PRO-4 MODIFIEDS 2017 RULES 1. CAGES / CHASSIS a. Fabricated Chassis only. b. Minimum 1 1/2" Diameter.095 wall tubing. c. Must be 4-post cage with a minimum of 3 U-shaped door bars on drivers side; door plates recommended. d. Front and rear hoops required - Under slung Chassis OK. e. Rear bumpers must extend past tips of spoiler, in order to be pushed from race track by a tow truck. f. If bumpers not strong enough to lift car, must have access through rear deck for lifting point on frame. g. Double front bumper, with minimum of (1) up right support allowed, lower bar to be parallel with frame,.063 min. h. Must have hoop protecting fuel cell I. Must have drive line hoop minimum of 6 from front u-joint constructed of 1 x 1/4 strap minimum. 2. WEIGHT SPECIFICATIONS a. 2000 cc or less - minimum of 1800 lbs. b. 2300 cc - minimum of 1900 lbs. c. Left side weight must not exceed 58% of cars total weight. No exceptions. d. All weight added to car must be painted white with car # and be securely mounted to or within frame rails, with 1/2" bolt or larger. e. Cars may be scaled at anytime. f. Weight infractions must be addressed prior to entering race track, at tech's discretion. g. Nissan / Toyota minimum 2100 lbs. Max. 2400 cc. g. All cars with aluminum heads must add an additional 50 lbs to it's base weight... located at the same level as heads, at middle of motor (front to rear.) (Ex: 1900 lb car must weight 1950.) 3. BODIES: (must resemble a full size IMCA type modified) a. Windshield can be lexan, mesh screen, or three (3) 3/8 minimum vertical bars. b. Full windshield OK - rear windows permitted. * TRANSPONDER LOCATION must be mounted 10 feet from front bumper, +/- 1". The transponder must be in place prior to inspection and must remain in working condition for the rest of the event. 1.

4. ENGINE a. Any 4-cylinder in-line single overhead cam engine. 1. 2300 cc Max (long rods OK- No Stroker); Maximum.040 overbore. 2. 2 valves per cylinder. b. 12" maximum engine set back +/- 1/2" measured from center of lower ball joint to #1 spark plug. c. No dry sump oiling systems. All cars with aluminum heads must add an additional 50 lbs to it's base weight... located at the same level as heads, at middle of motor (front to rear.) 5. EXHAUST a. Must exit car away from the driver and 6" behind drivers seat. b. Must meet 90 DBA at 100 feet or track specifications. 6. CARBURETORS AND IGNITION SYSTEMS a. Holly 4412 500 2-BBL only. "GO" No Go" gauge will be used. b. Two return springs mandatory; must be mounted separately. c. Any intake allowed. d. Battery must be securely mounted outside of the drivers compartment, must have master kill switch within reach of the driver. e. NO CRANK TRIGGER ignitions allowed. 7. COOLING SYSTEM a. Radiator must be mounted in front of the engine. b. 1 qt. overflow required. c. NO antifreeze; water wetter OK, and recommended. 8. DRIVE TRAIN a. 8" or 9" rear ends OK Floaters, Quick Changes OK. Any carrier. b. Any stock production transmission, NO RACING TRANSMISSION. c. Steel or aluminum drivelines OK, must be painted white. d. Must have working clutch; any fly wheel is permitted. e. Scatter shields highly recommended. f. NO ELECTRONIC TRACTION ENHANCING DEVICES. 3.
