KEYLESS UPGRADE INSTALLATION PREPARATION Before starting installation. Familiarize yourself with the installation instructions.. Inspect kit components. VEHICLE PREPARATION. Place protective coverings on vehicle.. Disconnect negative battery clamp Negative Battery Cable 3. Remove the driver's side scuff plate. Inserting a plastic panel tool under the scuff plate and prying upward to disengage the snap clips. 4. Remove the driver side kick panel by inserting a plastic panel tool under the kick panel and carefully pry to disengage the snap clips. Southeast Toyota Distributors, LLC Page of

KEYLESS UPGRADE INSTALLING PROCEDURES 6. Carefully seperate the lower steering column cover halfs by disengaging the (4) tabs and remove cover. MOUNTING THE LED/VALET SWITCH:. Carefully drill a 5 / 6 " diameter hole in the center knock out nd from the right side of the left side lower dash finish panel.. Remove the knurled mounting nut from the back of the switch, pass the wires through the hole, then secure the switch with the knurled nut. IMPORTANT! If trim bezel is supplied, remove the third knock out from the left and install the provided new trim bezel. Southeast Toyota Distributors, LLC Page 4 of

KEYLESS UPGRADE INSTALLING PROCEDURES PREPARING THE LED/VALET SWITCH:. Locate the 4 pin Molex connector found in the hardware bag included in the kit.. Carefully plug the terminals at the ends of the 4 wires from the switch into the connector housing as shown. IMPORTANT! Be sure to align the terminal correctly before inserting it into the connector housing. MOUNTING SHOCK SENSOR MODULE: A. Use () of the short black cable ties provided in the hardware bag, and secure the shock sensor to the main vehicle harness as shown in the photo. Adjust the sensitivity to position for testing. IMPORTANT NOTE! Be sure to pass the cable ties through the holes in the upper and lower mounting tabs of the shock sensor, then around and securing to the main harness. Failure to do this could cause the shock sensor to become loose. MOUNTING MAIN CONTROL MODULE: Main Module SHOCK SENSOR A. Secure the main module to the vehicle harness connected to the JB in the driver's side kick panel area. Secure in place with the long cable ties provided. KEYLESS UPGRADE ROUTING THE MAIN HARNESS: INSTALLING PROCEDURES. Route the ignition switch connectors on the main harness under the steering column.. Secure the main harness along it's routing with the cable ties provided. Be sure that the harness is clear of all sharp, hot, moving objects. MOUNTING THE HOOD PIN SWITCH:. Route pin switch wire through the bulkhead grommet nipple from "inside" of the vehicle. Apply a good sealant to seal grommet against water entry.. Locate the 0mm bolt at the front of the driver's side fender. Remove the 0mm bolt, install the hood pin switch bracket. 3. Route the pin switch wire along the top of the driver's side shock tower, towards the hood pin switch bracket location. Plastic Trim 4. KEYLESS UPGRADE MOUNTING THE HOOD PIN SWITCH: 5. Install "star washer" nut on pin switch wire and connect pin switch wire to pin switch as shown. 6. Thread "starwasher" nut on pin switch and tighten. 7. Using a foam pad, secure the hood pin switch wire to the fender support. 8. Re-assemble the black plastic trim panel. INSTALLING THE SHOCK SENSOR HAR- NESS:. Plug the 5 pin end of the harness into the matting connector on the main control module.. Route the harness towards the shock sensor, where it will not interfere with any sharp or moving objects. 3. Secure the harness along the routing path using the cable ties provided. CONNECTING THE SECURITY SYSTEM HARNESS:. Carefully follow the wiring diagram and factory connector details on pages 8-0. T-TAP INSTALLATION: A. When installing female T - Tap connectors, be sure the wire is located inside the wire channel of the female T - Tap connector before closing connector over the wire with pliers ( Figure D ). WIRING DIAGRAM MATRIX (NUMMI) GREEN / RED WIRE [Horn]: Use red T-Tap and connect to the LT. GREEN WIRE in connector E0, location 8. BLUE WIRE [Headlights - Automatic Transmission Vehicle]: Use red T-Tap and connect to the VIOLET WIRE in connector AE4, location 6. Refer to page 9 for additional details. BLUE WIRE [Headlights - Manual Transmission Vehicle]: Connect BLUE extension harness to the alarm BLUE wire. Use red T-Tap and connect to the VIOLET WIRE in connector E4, location 6. Refer to page 0 for additional details. WHITE WIRE [Tail Lights]: Use red T-Tap and connect to the BROWN WIRE in connector E, location 8. IMPORTANT! The recommended sensitivity setting for the shock sensor is setting! Disconnect the Ignition Switch Connector E5 and plug in the security main harness into the ignition switch connectors. Please refer to the vehicle's owner manual to determine if the vehicle is equipped with this option. 0 AMP FUSE [ Hood Pin Switch ] - Locate the BLACK / WHITE hood pin switch extension wire included in the kit. Plug one end of the extension wire into the DARK GREEN WIRE on the alarm harness, route the extension wire through the bulkhead grommet on the driver's side of the vehicle, and plug the other end of the extension onto the hood pin switch. 