Yur pwer wheelchair mainly cnsists f the fllwing parts: Chair-Frame: It cnsists f a fldable cmpnent, which can be flded frm the middle f the seat base in rder t stre r transprt cnveniently Operating system: It cnsists f a cntrller, tw battery bxes, tw mtrs, a set f drive mechanisms and tw drive wheels. The battery bxes are lcated separately n the left and right sides f the seat. There are tw manual freewheel levers n the drive mechanism. 1. Take the wheelchair ut f the bx and put it n the grund. Push the seat and ftrest back and frth respectively with bth hands. When yu hear a click, the lcating pins are inserted int the psitining hles and, in this case, the chair frame has been cmpletely pened. 2. Hld the right and left sides f the push-handle and press the buttns n bth sides. Turn the push-handle upward until at a suitable psitin. 3. Turn the armrests frward. 4. Put the cntrller nt the armrest f yur chice. Pull the tightening spanner, n the cntrller dwn t fasten the cntrller. 5. Turn wheelchair arund & press the stpper pins f the anti-tippers t release them. Pull the anti-tippers ut until a lcating pin autmatically lcks the anti-tipper 6. Remve the fam pads frm the battery bxes. Nte that the batteries shuld be charged befre perating the TraveLite. 7. Switch the mtr lck levers n the mechanism bxes t drive mde s that the wheelchair can be driven by mtrs. 8. Yur wheelchair has nw been assembled and can be used. 6 P a g e CAUTION 1. The wheelchair is fldable in rder t reduce its bulk fr transprtatin and strage. 1. Make sure the pwer is ff. 2. Flip the armrests back. 3. Turn the ftrest upward. 4. Press the buttns n bth sides f the push-handle t cllapse the backrest. 5. Pinch the tw thumb-levers, fund at the back f the seat inward. 6. 1. Cntrller The cntrller is a key cmpnent fr yur wheelchair. All electrnics t perate the wheelchair are hused in this cntrller. The cntrller cnsists f the fllwing parts: Speed Up Buttn Jystick On/Off Buttn Hter Speed Dwn Buttn Charger Scket The cntrller is usually hused n ne f the armrests and cnnected ne battery at a time (giving yu a spare battery) tgether with the mtrs. WARNING! Make sure that the wheelchair is in drive mde befre using it. 2. Buttns n Cntrller On/Off Buttn: The On/Off -Buttn cntrls the pwer t the cntrl and mtrs thrugh the latter. Dn t use the On/Off-Buttn t stp the wheelchair unless in an emergency. Jystick: The jystick is mainly used t cntrl the speed and directin f the wheelchair. The further yu push the jystick frm its central psitin, the faster the wheelchair mves. Whenever yu release the jystick, it will be autmatically stp. Hter Buttn: The hter will sund if yu hit this buttn. Speed: After pwering n, the Speed Light will shw the current maximum speed f yur wheelchair. Each time the Speed up Buttn (r Speed dwn Buttn) is pressed, the number f cells will increase (r decrease). Charger Scket: This prduct has tw charger sckets: ne n the frnt f the cntrller and the ther n each f the battery cases. Any f the sckets can be used t charge the batteries. (Charging thrugh the cntrller will nly charge ne battery at a time). The charger supplied must be used ONLY! Any ther charge may cause damage t the batteries and/r the wheelchair s cntrl system as well as its E.M.C perfrmance (Electrmagnetic tlerance). 3. Batteries and their usage The TraveLite has tw batteries and each battery is n either side f the wheelchair and is used individually. When ne f the batteries is flat, ne can replace it with the ther and cntinue t use the wheelchair. T receive maximum efficiency frm yur battery: Fully charge yur new batteries prir t its initial use. This bring the battery up t 90% f its peak perfrmance level. After fur r five cnsecutive charging cycles, the batteries will charge 100% and last fr an extended perid f time. Battery WARNING Only use the ff-bard charger supplied with yur wheelchair t charge its batteries. D nt use ther chargers t charge them, therwise the damage, as a result, will invalidate yur warranty. 10 P a g e
