What sets products apart from alternative products? FEATURES & BENEFITS Flow products Paddlewheel Sensor Wide choice of materials. Materials of plastic or metal offer good chemical resistance for use with a variety of liquids with wide temperature and pressure differences. Four bladed paddle design. Optimal performance and lower flow measurement than 5 bladed rotors with higher weight/bearing inertia. Simple open cell rotor design. Permits easy field replacement of moving parts saving time and money. Open cell rotor prevents cavitation, ensuring linearity across a broad flow range. Reliable performance. Thirty years of proven product performance with the best longevity in the industry. Insertion Magmeters Adjustable insertion design. One size fits all pipe sizes from 2 in. and up. Wetted materials are constructed of stainless steel 316 and PFA or PVDF. Rugged design with good chemical resistance suitable for tough applications. Input impedance > 10,000 M Low sensitivity to coating allowing suitability to dirty liquids. Vortex Flowmeters High accuracy and repeatability. ±1% and ±0.5% of reading respectively surpass any plastic vortex sensor performance currently available for unbeatable price/performance ratio. No machined surfaces. Injection molded body means no particle shedding, no crevices that allow bacterial contamination, and repeatable surface finish for a more consistent flow measurement. True High purity version. Not just cleaned with DI water, as some manufacturers claim, but actually made with virgin PVDF plastic polymer in a true Class 10,000 environment and then tested and bagged in Class 1000 to maintain absolute system integrity. Turbine Flowmeters Detachable electronics. Electrical maintenance possible without the need to extract the flowmeter from the pipe. Wider choice of end connection including pipe and tubing. Offers flexible system design no matter what type of pipe/tube used. Superior bearing design for long life. Plastic (PVDF) for good chemical resistance Radio Frequency (RF) pickup. Immune to ferrous particle contamination or magnetic drag Use the postcard included in this handbook or call (800) 854-4090 to order the complete Instrumentation Catalog or visit www.gfsignet.com for detailed product information. 15.2

Analytical Products ph & ORP Sensors Pre-amplified output. Unlike non-amplified sensors, the preamplifier ensures the process signal is resistant to electrical noise and allows up to 400 feet before connection to instrument. Longer reference path and larger reference volume means longer service life between electrode changes. Flat glass surface sensor design. Resistant to fouling and abrasion in dirty applications, and prevents accidental damage to extend electrode life span. Unique twist-lock design enable ph and temperature connections instantly. Conductivity, Resistivity and Salinity Sensors Flow-through design. Ensures continuous measurement without air entrapment. Reversible threaded connections for in-line or tank usage. Standard parts offer application flexibility for the user. Every sensor uses standard electrical cable. No need to incur additional costs for patch type cable connections. NIST calibration certificate available upon request. Chosen if the specification calls for traceability. Temperature Sensors Unibody and PVDF construction for aggressive fluid conditions. 3/4 in. NPT for easy installation. Pressure Sensors 3/4 in. NPT for easy installation. Pressure ranges to cover a wide range of applications. Chemically inert materials. Instrumentation ProcessPro Transmitters Separate field mount and panel versions. Professionally finished product to suit application specific needs. Multifunctional single input/output or dual input/output available. Large buttons and user friendly features. Dedicated temperature and pressure transmitter added to the family. Scratch resistant/self-healing display window. ProPoint Monitors Dual display one analog, one digital. Indication is seen from a distance combined with accurate digital readings of process parameters. Choice of 6 slide-in dials. Re-calibration is easily achieved in the field without the need for purchasing additional parts. Variety of power requirements. Sensor power, battery power, or AC/DC power versions available makes the ProPoint series usable in almost any application. Intelek-Pro Controllers Instrument modularity. Plug-in input and output cards allow the instrument to be tailored to suit the exact customized needs of the application. 110 VAC/24 VDC power options in one unit. One unit accepts either or both power supplies used for backup power. 15 www.gfsignet.com 15.3

Level Technologies: Simple Guidelines Applications for level measurement are as diverse as any other process parameter, if not more so. This diversity has resulted in the emergence of many different technologies, each offering specific advantages such as non-contacting installation, no moving parts, or accuracy and resolution. + GF + SIGNET s level offering was carefully developed to meet the majority of the most demanding applications. Ultrasonic Point Level Sensors are level switches with no moving parts, used individually or in pairs for multi-point level control. Magnetostrictive (Float) Level Sensors operate on the simple and reliable principle of buoyancy and are unrivaled in accuracy and resolution. Pressure Sensors contain no moving parts and are widely used for level measurement because of their inherent reliability. Ultrasonic Continuous Level Sensors mount above the fluid surface and have no moving parts. This attractive tech-nology is growing in popularity and use, and is ideal for many harsh environments. These sensor types plus other common technologies appear in the chart below, along with some basic considerations for proper selection. Fluid Conditions Operating Environment Float Electro Optic Point Level Tuning Fork Ultrasonic Pressure Capacitance Continuous Level Ultrasonic Radar Magnetrostrictive Process Cleanliness Some particles Viscous, coating Slurry Temperature > 50 degrees C Pressure 0 to 15 psi 16 to 50 psi > 50 psi Fluid Surface Mixed Splashing, Choppy Foam Area Above Still 3-2210-T240-XX 0-20 ft.