4 Pin Molex Connector - Plug Into the L.E.D. / Valet Switch. PINK/WHITE [Driver Unlock Switch]: Use a red T-Tap and connect to the BEIGE wire in connector IE, Pin 5. GREEN/BLACK [ Driver Door Unlock Motor ]: Use a blue T-Tap and connect to the GREEN wire in connector IE Pin 7. BLUE/WHITE [ Door Lock Motor]: Use a blue T- Tap and connect to the BEIGE wire in connector IE, Pin 8. PINK/BLACK [Door Unlock Key Switch ]: Use a red T-Tap and connect to the PINK wire in connector IE, Pin 6. PINK [ Door Lock Switch ]: Use a red T-Tap and connector to the VIOLET in connector IE, Pin6. GREEN/WHITE [ Trunk Release ]: Use a red T- Tap and connector to the PINK in connector EL, Pin. A. RECONNECT THE BATTERY: Connect Negative cable to vehicle battery and torque to 36in. lbs. B. Test BOTH remote transmitters, one at a time. Press and release the "LOCK" button. If the LED light on the transmitters fails to glow, you need to check the transmitter battery. C. VALET CONTROL SWITCH:. Sit in the driver's seat, insert the ignition key and turn to the ON position.. Press the valet control switch and verify that the LED light responds. Light should go ON and OFF with actuation of the valet control switch. 3. With the LED indicator light ON, ignition OFF and key removed, the security system is in the valet mode and the alarm should not arm. Press the "LOCK" button, the parking lights will flash once, all doors will lock, headlights come on for 0 seconds. Press the "UNLOCK" button, the parking lights will flash twice, driver's door only will unlock, headlights come on for 0 seconds. 4. Ignition key ON, LED light OFF, ignition key OFF. D. ARMING/DISARMING & PANIC:. Put all vehicle windows down and close hood and all doors.. Press and release the "LOCK" transmitter button. 3. All doors should lock, parking lights flash once, horn chirps once, headlights come on for 0 seconds and the LED should flash slowly. (Note: If the parking lights flash three times and the horn chirps three times, check for an open hood or door.) 4. Press the "UNLOCK" button, the horn chirps () times, parking lights flash () times, headlights come on for 0 seconds, driver's door only unlocks. 5. Press and hold the "RED" button to test the "Panic" function. The alarm should blow the horn in short, continuous blast, parking lights should be flashing. E. SHOCK SENSOR:. Press the "LOCK" button to arm the system. With the open palm lightly slap the "A" pillar by the driver's windshield. You should hear short chirps from the vehicle horn. This is a check of the shock sensor "WARN-AWAY" function. Allow a few seconds for the shock to settle, then conduct the same check at various points around the vehicle. Sensitivity can be adjusted at the shock sensor for best response.. Slap the vehicle at the "A" pillar with slightly more force. The vehicle should go into full alarm. Press the "UNLOCK" button to disarm the system. Rearm the vehicle and conduct the same check at various points around the vehicle. Adjust sensitivity at the Southeast shock Toyota sensor Distributors, for the LLC best response. Page of KEYLESS UPGRADE TESTING SYSTEM: Negative Battery Cable Unlock Button Trunk Release Option F. STARTER INTERRUPT:. Set in the driver's seat with all the doors closed. Press the "LOCK" button to arm the system. Insert the ignition key and turn to the start position. The starter should not crank the engine. Press the "UNLOCK" button to disarm the system. Turn to the start position. The starter should crank the engine. Exit vehicle. G. DEFECTIVE OR LOST TRANSMITTER:. Press the "LOCK" button to arm the system. Use the key to unlock and open the driver's door. The alarm will sound. Enter the vehicle, insert the ignition key and turn to the on position. Press the valet control switch once, the alarm should deactivate and the vehicle should now start. H. REMOTE TRANSMITTER OPERATION:. Press the "LOCK" button, the system should arm and lock all doors.. Press the "UNLOCK" button, the system will also disarm and unlock the driver's door. 3. Press the "UNLOCK" button a second time and all doors should unlock. I. INTRUSION TEST:. Rearm the security system by pressing the "LOCK" button. Open any door or hatch. The system should simultaneously sound the horn and flash the parking lights.. Disarm the security system by pressing the "UNLOCK" button. The system should sound (4) chirps of the horn, the parking lights should flash (4) times, indicating vehicle intrusion. 3. The LED should indicate the point of intrusion after disarming the system. Observe the LED for,, or 3 flashes. Compare your observations to the following. () Flash = Shock () Flashes = Hood (3) Flashes = Vehicle Doors SYSTEM AUTOMATICALLY CLEARS ALL STORED VIOLATIONS WHEN THE IGNITION SWITCH IS TURNED TO THE "ON" POSITION. END sensitivity adjustment SHOCK SENSOR Lock Button Panic Button

KEYLESS UPGRADE COMPLETING THE INSTALLATION ASSEMBLE ALL REMOVED PANELS:. Refer again to the vehicle repair manual and re-assemble all panels that were removed. Test thoroughly, all mechanical and electrical components disconnected and or removed from the vehicle during the installation of this accessory. PREPARING VEHICLE FOR DELIVERY: Turn the arm/disarm chirps off:. Start with the LED/Valet switch in the off (out) position.. Turn the ignition key to the on position. 3. Turn the ignition key off, then immediately press and release the LED/Valet switch 3 times. (You will hear chirps to confirm that the chirps were turned off.) LED Place the system into Valet mode. (VPC only). Start with the LED/Valet switch in the off (out) position.. Turn the ignition key to the on position. 3. Press the LED/Valet switch one time. The switch is in the (in) position, and the red LED light is turned on solid, indicating that the system is in the Valet Mode. IMPORTANT: Clean the window before applying the security decal. Applying the window warning decal:. Apply the window warning decals to the driver side and passenger side windows, just above the anti-theft radio stickers if equipped. If not equipped, apply the decals at the lower rear edge of the window. (The decals are reverse printed and are applied to the inside surface of the glass. Owners Manual:.
