Important Information about Composite Hoses GENERAL DESIGN A composite hose is a multi-layer arrangement of various layers from polypropylene, polyethylene and polyester films as well as polypropylene fabrics, a weather-proof and abrasion resistant outer cover from polymeric coated polyester fabric, wrapped together and tensioned between internal and external wire spirals. For increased UV, ozone, sunlight and weathering resistance the outer cover is also available in a special Hypalon coated fabric, which offers superior temperature and abrasion characteristics. This enables our product to maintain extreme flexibility with tremendous strength and durability. A wide variety of connection fittings from various materials is available, which are exclusively factory mounted by external swaging to guarantee safe mechanical connection and absolute impermeability! HOSE LENGTH A characteristic of composite hose is elongation. Therefore this effect cannot be used as a sole assessment criterion for the condition of the hose. For applications where length in use is critical, this data needs to be advised already with the inquiry! The "hose length" is defined as the overall length (=OAL) including the end fittings. OAL measurements are taken from flange face to flange face, seat to seat, end of threads to end of threads, etc. For factory-new hose assemblies lengths tolerances between +5% and -2% of the OAL apply. Please note that by nature a composite hose is very flexible and there will be a "spring effect" due to the reinforcing double wire helix. When the hose has been tightly coiled for shipment reasons, a temporary shrinkage of at least 5% has to be considered! g:\katalog aktuell\schiffsausrüstung\marine schläuche\composite hoses\important information.doc

STANDARDS Our Composite hose assemblies are independently tested and comply with relevant international standards, such as EN 13765:2003, BS 5842:1980, CE Directive 97/23 PED and NAHAD guidelines 600/2005! The MARINE series hoses furthermore are type-approved and manufactured according to 2:12 and 5:7 of the IMO Chemical Carrier Code. Generally all our hose assemblies are fitted with an extensive range of couplings readily available, externally swaged with stainless steel or carbon steel ferrules. SAFETY AND TESTS For safety and reliability, assemblies are tested at 1½ times the rated working pressure, in accordance with EN ISO 1402. The securing ferrule at one end of each hose is permanently marked by embossing, stating manufacturer s name, nominal bore, serial number and the test date. Full test certification can be supplied, if requested with the order. Burst pressure indicated is tested at ambient temperature in accordance with EN ISO 1402. Vacuum of 0,9 bar is rated according to the EN ISO 7233 Method B. Electrical continuity is achieved by the two wires bonded to the end fittings, this helps dissipate accumulated charge and to avoid static flash. A special conductive swaging seal is used to guarantee that the hose is electrically continuous through both the inner and outer helices. The electric resistance of hose assemblies is less than 10 Ω, as required by EN ISO 8031. On request special electrical discontinuous hose assemblies can be supplied also! Strictly observe the installation and handling instructions at the end of this chapter! Even when choice, storage and installation are carried out correctly, regular maintenance is necessary. Frequency of the latter is determined by use. g:\katalog aktuell\schiffsausrüstung\marine schläuche\composite hoses\important information.doc

INSTALLATION AND USE Prior to installation it is necessary to check the characteristics of the hose carefully to ensure that type, diameter and length conform to the requirements. Moreover a visual check must be carried out to ensure that there are no obstructions, cuts, damaged cover or any other evident imperfections. When installing hose assemblies, careful attention should be paid to minimum bend radius specifications. Hoses must be correctly supported during use. A characteristic of composite hoses is their flexibility! Therefore the supports should be arranged so that the hoses are never bent beyond the minimum bend radius. Supports have to be appropriate: never use a single rope, chain or wire! But use slings, saddles wide enough to spread the load sufficiently so that the hose is not deformed in the area of support. Flanged hose assemblies should have one end secured with a floating flange to avoid torsion! Hose assemblies must not be twisted either on installation or in use! Hose assemblies subject to movement while operating should be installed in such a way that flexing occurs in the same plane. Although the hoses are manufactured to guarantee exceptional resistance to abrasion, it is advisable to move them with care, avoiding knocks, dragging over abrasive surfaces or crushing. Furthermore, hoses must not be pulled violently when twisted or knotted. Please refer to the overleaf table! The life of a hose depends on a number of possibly prejudicial factors. Consequently, the end user must carry out periodic preventive maintenance, above all when the conditions of use foresee high pressure service and/or conveyance of aggressive materials. In any