CONCLUSIONS: Ferraz Shawmut Inc., Type HSJ, Class J, 600V ac fuses (30A, 60A, 100A, 200A, 400A and 600A) performed satisfactorily at a test voltage of 950V dc with two fuses in series (test details as identified in Item 1) when tested in accordance with CSA std. C22.2 No. 248-8. However, circuit conditions, Ip/I2t values obtained during testing and MBC values for specific size have to be taken into account while selecting the fuse for an end use application.
