Sulphur dioxide is an intermediate product that CCC Sulphur Products creates as part of the manufacturing process for Sulphuric acid our primary business. As a member of the Chemistry Industry Association of Canada (CIAC), CCC Sulphur Products embraces the guiding principles of Responsible Care, a set of initiatives to ensure safe handling of chemicals throughout the value chain and to deal with public concerns over chemicals and their impact on the world we live in. CCC Sulphur Products is committed to the global Responsible Care requirement for reducing emissions and employee injury as well as eliminating all product related incidents in manufacturing, storage, handling, transportation and disposal. There are no feasible alternatives at this time to eliminate or reduce the amount of Sulphur dioxide used in the process of manufacturing Sulphuric acid. Suitable alternatives, substitutions or process modifications are not possible as the manufacture of Sulphuric Acid is the primary business of CCC Sulphur Products. The intent is to grow the business in order to meet customer demands while ensuring environmental impact reduction is an ongoing effort. CCC Sulphur Products will continue to monitor technological advancements and market conditions to ensure that options that are both technically and economically feasible are implemented at this facility. CCC Sulphur Products is committed to taking every practical precaution towards ensuring that its products and operations do not present an unacceptable level of risk to its employees, customers, the public or the environment. As part of this commitment, onsite recycling and reuse of Sulphuric Acid is managed to minimize waste. All air emissions and water discharges are monitored and managed by suitable environmental programs and employees are thoroughly trained in the safe use and handling of Sulphur dioxide. Statement of Intent: Sulphur dioxide is used to manufacture Sulphuric acid, the final product that CCC Sulphur Products manufactures for sale as its primary business. There are no intents to eliminate or reduce the amount produced and future volumes are expected to increase in order to grow the business to meet customer demands. Environmental impact reduction will be an ongoing effort at CCC Sulphur Products, and we will continue to monitor technological advancements and market conditions to ensure that options that are both technically and economically feasible are implemented at this facility. Objectives: CCC Sulphur Products is committed to taking every practical precaution towards ensuring that its products and operations do not present an unacceptable level of risk to its employees, customers, the public or the environment. CCC Sulphur Products is also committed to providing a safe and healthy workplace. CCC Sulphur Products will comply with or exceed the requirements of all environmental and occupational health and safety legislation; correct promptly any environmental or health and safety issues; to continually improve and reduce emissions and injury; and to take proactive measures to avoid future incidents. The target for Sulphuric Acid production is to achieve 100% plant capacity in order to continue to meet our customer demands. Our target for emission control is to meet all the air emission limits for Sulphur Dioxide set out in our Certificate of Approval (air) Number 3068 7UTLR7.