case, when you note any indication of possible reduced performance, the product should be replaced or checked carefully at least. The following recommendations are the minimum to which the user must adhere. TRACTION: Do not use hose in tension (FIG. 1). Let it form a small bow TORSION: Hose is not manufactured to work in torsion(fig.3). During installation it is essential to ensure that the hose is not twisted. Let it follow an ideal lay-line (FIG.4). BENDING RADIUS: Installation tighter than the minimum bending radius reduces the life of the hose considerably. Moreover it is necessary to avoid bending close to the end fittings (FIG 5 & 6). INSTALLATION: The hoses must be supported to allow normal movement when under pressure (dimensional variations). Do not rest hose on sharp edges (FIG.7 & 7b). Take adequate precautions (FIG.8 & 8b). Do not support hoses with ropes or chains (FIG.9). Flexible hose-supports or polyester slings are recommended (FIG.10). During regular checks, special attention must be paid to couplings and to the appearance of irregularities which can indicate deterioration of the hose. NEVER weld reduction couplings or flanges onto original hose fittings! NEVER close or hold the coupling ferrules in a bench vice as they could be deformed. If necessary, hold the hose itself, closing the vice onto the outside spirals of the hose. We recommend in any case that the hoses be checked and pressure-tested at least once a year. g:\katalog aktuell\schiffsausrüstung\marine schläuche\composite hoses\important information.doc

CLEANING AFTER USE The appropriate method of cleaning depends upon service, location and hose type. In most situations flushing out is adequate, common fluids are e.g. clean water, hot water, sea water, detergents and solvents at ambient temperature. To minimize corrosion the hose must be well drained and dried after cleaning, if seawater has been used. Care must be taken that the maximum temperature of the hose is not exceeded. Steam lances shall not be used! Compressed air may be used on open ended polypropylene lined hoses, but is not recommended on PTFE lined hoses. Polypropylene hoses can be cleaned with loose steam (i.e. at <1 Bar and < 99 C), provided that no lances or jet nozzles are used! PTFE lined hoses can be cleaned even at temperatures up to max. 160 C. Because the PTFE lining is much more delicate than Polypropylene, do not apply steam pressure > 1 bar with this type of hoses, in order to not compromise integrity of the inner layer. Mechanical methods of cleaning (e.g. pigging or scraping) shall never be used at all. It is important that the hose is electrically earthed during cleaning operations to avoid generation of static charge. STORAGE After service, hose assemblies shall be flushed out and dried as described above. Afterwards the hoses shall be stored off the ground in a relaxed condition free from tension, compression or other deformation, protected from sun-, UV- and heat radiation as well as from contact with objects that could pierce or cut. It has to be protected from rodents and insects. When such a risk is probable, appropriate precautions must be taken. REPAIR Depending on the overall condition of the hose assembly, it is possible to repair hoses that have been damaged during service. Repairing of composite hoses requires specialist knowledge therefore we please ask to consult our technical department or an authorised distributor. Composite Cryogenic hoses CRYOTEC 660 / 661 CRYOTEC hoses are designed for use with cryogenic products at temperatures down to -200 C and pressures up to 25 bar. This hose series has been designed around multilayers of polyamide fabrics and films, polyester films, reinforced with inner and outer wire spirals in 316 Stainless Steel. Additional Polyester fabrics and specific bi-oriented polypropylene films are provided to guarantee flexibility even at -200 C, ensuring the assemblies better performances than other hose types or loading arms, when accommodating for vessel movements during transfer operation. CRYOTEC hose design includes FEP extruded tubular and Mylar films. According to EN 13766:2010 they are manufactured in two types: Type 1 for LPG and Type 2 for LNG, each type is subdivided in two classes, one for onshore use (Class A) and one for offshore use (Class B). For transport LPG or LNG gases it is standard economic practice liquefying them either by means of pressure or refrigeration. Hoses for this application must be ductile at low temperatures. CRYOTEC hoses for liquid gas transfer form an important part of the extensive range on non-metallic flexible hoses offered by the division of Matec group. The hoses are certified by DNV as complying the requirements of CE Directive 97/23 PED and are made to comply the requirements of EN13766; Paragraphs 5:4 and 5:7 of the IMO Gas Carrier Code, and 5:3 and 5:7 of the IMO Chemical Carrier Code. CRYOTEC hoses meet EN, CE, PED standards, U.S. Coast Guard requirements, are DNV approved. ATEX certification acc. Directive 94/EC is available on request. ADVANTAGES Superior thermal performance Up to 5 times better thermal performance than competing insulation products Reduced thickness and profile Equal thermal resistance at a fraction of the thickness