MF 6850/6855; Ideal 9080/9090 Ag Leader Technology Installing Monitor Parts required for procedure: (1) (1) Window bracket (1) U-bracket (2) Knob Step-by-Step Procedure NOTE: In humid conditions, run air conditioner to remove moisture from cab before attempting to install monitor bracket. 1. Determine mounting position for window bracket before removing peel-off strips from back of bracket. Attach to window bracket if necessary. 2. Using a clean towel, clean window where bracket will be installed. Be sure to clean an area larger than window bracket. 3. Using (1) of the provided alcohol swab packets, thoroughly clean window where bracket will be installed. 4. Using another clean towel, wipe window again before alcohol dries. 5. Repeat steps (3 & 4) with another alcohol packet and towel to ensure window is clean. 6. Remove peel-off strips from back of window bracket. Be careful not to touch adhesive surface. 7. Position window bracket over cleaned area of glass and firmly press against glass. 8. Remove from window bracket and continue to press bracket against window to ensure entire strips of adhesive are bonded to glass. 9. Reattach to window bracket. 4 December 2005 Rev N/C

MF 6850/6855; Ideal 9080/9090 Installing Cab, Distribution & Power Cables Parts required for procedure: (1) Cab cable (1) Distribution cable (1) Power cable Step-by-Step Procedure 1. Connect rectangular D-shaped 25-pin connector of cab cable to mating connector of. IMPORTANT: Never use force to mate electrical connectors. If connectors do not mate easily, they are not aligned properly. 2. Route opposite end of cab cable underneath cab. 3. Mate 24-pin plug connector of cab cable with 24-pin receptacle of distribution cable. 4. Connect power cable to distribution cable. Only one connector of distribution cable will mate with power cable, so it is not possible to connect it improperly. 5. Route power cable to battery. Connect ring terminal of red, fused wire to positive terminal of battery. Connect ring terminal of black wire to negative terminal of battery. PN: 2005300-13 December 2005 Rev N/C 5

MF 6850/6855; Ideal 9080/9090 Ag Leader Technology Installing Ground Speed Cable Parts required for procedure: (1) Ground speed sensor (1) Ground speed cable Cable ties Step-by Step Procedure NOTE: A ground speed sensor must be retrofitted to combine before ground speed cable can be installed. 1. Install provided magnetic collar assembly and sensor on final drive shaft on right side of machine as shown in Figure 3. Clearance between sensor and magnetic collar assembly should be 1/16-inch. Mount header sensor to sheet metal skirting on left side of cab as shown in Figure 4. Sensor should be mounted so that cable is pointing toward rear of machine. Header Sensor Figure 4. Attach chain of threaded rod assembly to feeder house by drilling a hole and installing a 5/16-inch cap screw. 4. Route cable of header sensor to mating connector of distribution. Remove access panel from top of clean grain elevator. 2. Refer to Figure 5. MF 6850/6855; Ideal 9080/9090 3. Refer to Figures 5 & 6. Install deflector plate and mounting bar. Deflect or Mounting Bar Adjust for 1 cm (1/2 ) Paddle Clearance Deflect or Plate Figure 6. Elevator deflector installed 4. Advance conveyor chain until a paddle is directly above sprocket. Adjust top shaft until clearance between tip of paddle and deflector plate is approximately 1 cm (~1/2-inch). It may be necessary to disconnect conveyor chain to allow enough upward travel. Conveyor chain will be reconnected when lower adjuster is installed in next section. 5. Install Do Not Adjust! Use Lower Adjuster! decal near adjustment for top shaft. Use provided alcohol swabs to clean surface. 6. Install flow sensor as shown in Figure 5. 7. Connect flow sensor cable to flow sensor and route other end to mating connector of distribution cable. MF 6850/6855; Ideal 9080/9090 Ag Leader Technology Installing Lower Elevator Adjuster IMPORTANT: A slide adjuster must be installed at lower end of clean grain elevator, so top shaft of elevator can remain in a fixed position. Weight calibration will change if top shaft is adjusted. IMPORTANT: If elevator chain and top drive sprocket have several years of use, it is a good idea to install new parts. If these parts are changed at a later date, it may affect accuracy. Parts required for procedure: (1) Lower adjuster assembly (1) Drill template (2) Spacer plate (1 with large center hole, 1 with small center hole) (1) Bearing (1) Offset link Step-by-Step Procedure 1. Remove bearing from clean grain auger shaft and install metal drill template as shown in Figure 7 using carriage bolts that secured bearing flange. Drill (4) Corner H oles- 13/32 -F ile Square Figure 7. Drill template installed on lower boot 2. Drill (4) corner holes in lower boot using provided 13/32-inch drill bit. Leave template installed while drilling. 12 December 2005 Rev N/C

