with a capacity of 1 600 kw in 70 100% of full rpm. Crew: 7 cabins for officers,8 cabins for ables, 1 double cabin for cadets,1 spare single bed, 1 Pilot bed Others: The rudder to be double plated, all welded, streamlined and balanced of semi spade type. The rudder is to be of high efficiency type without any flap.the rudder to be integrated with the propeller to a hydrodynamic efficient unit, type PROMAS or similar. Hydraulic low pressure driven mooring winches with declutchable double split mooring drums, band brake and one fixed warping end to be installed in accordance with the GA plan. Capacity of 12 ton and hoisting speed 10 m/min. Mooring drum size dimensioned for a mooring rope breaking load of 50 tonnes and 220 m length.four (4) store drums located at poop deck aft and in forecastle. 5