Zero Permeability due to integral vapour barrier Prevents ice formation on outer diameter Physically robust Soft and flexible but with excellent elastic recovery, Nanogel recovers its thermal performance even after compression Eliminates expansion joints because the hose remains flexible even at cryogenic temperatures Environmental safe Landfill disposable, shot-free, with no respirable fibre content Flexible hoses are usually uninsulated due to severe stresses of cycling between ambient and LNG (- 175 C) temperatures. This can result in heavy ice formation during operation, and dangerous ice falls during the subsequent warm up. CRYOTEC hoses insulated with Cryogel Z are impervious to cryogenic cycling. g:\katalog aktuell\schiffsausrüstung\marine schläuche\composite hoses\cryotec 600 + 661.docx 15.11.16 Tedimex GmbH Talweg 11 D-21218 Seevetal

DRAINTEC SUPERFLEX Hinge Joint Draining System This system was designed to innovatively provide a better solution to floating roof drainage problems. It combines both the flexibility of composite and hose systems with the strength found in rigid pipe/swivel join systems. Basically it is a steel pipe drain system with angular flexible joints that withstand an extremely wide range of service conditions. DRAINTEC HINGE SYSTEM offers Long Maintenance-Free Service and effectively provides positive roof drainage with maintenance-free and worry-free operation. This results in extended service life with no hose kinking or clogging and no stress loading on O-rings, bearings or seals. Instead of costly swivels, this system employs unique flexible joints in a straight-line design, with no offsets to cause unbalanced loading. The DRAINTEC HINGE SYSTEM is easily installed in a fixed position, requiring a minimal operating area. With a designed continuous slope, the Hinge does not allow sediment to become trapped in the system. It is designed for submerged service with no lubrication required and there are no corrosion freeze-ups. All components are compatible with 100% aromatic products and can withstand high design pressures. Advantages of DRAINTEC HINGE SYSTEM compared to traditional swivel joint systems: straight-line design - no offsets to cause unbalanced loading no O-rings, bearings or seals no moving parts to lubricate designed for submerged service no flow restrictions load stress transferred across joint, not through it easy installation Advantages of DRAINTEC HINGE SYSTEM compared to Hose Drain Systems: continuous slope design - no sediment traps small operating area - no tank layout required, minimizing downtime fixed position - no damage due to interference 100% aromatic resistant components higher design pressure no kinking or collapsing no dragging or scraping action across tank bottom no ballast needed Other Advantages: ease of design and installation no measuring of roof legs other internals required prior to design immediate delivery of system components reducing tank downtime minimal field welding required for system installation no piping required on underneath of floating roof flexible joints can be used for internal floating suctions Roof Drain Systems can be designed for dual use with Fire Fighting Foam Delivery g:\katalog aktuell\schiffsausrüstung\marine schläuche\composite hoses\draintec.doc 15.11.2016

Construction Features: The DRAINTEC HINGE flexible joint is composed from inner and outer stainless steel wire helixes (maintaining rigidity under internal or external pressures), multiple inner layers of polar and non-polar thermoplastic materials (preventing product permeation through the hose, even from such products as MTBE) and outer layers from antistatic woven fabric (protecting the inner hose materials). Its high design pressure also makes the system suitable for use with fire fighting foam delivery systems. The design uses stainless steel and PTFE bushings and spacers to eliminate jamming and ensure flexibility so no lubrication is required. The reinforced side plates transfer the load around the flexible hose, eliminate stress on the hose end connections and thus minimize the possibility of hose end failure. These side plates are available carbon steel (galvanized or prime coated) and stainless steel materials in diameters from 2 to 12. Composite hoses EXILITE EXILITE is the lightest composite hose actually available on the market - light, but yet robust and durable. This type is abrasion resistant because of its external wire coated with a thick layer of black polymeric material. This new revolutionary multi-layer thermoplastic hose is manufactured from multiple layers of polypropylene, polyethylene and polyester films as well as polypropylene fabrics, covered with a weather- and abrasion-proof outer skin. All the different layers are wrapped together and tensioned between internal and external wire spirals. This enables our product to meet the requirement of the oil tank truck industry. Outer cover is also available in ELASTAR, a special PU coated fabric, offering increased UV-, ozone-, sunlight- and weathering-resistance, as well as superior temperature and abrasion characteristics. EXILITE EXTRA-LIGHTWEIGHT HYDROCARBON SUCTION & DISCHARGE HOSE - EN 13765:2010 TYPE 2 Applications: EXILITE hoses are typically used in