KoRT Knights of the Round Table Motorcycle Road Safety Initiative 25 h November 2016-27 th November 2016
a message from the Event Coordinators Greetings, My name is Janine Nolan, and I am the Executive Secretary of the Red Knights Motorcycle Club, National Association of Australia and lead coordinator of this event. I would like to ask for your support, both financially and through the services that your business or organisation can provide. The Red Knights are firefighters (volunteer, paid, retired, government and industry) who enjoy motorcycling. We will be joined by Blue Knights (Police), White Knights (Medical) and Orange Knights (SES) Clubs in holding a weekend event at Kryal Castle (Ballarat, Victoria) focusing on Motorcycle Road Safety in a family friendly, and fun event. In the last ten years, more than 430 motorcycle riders and pillion passengers have been killed and more than 9,500 riders and pillions have been seriously injured on Victorian roads. 252 people were killed on Victoria's roads in 2015, of these, 30 were riders and passengers of motorcycles. Given the reduction in death and injury over the last ten years, this seems like a positive move in statistics; until you look at this current year. As of the 5 th June 2016, the current death toll for 2016 of riders and passengers of motorcycles is 31. This is just not good enough and beyond disturbing. Given that the Knights Clubs are either Fire, Police, Ambulance or SES members who respond to these accidents, it has a double impact resulting in a dedication to make a difference. Following this message is an overview and proposal for your consideration and action. We are already linking in with TAC, VicRoads, Victorian Police & Emergency Services, Ballarat City Council, Ballarat Regional Tourism, and we would love to add your business or organisation s name along side those. Given the combination of who we are, the site itself, and the events we will hold over the weekend, it is guaranteed to be well attended and well covered by local, state, and hopefully, national media. Please contact me at any time on the details below or at the end of this document, and I look forward to hearing from you soon. Keep the rubber to the road and stay safe. Kind Regards, Janine Nolan 0473 978 800 kort@rkmcnaoa.com