9. SUSPENSION a. Any Stock or aftermarket components. b. Shocks - NO CANISTER TYPES, No shocks with external adjustment on any kind. c. NO spring rods. d. NO BUMP STOPS will be permitted. 10. BRAKES AND STEERING a. All four wheels must have functioning brakes if running locker or DPI. b. Any stock or aftermarket Rack and Pinion OK - steering shaft locks recommend. c. May run single rear brake if running spool. 11. WHEELS AND TIRES a. Any steel racing wheel -- 13 X 8" wheels MAX. b. Good Year 22 x 13 / 23 x 13 (2017 only) c. American Racer J10KC (short); JLVKS (tall) d. No aluminum wheels. e. NO TIRE SOFTENER - Min Durometer 62 cold 70' F or below. 12. FUEL AND FUEL SYSTEM a. Fuel cell must be of Polyethylene with a 20 gauge steel cover. b. Fuel cell must be securely mounted behind the rear end. c. Fuel cell must have vent and a tip over valve. d. Murphy switch required with electronic fuel pump, must be functional. e. Fuel cap must be legibly marked with the cars number and strapped to fuel cell. f. Max. 110 octane fuel - NO ADDITIVES - RACE GAS or E85 ONLY. 13. SAFETY a. Aluminum high back seats must be mounted with minimum four (4) 3/8" bolts with flat washers: 2 bolts bottom and 2 bolts back of seat (head,shoulder,rib and leg supports are recommended). b. 3" 5-point harnesses required - Installed per manufactures instructions. Where belts pass through the seat or any metal, they must be protected from being cut. Belts can not be more than 5 years old, they cannot be frayed or torn and must be labeled with SFI factory tag and dated. c. SFI rated fire suit, shoes and SFI gloves required, NO MECHANIC GLOVES must be clean and in good condition - fire proof underwear, socks recommended, no rips, holes or soiled in oil or other chemicals. d. Snell 2010 will be required or better helmet, full face shields recommended, Goggles required with open face helmets (NO MOTORCYCLE HELMETS!!!!!!) 4.
e. Neck collars and other safety harnesses such as a head and neck restraint system is recommended. Under age of 18 required. f. Full window net required on driver's side including roadsters. Full window net required on driver's side; must be tight when buckled. Roadsters right side net is recommended. Must not be more then 5 years of age and must be securely fastened and operational per manufacture's instructions. NO plastic fasteners or pop rivets allowed for primary attachment. g. If running a car without a roof, arm restraints are MANDATORY and must be worn properly, hands must not reach outside the roll cage. h. 2 1/2 lb min, fire bottle securely mounted within the drivers reach required, no zip ties. Fire suppression system recommended. i. Drivers compartment must be completely sealed from the track and engine. j. A mirror, either a rear view or one mounted to the side is recommended and may be made mandatory for any one driver or the entire field at the Promoters and Officials discretion. k. Race receivers are mandatory, NO radio or any other communication to the driver will be allowed, including wireless devices. 14. All safety infractions must be addressed and properly fixed as per tech inspection. 15. All performance enhancing infractions must be fixed or car will be penalized. 16. Any discretion in the interpretation of a rule may be brought to the attention of the Pro-4 Promoter and Officials. Any difference can be discussed. Promoter and Officials reserve the right to either adjust their initial interpretation or uphold the original decision. 5.
C OMPETITION ETIQUETTE 1. No Reckless Driving - Intentionally driving in a way to cause damage to another competitor(s) car driving beyond your and /or your car's abilities. 2. NO Blocking a. Failure to pass a slower car in a timely manner that results in holding up the rest of the field. This rule applies to staying next to a slower car when you are capable of passing, it does not apply to side by side racing between evenly matched cars. b. Driving tactics that prohibits a faster car from passing. 1. Failure to lift the throttle when your car has a push. 2. Failure to give a challenging car racing room. 3. Not holding your line when you are being lapped. 3. NO Aggressive Contact - These are open wheel race cars, treat them as such. Intentional contact beyond that which is competitive racing will not be tolerated. Failure to adhere will result in the following: 1 st Offense - Written letter, placed on probation. 2nd Offense - Disqualification from the race, a loss of all points money. 3rd Offense - Will be asked to resign from the racing division. **If a wreck is result of this type of driving, the above mentioned actions will be taken plus you will be docked 25 points and or fined. If you cause a second wreck at any point in the same season, you will be suspended for 5 races or the remainder of the season, whichever is greater. TRACK ETIQUETTE 1. Pit meetings are mandatory, failure to attend will result in starting at the rear of all the nights events. 2. Absolutely NO FIGHTING, (which includes detrimental threats made towards a fellow race member or their crew) will be tolerated at the track. 3. No speeding in the pits. There will be a $100 fine imposed for anyone driving fast and / or reckless in the pit area. This will double with the 2nd offense. In the event which there is a 3rd offense the fine will be increase to $500 and a one race suspension. 4. The Pro-4's are a traveling series, therefore you will also abide by the rules imposed by those facilities in regards to conduct and on track officiating. 6.