low pressure transfer from road and rail tanker, for loading and unloading, storage tank and general in plant use. Conveyance includes light distillates such as petrol, diesel, paraffin, kerosene, gasoline, but the hoses can also be used for bio-diesel and aviation fuels. Where an exceptionally low hose weight is indicated, EXILITE is the answer. Inner wire is made in a special high tensile aluminium alloy, while for the external wire a special black antistatic PP coated aluminium alloy wire is used. This results in the lightest hose available on the market, which though is still robust and strong, thanks to the highest technology involved in manufacturing process. Being significantly lighter than other similar hoses of same diameter predestines EXILITE particularly for petrol forecourt deliveries. Another advantage of the coated external wire is that the hose has a full NON METALLIC property outside, therefore 100% spark-free and will not besmear or damage the truck s body paints. EXILITE hose is available in three versions: EXILITE PP : with both, inner and outer Black Antistatic PP coated wires. EXILITE AP : Inner Aluminium Alloy and Outer PP Black antistatic coated wire EXILITE PA : Inner PP Black antistatic coated wire and Outer Aluminium wire. Composite hoses ABRATEC 400 ABRATEC 400 is specifically designed as a universal hose for suction and discharge of a wide variety of abrasive liquids, as e.g. industrial sludge, as well as solids, like powders, cereals, plastic granules, chips! This multi-layer thermoplastic hose is designed around several POLYURETHANE liners, supported by a special abrasion resistant Martensitic high chrome stainless steel inner wire and a weather- and abrasion proof outer cover made of polymeric coated polyester fabric. The outer cover is also available in ELASTAR, a special PU coated fabric with superior UV-, ozone-, sunlight- and weathering-resistance, combined with superior temperature and abrasion characteristics. All the different layers are wrapped together and tensioned between internal and external wire spirals. ABRATEC 400 hoses are used for rail and road tanker loading and unloading, storage tanks, silo and in-plant handling. For that purpose they are extremely flexible, easy to handle and bend. A typical application is the handling of COAL WATER SLURRY FUEL, (CWS or CWSF), a new type of fuel which consist of fine particles of coal suspended in water. The main advantage of this new type of fuel, it can be handled equivalent to liquid fuel or heating oil in place of oil and gas in heating and power plants but reduces harmful emission to the atmosphere. In addition, by converting the coal in to a liquid form, delivery and dispensing of the fuel can be simplified. Usually it consists of 55 to 70% of coal particles and 30 to 45% of water. The particles typically need to be less than 20 micrometres in diameter. This means that the CWS is particularly abrasive and a special composite hose is necessary to guarantee the right performance. ABRATEC 400 is manufactured according to the requirements specified by the European Standards EN 13765:2010 Type 3 (BS 5842:1980) and in accordance with the recommendations of NAHAD Guidelines (NAHAD 600/2005). ABRATEC 400 hoses are 100% antistatic and can be used for suction or discharge. The electric resistance of hose assemblies is less than 1 Ω/m, as required by EN ISO 8031:2009, 4.7. Electrical continuity is achieved by the two wires bonded to the end fittings, conducting accumulated charge and avoiding static flash. g:\katalog aktuell\schiffsausrüstung\marine schläuche\composite hoses\abratec 400.docx 15.11.2016

Accessories for Composite hoses Anti-Abrasion Collar and Hose Suspension Saddle A new, revolutionary product that: protects hoses against abrasion provides improved hose handling improves safety Abrasion Prevention: The innovative design of the Scuffrings prevents damage by abrasion; hose contact with the ground or foreign objects is minimized. Improved Hose Handling: The Scuffrings can be used to lift or move the hose thereby greatly reducing the risk of hose damage due to excess bending, kinking or cutting. Improved Safety: It is reliably ensured that the minimum bend radius is not undershot. Additionally, by using Scuffrings will prevent the hose from kinking or otherwise becoming compromised and so helps extending and prolonging the life of the hose. Employment of Scuffrings as hoist support avoids inappropriate lifting, which can be very dangerous and easily causes leakages. Patented Design & Installation: Scuffrings are produced in two different types of materials: Rigid polyurethane foam, yellow colour Polyurethane elastomer in red colour The anti-abrasion Scuffrings, manufactured as two halves, are made of abrasion and shock resistant polyurethane. The two halves can be easily assembled on-site using the stainless steel bolts and nuts provided with the assembly kit. Simply place Scuffrings at the desired interval on the hose and then tighten the bolts. Applications: Dock hose, suction hose, vapour recovery hose or any size hose from 3 through 12 I.D. Scuffrings supplied with yellow CE labelled slings. Slings are tested to 3.000 kg at a safety factor of 7:1. Prolong hose life & increase safety!
