Setting up your Nomad II Compressor Your Nomad II comes pre-set to operate from an 110V outlet. Should you choose to use the unit with a 220V outlet, complete the following steps. 1) The cover must be removed. Before removing, make sure the compressor is not connected to an active electrical outlet. Start by removing each of the 12 phillips head screws, with a phillips head screwdriver turning them counter-clockwise (fig. 1). 1 2) Carefully lift the cover off of the unit, taking extra care not to disconnect any of the wiring that is attached to the ON/OFF and POWER/RESET switches or the LOAD gauge (fig. 2) 2 3) Locate the adjustment window on the power converter (fig. 3a). It will be located behind wires, take care not to dislodge or disconnect any of the wires while adjusting. Using an allen key, move the switch to the right. This will select the 220V input power setting (fig. 3b). 3a 3b 4) Replace the cover on the unit, and reinstall the 12 phillips head screws (fig. 4) 5) Attach the hose and output filter to the compressor via the female quick disconnect fitting. The end with the filter should be closest to the compressor (see image for proper configuration) - (fig. 5). 4 4 5

Operation Instruction: 110V or 220V outlet 1) Plug the power cord into the Nomad II (fig. 1). DO NOT plug the three prong connector into an active wall outlet yet. 1 2) Plug the 110V three prong connector into your wall outlet (fig. 2). Once plugged in, the fan on the power converter will turn on. The compressor fans and LOAD gauge will not come on yet. (fig. 2). 3a 3) Replace each foot with the extension by turning them clockwise (fig. 3a).until they are tight against the bottom of the unit. (fig. 3b). 3b 9

Lubricating your Nomad II Compressor Locate the lubrication hole on the left hand side of the unit. Using the included oil applicator bottle, apply 2-3 drops of silicone oil every 5 fills or 1.5 hours of use (whichever comes first). The LOAD gauge on the top of the Nomad II can also be used to determine oil application intervals. If the LOAD gauge reaches 28 during operation, it is necessary to apply silicone oil. The Nomad II will automatically shut off if the LOAD gauge exceeds 29. IMPORTANT: Use only silicone oil to lubricate the compressor. The use of any other oil/lubricant is not recommended and may void your warranty. Output Air Filter Replacement NOTE: It is recommended that you replace the Air Filter every 2-3 hours of use. Should you require extra Air Filters, they can be purchased through Air Venturi. (216-220-1180). 1) Remove the filter and hose assembly from the compressor unit by pulling back the collar on the female quick disconnect fitting and pulling the filter away from the compressor (fig. 1). 2) Find the seam in the filter housing (fig. 2.1), twist the large half counter-clockwise, unscrewing it until the unit separates (fig. 2.2). 3) Locate the cartridge filter inside of the large half of the filter housing (fig 3.1). Remove it with tweezers or by puncturing it with an allen key and pulling it out of the housing (fig. 3.2). 4) Once the used filter is removed, replace it with a new cartridge filter by pressing the new filter into the large half of the housing (fig. 4). 5) Reassemble the filter housing by screwing the small and large halves together, turning the large half clockwise until it is hand tight (fig. 5). 6) Re-attach the female quick disconnect to the compressor by pulling back on the collar on the female while pressing it onto the male fitting. Make sure the collar is in the forward/locked position before attempting to run the compressor. 1 2.1 2.2 3.1 3.2 4 5 10

Purging the Lubrication System Every 20 fills it is important to purge the Nomad II of excess silicone oil and moisture. Once you have completed the 20th fill with your Nomad II, before opening the Pressure Release Valve, locate the Moisture Release Valve on the underside of the unit. Turn the Moisture Release Valve counter-clockwise to purge the system. (fig. 1) 1! IMPORTANT AIR AND / OR LIQUID MAY BE RELEASED AT HIGH VELOCITY. IMPORTANT Basic Maintenance Maintenance should be performed at the following times: 1) If oil has been added recently and the LOAD gauge still reads 28 or higher. 2) If fill times increase without any signs of leaking. 3) Once every 20-30 fills. Turn on the Nomad II compressor and open the Moisture Release Valve on the underside of the unit by turning the knurled screw counter-clockwise. Add 2-3 drops of silicone oil into the lubrication hole repeatedly in 30 second intervals, six times. (That s a total of 12-18 drops over 2:30-3 minutes). Once complete, allow the compressor to run for another 3-5 minutes with the Moisture Release Valve open to allow the lubricant to circulate in the system. When finished, turn the compressor off and close the Moisture Release Valve by turning the knurled screw clockwise until tight.! IMPORTANT FAILURE TO PERFORM BASIC MAINTENANCE AS DETAILED ABOVE WILL VOID YOUR WARRANTY. 11

Troubleshooting Issue - Compressor will not start - Resolution - Make sure power converter is plugged into a functional electrical outlet and make sure power converter is properly plugged into the compressor. If using a 12V battery, make sure the jumper cables are properly connected as detailed in the instructions. Issue - Compressor is not building pressure - Resolution - Make sure the moisture release valve and the pressure release valve are closed. They should be hand tightened. If release valves are closed and the compressor is still not building pressure, contact Air Venturi by calling: 216-220-1180. Issue - Compressor shuts off before reaching desired pressure. - Resolution - Make sure the Output Pressure Dial (Auto Shut Off) is set properly. Issue - Burst disc failure - Resolution - Should the burst disc fail during use of the compressor, depress the ON/OFF button and make sure the compressor has stopped. Open the Pressure Release Valve to let the remaining air vent from the compressor. Once you have verified the burst disc has failed (there will be a hole in it) by removing the burst disc retention screw (pictured right), remove the broken burst disc from the unit. You will find additional burst discs in the bag of spare parts that comes with the compressor. Install a new burst disc, and re-insert the burst disc retention screw by turning clockwise.
