MEDIA ADVISORY Alternative Aviation Fuels will Feature at Paris Air Show 2011 National Press Club, Washington, DC 22 March 2011 For ImmediateRelease Contact: Kallman Worldwide peterm@kallman.com / tel: 201 251 2600 ex 124 / cell: +1 202 441 7199 A diverse group of organizations from throughout the world are assembling at the Paris Air Show 2011 to showcase achievements in the emerging field of alternative aviation fuels. Fourteen separate organizations will be mounting displays within the new Alternative Aviation Fuels Display showcase feature area in Hall 3 at this June s sold out event. In addition to individual company exhibits, the alternative aviation fuels showcase will include a presentation theater where stakeholders will conduct a series of product and capabilities presentations throughout the week. Presentations will be facilitated by representatives of the Air Transport Association of America (ATA), the Commercial Aviation Alternative Fuels Initiative (CAAFI), Air France, British Airways, and Lufthansa. Another important aspect of the program is the outreach effort underway to attract aerospace and fuel sector investors to meet the participants and get first hand information about opportunities opening up in the alternative aviation fuels industry. A number of investor focused events are planned. Among the companies and organizations taking part in the Alternative Aviation Fuels Display are: CAAFI The Commercial Aviation Alternative Fuels Initiative (CAAFI) seeks enhanced sustainability, and supply security through development and deployment of alternative jet fuels. CAAFI coalition sponsors include the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Airports Council International North America (ACI NA) the Aerospace Industries Association (AIA) and the Air Transport Association (ATA). Stakeholders include all elements of the international commercial aviation industry, fuel suppliers, universities and government agencies. Alternative Aviation Fuels Display at the Paris Air Show 2011 Page 2 ATA Founded in 1936, the Air Transport Association of America, Inc. (ATA) is the nation's oldest and largest airline trade association. The association's fundamental purpose is to foster a business and regulatory environment that ensures safe and secure air transportation and enables U.S. airlines to flourish, stimulating economic growth locally, nationally and internationally. By working with its members in the technical, legal and political arenas, ATA leads industry efforts to fashion crucial aviation policy and supports measures that enhance aviation safety, security and well being. ATA has seen the airline industry grow from the small, pioneering companies of the 1930s into indispensable facilitators of the global economy. ATA and its members continue to play a vital role in shaping the future of air transportation. We are a leading renewable chemicals and advanced biofuels company. We plan to produce isobutanol commercially in 2012 at low costs making it an attractive gateway building block for many fuels and chemicals. Gevo has converted isobutanol to biojet fuel and is in certification at ASTM. We look forward to educating the aviation industry on Gevo, our biojet fuel, and discussing potential production projects. For more information, contact Chris Ryan at cryan@gevo.com. LanzaTech s commercial plants will effectively convert a variety of nonfood, low value gas feed stocks into clean bioethanol and platform chemicals, providing a strategically important route to renewable fuels and chemicals that is economically, socially and environmentally sound. LanzaTech, through it's partners, has successfully demonstrated the conversion of chemical intermediates, produced through the LanzaTech process, to drop in jet fuel. LanzaTech's process is able to make over 30 billion gallons of fuel ethanol using waste gas streams from steel mill's alone, which will have a significant impact impact on the fuel pool.
