Light Bar Hardware Tools Required Universal Clamp Inserts 1.9, 2 3/8 - OD 5 Amp Fuse 1.25 Hole Saw Philips Screw Driver 7/64 Drill Bit Fish Tape Countersink Pencil Pigtail Wiring Harness Clamp Washer Wire Strippers & Crimps Drill Allen Key NOTES If you purchased our Master Wiring Harness you will only need to provide wire and a fuse for the interior boat wiring. You will need wire for the lights enough length to run from the rear of the starboard mount to your desired power source or switch (depending on your install). We recommend a minimum 16 to 14 gauge wire for powering the lights. You must mount an inline fuse between your battery and the switch. The inline fuse is designed to protect your wires connecting your light bar. Each light on the light bar draws 0.25 amps of current, thus the C3 Light Bar draws 0.75 amps. We recommend using a 5 amp fuse, however 2 to 15 amps is an acceptable range. MOUNTING OPTIONS Your new Spectra Light Bar can be mounted anywhere on your tower the lights will rotate to face either direction so it s up to you to choose a suitable mounting location. Both ends of the light bar are equipped with a speakon connector, however only one end needs to be plugged in. This allows you to mount the light bar above or below the top section of the tower. *PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING STEP BEFORE STARTING THE INSTALLATION* A Wiring is typically done along the starboard side as your boat s switch panel provides a good 12V power source and a number of possibilities for wiring (courtesy light, navigation light, ACC switch etc.). Because each boat and tower setup is different there are no specific instructions for wiring the tower generally most people will run the wires internally through their tower. To do this you will need to drill a series of holes that will allow you to run the wiring harness inside the tower to your desired mounting location. You can then fish the wires through the tower using a fish tape. Alternatively some people choose to run their wires outside the tower using zip ties or another attachment system. The choice is yours. If you are NOT using our MASTER wiring harness you will need to connect the 18 included pigtail wiring harness according to the chart in STEP B. If you ARE using our MASTER wiring harness you will need to connect the included pigtail wiring harness to the master harness according to the chart in STEP C. Note Be sure to run the master wiring harness up through the tower before making your connections between the two harnesses, this will prevent having to detach either speakon connector. Once you have fished each wire through the holes, attach the harnesses (we recommend using butt connectors or solder for a durable connection). Rev. 28-Sep-11 Pg. 1/5

NOTES * A CERTIFIED MARINE ELECTRICIAN IS REQUIRED FOR THE INSTALLATION INSIDE THE BOAT * Included with your MASTER Wiring Harness is an 8-pole Female Speakon Connector, 4 1/8 screws, and 8 Sta-Kon connectors. To install the Female Speakon Connector to the deck the installer will need to drill a hole using a 1.25 hole saw through the deck of the boat. The hole should be positioned 2 to 4 aft or behind the rear tower mounts. D Begin by marking the area on the deck you wish to drill, making sure the lip of the female speakon connector will not touch the mount. Lip E 1) Carefully drill the pilot hole. 2) Just before the hole saw comes into contact with the gel coat run the drill in reverse while slowly allowing the blade to contact the deck (this will help protect the gel coat from cracking). 1) 2) Reverse 3) 4) 2-4 Female Speakon Connector Flat Tabs Forward Note Before drilling check inside the gunwales of the boat to ensure you will not be drilling into any electrical wires or cables! 1.25 3) Once the hole saw passes through the gel coat, switch the drill back into forward and 4) finish drilling the hole. F Insert the female speakon connector into your new hole. Mark the 4 small screw holes on the speakon with a pencil and remove it from the hole. Drill the 4 holes you just marked using a 7/64 drill bit. G With your countersink bit (we recommend 1/2 ), carefully countersink each hole do not go past the gel coat layer (this is to again help prevent the gel coat from cracking). 7/64 1/2 Do not go past gel coat layer Rev. 28-Sep-11 Pg. 3/5
H Attach 2 Sta-Kon connectors to one end of your 16-14 gauge wires (inside the boat deck). Sta-Kon Connectors I Connect these Sta-Kon connectors to the corresponding terminals (Flat Tabs) on the female speakon connector using the chart below. Place the female speakon connector back into its hole. K Using 4 5/36 screws fasten the female speakon connector to the boat deck. Note - Make sure connections are snug. L Run the Light and LED wires to your chosen switch or power source and connect. Make sure to insert the correct inline fuse for your light bar on the positive power source wire. 5 Amp Fuse Inline Fuse Holder Rev. 28-Sep-11 Pg. 4/5
M Unfasten the two 1/4 bolts holding the clamp together and pull back the top half of the clamp. N Spectra C3 Light Bar Remove the bottom clamp insert. Place the clamp washers on the outer holes, then insert the long 1/4 bolts through the washers, fastening the clamp to light bar. RED LOCTITE must be used. O Select the appropriate clamp inserts* for your tower, for the 2 3/8 clamp inserts use the shorter set screws. P Hold the bar in the position you would like. Align the top half of the clamp around the tower and re-insert the 1/4" bolts tightening each one evenly, be careful not to strip the threads. RED LOCTITE must be used on both bolts and both set screws. 1.9 2 3/8 Note - To ensure tight fit use the correct plastic clamp inserts and set screws. *You will have one set of clamp inserts and one set screw remaining after installation. Keep for future use or recycle. Q With your boat and all switches turned off you can now 1) plug the speakon into the light bar. 2) Insert the second male speakon into the female connector on the deck, twist clockwise to engage. Once the light bar is secured to your tower, insert the appropriate set screws on the back of the clamp. This tightens the light bar to the tower and prevents it from rotating and moving around. 1) 2) Rev. 28-Sep-11 Pg. 5/5