4. Charging Batteries The battery charger is an imprtant part f the wheelchair. The ff-bard charger attached t this prduct can charge the batteries quickly and easily t ensure yu get the best ut f yur wheelchair. Psitin yur wheelchair near a wall scket r remve the batteries. Be certain that the cntrller is pwered ff and that the wheelchair is in drive mde. Cnnect the 3-pin utput plug f the charger t the cntrller/battery. Cnnect the pwer plug f the charger t the wall scket. The red LED n the charger lights up t indicate that charging is in prgress. The green LED light indicates that the batteries are fully charged. We recmmend that yu charge the batteries fr 6-8 hurs. Remve the charger s pwer plug frm the electrical utlet, and the charger s utput plug frm the cntrller after the batteries have charged. Place the charger with its cables and plugs tgether int its bag under the seat. Alternatively, the batteries can be charged separately frm the wheelchair by remving the batteries frm the wheelchair and charging them in the same way. 5. Overlad prtectr The verlad prtectr, which is lcated in the battery bx, is set fr the wheelchair s safety. Once mtrs r batteries verlad, the verlad prtectr will trip t cut ff the pwer. After ne r tw minutes, it will autmatically reset and then yu can cntinue t drive the wheelchair. 6. Mtr Lck Lever Fr yur cnvenience, tw mtr lck levers are separately installed n the tw mechanism bxes. When the levers are switched t manual mde, it allws the wheelchair t be manually maneuvered. When the levers are switched t electric mde, it will be driven by mtrs. Remember that the brake system is disengaged when the wheelchair is in manual mde. 11 P a g e
**D nt use this wheelchair in manual mde unless yu are receiving assistance. **D nt set yur wheelchair in manual mde by yurself while yu are seated in it. This may result in persnal injury 7. Precautins fr peratin Make sure that the cntrl system has been crrectly installed and the jystick is facing vertically upward. Sit firmly & fasten yur seatbelt. After pwering n, check whether the current maximum speed is suitable fr yu. If nt, adjust the speed. It is recmmended that yu start at a slwer speed and increase it gradually. If the wheelchair mves in an unexpected directin, release the jystick immediately and the chair will stp. Keep yur feet n the ftrest; dn t extend them ut when the wheelchair is in mtin. Dn t extend yur arms ut frm the armrests while driving Ensure that the wheelchair is nt in manual mde befre yu use it. Cautins T Keep In Mind D nt drive the wheelchair in the fllwing cases: Beynd restrictins indicated in this user manual. Fr example, the maximum user weight f 80kg, the maximum incline f 6 degrees, high bstacles etc. On surfaces that culd make the tires lse their grip, such as surfaces with ice, snw, il, gravel, grass etc. Malfunctins f the cntrller, brakes, electrnics, mechanisms etc. 12 P a g e
Like ther mtrized vehicles, The TraveLite als requires rutine maintenance. Sme checks yu can perfrm yurself, but thers require ur assistance. Preventative maintenance is very imprtant. Humidity The TraveLite, like mst electrical and mechanical equipment, is susceptible t external cnditins. The wheelchair shuld avid damp envirnments. Direct r prlnged expsure t water r dampness culd cause the wheelchair t malfunctin electrnically and mechanically. Water can cause electrical cmpnent and the frame f the chair t crrde. Temperature Sme parts f yur wheelchair are susceptible t temperature. In extremely cld temperatures 30 C belw zer sme electrnics will be affected r malfunctin. Temperatures abve 50 C may cause yur wheelchair s speed t reduce. General Guidelines Avid physical impact n the cntrller. Avid prlnged expsure f yur wheelchair t extreme cnditins, such as ht, cld, r mist envirnments. Keep the cntrller clean. Check all electrnic cnnectins, including the cable and cnnectrs f the charger, and ensure that they are all tight and secure. The surface f the frame has been sprayed with a clear sealant cat.