MF 6850/6855; Ideal 9080/9090 3. File holes to match square holes of template using provided file as shown in Figure 8. Figure 8. Filing holes square (elevator shown is not MF or Ideal) 4. Remove template and install spacer plate (rectangular plate that has a large round hole, 5-inch diameter) on side of elevator boot using (4) lower adjuster bolts. Install blocking plate (rectangular plate that has small round hole, 2-1/2- inch diameter) over top of spacer plate previously installed. 5. Install lower adjuster over top of spacer plates. 6. Install new bearing that has been provided in kit. 7. With lower adjuster installed, reconnect conveyor chain if it was disconnected in previous section. It may be necessary to add offset links in order to reconnect chain. PN: 2005300-13 December 2005 Rev N/C 13

MF 6850/6855; Ideal 9080/9090 Ag Leader Technology 8. Move auger shaft to its fully up and down positions to verify there is adequate clearance between auger flighting and auger tube. If flighting hits auger tube, trim outer edge of flighting until there is adequate clearance. 9. With the weight of cross auger shaft resting on conveyor chain, tighten lower adjuster bolts. MF 6850/6855; Ideal 9080/9090 Installing Elevator Mount Unit (EMU) Parts required for procedure: (1) Elevator mount unit (EMU) Step-by-Step Procedure 1. Disassemble plastic spacer block from EMU housing. 2. Position spacer block on side of clean grain elevator. Align back edge of spacer block with back edge of elevator. 3. Carefully trace around inlet and outlet holes using a permanent marker. Use provided 9/32-inch drill bit to mark locations for (5) mounting holes. 4. Extend opening of inlet hole to 8-inch so outline of cutouts on elevator matches cavity on back of spacer as shown in Figure 10. IMPORTANT: Extending dimensions of inlet hole is critical for operation of EMU. IMPORTANT: Before continuing to next step, ensure locations for marked holes will not interfere with center divider of elevator. Long rectangular hole should be on up side of elevator and 5-sided hole should be on down side of elevator. 5. Drill 1/2-inch holes in all corners of inlet and outlet holes. MF 6850/6855; Ideal 9080/9090 Ag Leader Technology 6. Cut inlet and outlet holes using an appropriate cutting tool. Stay inside marked lines. 7. File edges of holes to remove burrs or sharp edges that may wear chain paddles or prevent clean mounting of EMU. 8. Install external tooth lock washers on (5) 1/4 x 1-3/4-inch pan head screws and insert into mounting holes from inside elevator and install hex nuts outside elevator as shown in Figure 11. Figure 11. MF 6850/6855; Ideal 9080/9090 Ag Leader Technology Installing Moisture Sensor Parts required for procedure: (1) Moisture sensor with integral cable (1) Moisture sensor cover (attached to EMU) Step-by-Step Procedure 1. Remove (1) sheet metal screw that attaches aluminum plate to plastic housing of moisture sensor. Install ground terminal strap of moisture sensor on screw as shown in Figure 13. Attached Ground Strap Figure 13. Moisture sensor 2. Feed moisture sensor cable through hole in top of moisture sensor cover from enclosed side out as shown in Figure 13. 3. Slip aluminum housing of moisture sensor into holder until all (4) holes in aluminum housing line up with (4) holes in holder. 4. Install (4) #8 x 3/8-inch self-tapping screws through holes in moisture sensor holder into aluminum plate of moisture sensor. 5. Install moisture sensor to EMU housing by engaging tab on bottom of moisture sensor holder with tab on side of main housing, tilting sensor upward to insert sensor blade into grain cavity, and securing holder with wing nut provided. 6. Route moisture sensor cable to mating connector of distribution cable. 7. Install and route EMU power cable to battery. Connect fused wire to positive terminal and other wire to negative terminal of battery. 18 December 2005 Rev N/C

Excess cable has been tied out of way, to avoid interference All tools have been removed from combine. All fasteners are tight PN: 2005300-13 December 2005 Rev N/C 19

MF 6850/6855; Ideal 9080/9090 Ag Leader Technology Operational Checkout for Step-by-Step Procedure Refer to the Display Items section in the Operation Section for instructions on how to display different items on the screen. 1. Start engine. 2. Turn monitor power switch ON and verify that monitor turns on properly. A field and load should be displayed at top of screen. 3. Display Elevator Speed on screen. a. Verify elevator RPM stays at zero with separator and header OFF. b. Engage separator and verify monitor measures elevator RPM. It should be about 400 RPM at full engine speed. 4. Display Ground Speed on screen. a. Ground speed should register zero with combine at rest. b. Move combine slowly. Monitor should register MPH value at low speeds (below 1 MPH). c. Engage separator with combine at rest and verify monitor reads 0.0 MPH. 5. Display Head Height on screen. a. Raise and lower header. Header height value should increase and decrease respectively. 6. Display Temp on screen and verify there is a temperature reading. The temperature may be off slightly because it has not been calibrated.
