The pamphlet form of Ordinance No. 449, including the: Ordinance and a cover sheet thereof: was prepared, and a copy of such Ordinance was posted in the municipal building, commencing on July 6, 2007 and continuing for at least ten days thereafter. ORDINANCE NO. 449 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 417, AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE OPERATION OF GOLF CARTS ON VILLAGE OF GREENUP STREETS WHEREAS, the Village of Greenup, Illinois has passed and approved Ordinance No. 417, an Ordinance Authorizing the Operation of Golf Carts on Village of Greenup Streets; and: WHEREAS, the Village Board of Trustees for the Village of Greenup, Illinois, has considered the volume, speed and character of traffic on the streets of the Village of Greenup, Illinois; and, WHEREAS, after careful consideration, Village Board of Trustees for the Village of Greenup, Illinois, deems it to be reasonable and necessary and in the best interest of the Village of Greenup, Illinois to amend Ordinance Na. 417 as provided for herein. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY ORDAINED BY THE VILLAGE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF GREENUP, CUMBERLAND COUNTY, ILLINOIS, THAT: Section 1: The Village hereby adopts the findings made in the prefatory portion of this Ordinance. Section 2: Subparagraph 5. of Paragraph B. of the Village of Greenup, Illinois, Ordinance No. 417 is hereby amended as follows: "5. Must be equipped with seatbelts, windshield, horn, brakes, turn signals, a steering wheel apparatus, tires, a rearview minor, an approved slow moving vehicle emblem on the rear of the golf cart, a headlight that emits a white light visible from a distance of 500 feet to the front, a tad lamp that emits a red light visible from at least 100 feet from the rear, break lights, and tum signals. When operated on a roadway, a golf cart shall have its headlight and tail lamp-s lighted. (625 ILCS 5/11-1428)." Section 3: Except as specifically modified by this Ordinance, the remaining Provisions of Ordinance No. 417 shall remain in full force and effect. Section 4: This Ordinance shall become effective upon its approval and passage as required by law.
