LED is a semiconductor diode that emits incoherent narrowspectrum light when electrically biased in the forward direction of the PN junction, as in the common LED circuit. In short, it is an element that converts electric signals into light signals. Yellow, blue, red and white LEDs are currently used. The followings are the advantages of LED. It is not glaring and doesn't have short circuit unlike the conventional lamps. It is semipermanent and doesn't generate heat. Its power consumption is much lower than those of conventional bulbs.

The unit of luminous intensity is the candela (cd). Brightness Brightness is an attribute of visual perception in which a source appears to be radiating or reflecting light. In other words, brightness is the perception elicited by the luminance of a visual target. This is a subjective attribute/property of an object being observed. The unit of brightness is the stilb (sb) or nit (nt). Luminance The density of luminous power, also called luminance. One lumen of luminous flux, uniformly incident on 1 square foot of area, produces an luminance of 1 footcandle; in SI units, one lumen of luminous flux, uniformly incident on 1 square meter of area, produces an luminance of 1 lux.

831001 057 3) Operating Process (1) Fog lamp control 1. When pressing the rear fog lamp switch with IGN2 ON (headlamp ON condition), the rear fog lamps are turned ON. 2. When pressing the rear fog lamp switch again during the operation, the rear fog lamps are turned OFF. 3. The rear fog lamps do not come ON when the engine is not running or the light switch is OFF. 4. The rear fog lamps should not automatically come on again if they have been turned OFF by any other way other than the switch.
058 831001 (2) Tail lamp control Tail lamp left ON warning (however, sunroof and ignition key reminder functions have the priority) 1. The buzzer sounds for 10 seconds with the interval of 0.02s ON/1.38 OFF when opening the driver's door with key removed and tail lamp ON. 2. The buzzer stops its operation when turning off the tail lamp or closing the driver's door during buzzer operation. 3. The buzzer stays ON when turning the tail lamp on again after turning it off during buzzer operation. 4. This function is not available when the ignition switch is in ON position.
831001 059 Tail lamp autocut 1. The tail lamp switch turns ON and OFF the tail lamps. 2. When opening and then closing the driver's door after removing the ignition key from the ignition switch with the tail lamp ON, the tail lamps go off automatically. 3. In above conditions, the tail lamps come ON again. 4. The tail lamp should not go off when turning ON the tail lamps with key IN. 5. The tail lamps should not go off when turning OFF and then ON the tail lamp with the power Off or ACC ON. 6. The system will be reset when inserting the ignition key into key switch.
0510 831001 (3) Turn signal lamp control 1. When turning ON the left/right turn signal switch, the lef/right turn signal lamp blinks with the interval of 75/min and the internal horn sounds with same interval. 2. When turning OFF the turn signal switch during Step (1), the turn signal lamp and horn stop the operation. 3. The turn signal lamps are operational when IGN1 is ON. 4. If the turn signal lamp is defective during Step (1), the turn signal lamp blinks with the interval of 100/min and the internal horn sounds with same interval. 5. Defective conditions for Step (4): Open below 3.0 A, Short over 7.0 A 6. When turning ON the turn signal switch, the lamp blinks 3 times. When turning OFF the switch during the operation, the turn signal lamp blinks 3 times and goes off. 7. When turning OFF and then immediately ON the turn signal switch during auto blinking operation of 3 times, the turn signal lamp blinks additional 3 times. 8. When turning ON another turn signal switch during the operation, currently operated turn signal lamp stops and another turn signal lamp starts blinking.
831001 0511 (4) Auto light control (LIN) 1. BCM communicates with the rain sensor when turning the ignition switch to ON position, and controls the tail lamps and the headlamps with the light switch AUTO. (But, the communication with the rain sensor is possible even when the tail lamp switch is in ON position)
0512 831001 (5) Approach (Puddle) lamp control 1. Lamp ON: When receiving the UNLOCK signal from the remote control key in the theft deterrent mode, the approach lamps come ON for 30 seconds. When turning the ignition switch to OFF from ON position and opening the driver's door, the approach lamps come ON. 2. Lamp OFF: When receiving the door lock signal with the approach lamps ON, the lamps go OFF (reactivation of theft deterrent mode). When turning the ignition switch to ON position with the approach lamps ON, the lamps go OFF. The approach lamps go OFF after 30 seconds.

831001 0515 3) Operating Process (1) Room lamp control Door coupled room lamp operation and dimming control When opening any of doors while the room lamp switch in overhead console is pressed in ("Door" coupled position), the front and center room lamps come on. When opening the tailgate while the luggage room lamp switch is pressed in ("Tailgate" coupled position), the luggage room lamp comes on. If the door stays open, the room lamps automatically goes off after 10 minutes. 1. When closing the door with IGN ON, the room lamps go off immediately. 2. When closing the door with IGN OFF, the room lamps stays on for T1 and are dimmed out for T2. 3. When turning the ignition switch to ON position during dimming out operation, the room lamps go off immediately. 4. When receiving the door unlock signal with IGN OFF, key OUT and door closed, the room lamps come on for T3. 5. When receiving the door unlock signal again in Step (4), the front and center room lamps stays on for T3 additionally. 6. When opening a door during the dimming operation, the room lamps stays ON. When closing it again, the system performs the operation in Step (1) and (2). 7. The room lamps go off immediately when entering into the theft deterrent mode.
0516 831001 Room lamp auto cut control 1. When the system enters into the theft deterrent mode or sleep mode, the ground for room lamp will be OFF (To prevent the battery from being discharged when the front or center room lamp switch is not in "Door" position). The room lamps will go OFF after 10 minutes from removing the ignition key. 2. When inserting the ignition key into the key switch, the ground for room lamp will be ON.
