Bhosale Sameeksha S. Neve Urmila K. Koktare Prof. Kirti. doni ssistant Professor bstract Three phase motor is part of many applications. These motors are widely used in industrial and agriculture area. Traditionally these are either controlled by user manually where protections are mostly not taken care or may be done using isolated unit. In industry, induction motors are used in hazardous area where human presence might be risky. Motor protection and control unit by wireless media unit don t require any special consideration while operating. Once user gives Command/instructions, by android application via Wi-Fi then unit automatically turns motor ON/OFF. This unit will have great application for industrial motor interface where maintenance operators need frequent access for motor status and control. lso the majority of Indian population is engaged in agriculture and lives in villages. The key issues faced by an average farmer with irrigation water pumps is water wastage, travelling long distances through difficult terrains just to operate the pumps, encountering snakes and other dangers creatures en-route erratic power supply, motor/starter damage and fuel. Thus, the Motor protection and control unit by wireless media provides a solution for these problems. New Wi-Fi technologies are coming with wider coverage, which can be used for agriculture application. Keywords: Wi-Fi, Renesas Controller, Three Phase Induction Motor, Three Phase Power Supply, Dry Run Sensor, Current Transformer I. INTRODUCTION Three phase motors are widely used in industries. In industry, induction motors are used in hazardous area and controlled by user manually where human presence might be risky. Hence, the system is designed such that motor can be operated from remote location where user gives Command/instructions, by android application via Wi-Fi to unit which automatically turns the motor ON/OFF. Motor protection and control unit by wireless media has a great significance and it will be widely used in industries. India is an agricultural country. The 85 % of people are engaged in farming. The economic system of India depends on agriculture. Farmers face several problems while doing farming like uneven power supply, natural disaster, rain in balancing and water supply etc. There is problem to supply water, during night time because of travelling long distances through difficult terrains just to operate the pumps. Thus, the Motor protection and control unit by wireless media provides a solution for these problems. New Wi-Fi technologies are coming with wider coverage, which can be used for agriculture application. The features of this project are as follows: There is no need of man presence on that specific field. The proposed system protects and controls the motor from dry run, phase failure, phase reversal, over voltage and current protection.motor protection and control unit by wireless media is developed for automation of system.the sensing circuit checks the presence and absence of main three phase supply voltage and current. Thus "Motor Protection and control unit by wireless media" which is fully wireless system is proposed in this paper. II. LITERTURE SURVEY s this is current issues related to water supply and electricity most of the researchers are attracted to this topic. Some of the reviews are given below: Shreya Kudalkar [1] proposed the motor controller which manually starts and stops the motor. Trupti Bobade, nushri Sastikar, nushri Garud, U Kaware, R. Dehankar [2] gave idea on Induction Motor Speed Control using ndroid pplication. The proposed system is designed to control the speed of induction motor using ndroid application where the remotely controlling speed of induction motor is achieved. Priya Duggal [3] proposed microcontroller based speed control of DC motor through RS232. MohdSamsal Islam, V.K Tripathi [4] gave idea on Pulse Width Modulation for DC Motor Control Based on LM324. ll rights reserved by www.ijirst.org 84

In the above literature survey, it is observed that work is carried onlyfor turning the motor ON/OFF. Previous researchers worked only on the operation of turning the motor ON/OFF whereas this system works on additional parameters like phase reversal, phase failure, dry run, over voltage, under voltage etc. motor controller is connected to power supply. Motor (three phase power supply) is operated by commands. The system has real time operation. It protects against overload and faults. It checks phase reversal, phase failure and shows the current status of motor. Interactive notification from unit can be easily used to understand motor conditions. The proposed idea consists of the following block diagram III. PROPOSED IDE Wifi Module 3 Phase Supply Signal Conditioning Start 3 Phase Current Signal Conditioning Microcontroller Stop To Direct Online Starter(DOL) Dry Run Input Run 128x64 LCD The main devices are given below: Fig. 1: Block Diagram of Proposed Idea Wi-Fi Module [ESP8266] The ESP8266 Wi-Fi Module is a self-contained System on chip [SOC] with integrated transmission control protocol/ internet protocol [TCP/IP] protocol stack that can give any microcontroller access to Wi-Fi network. Incorporating display data RM in the controller LSI, the unit can efficiently display under microprocessor control. It has 3V power supply. Liquid crystal display is use for the display all the failure messages and status of the motor. Fig. 5: Liquid Crystal Display IV. PROCESS DESCRIPTION The system consists of three phase power supply, Wi-Fi module, Renesas microcontroller [R5F100MFFB], Three s each connected to microcontroller, dry run sensor, LCD display, current transformer and signal conditioning circuit. Three phase power supply requires 415V. Renesas controller [R5F100MFFB] requires 5V, display uses 3V and relays require 12V. The three phase power supply consists of three transformers and it is connected to signal conditioning circuit and signal conditioning circuit connected to microcontroller as well as current transformer is connected to the microcontroller through signal ll rights reserved by www.ijirst.org 86

conditioning circuit after that micro-controller senses the three phase voltage and current then display on LCD as well as on ndroid app. Microcontroller performs all the main operations like detect the phase failure, phase reversal, connectivity between the ndroid app and motor etc. Wi-Fi module is connected to the microcontroller and it is used for duplex communication between the user and controller. Operations are controlled via T commands. The user has to give commands to start and stop the motor then operations are performed from remote location and display the status of motor and failure conditions if any occurs on LCD as well as on ndroid app. Three relays are used out of which two for to start and stop the motor and third relay is used for manually operating the motor. These relays are interfacing between the microcontroller and starter of the motor. Dry run sensor detects the water level. If the water level goes below a threshold level it informs the controller to stop the running motor to avoid future damage. The status of motor and failure conditions if any occurs are display on ndroid application as well as on LCD display. ndroid application is designed for control the motor from remote location. ndroid app is interface with Wi-Fi module to the microcontroller. ny notifications regarding the status of motor and failure conditions if any occurs is display on ndroid application. ndroid application is based on the duplex communication. ny command is send from the ndroid application through Wi-Fi to the microcontroller then microcontroller performs the operation according to command then relay should be turn ON/OFF the motor and microcontroller give the response to user according to command as well as display on LCD. VI. RESULT 1. When user gives instruction/command through ndroid application via Wi-Fi, the system checks various conditions like three phase power supply, phase failure, phase reversal, under voltage, over voltage, dry run sequentially. 2. If the system finds any faults like dry run, over voltage, under voltage, phase fail in 3 phase power supply then motor turns OFF automatically. User can see these faults and status of motor on ndroid application as well as on LCD display. VII. CONCLUSION The paper is focused on Motor protection and control unit by wireless media. Motor is operated by ndroid application via Wi- Fi technology and only authentic user has access over it. It detects all the faults in three phase power supply and according to that the motor is turned ON/OFF. The motor protection and control unit by wireless media saves man power and time.
