Professional Summary: I am well qualified in the areas of machine design, structural design and analysis, hydraulics and pneumatics, electrical and electronics integration. My SolidWorks skills are top notch as well as my manufacturing planning and analysis. I am a reliable professional engineer with several years of design experience in the oil industry. I have designed down-hole tools, structural assemblies such as curtain wall tanks for the fracking industry. My experience includes many designs working in the world s oilfields. These include pipeline valve actuators, surface safety valve actuators and control systems, snubbing equipment, telescoping joints, compaction joints, drilling shock absorbers, drilling jars, roller reamers, slip-on reamers, holeopeners, and other items. Additionally I have developed hydraulic systems for pipe handling equipment, process control skid-mounted equipment. Additionally, I have travelled on assignments to coordinate the manufacturing, assembly, and testing of large mechanical/hydraulic items for the snubbing industry. I have designed a fully OSHA compliant staircase assembly for snubbing rigs. I have also designed a fully OSHA compliant telescoping ladder assembly with a cage and fall restraint system for snubbing rigs. Lately my experience includes designing and modifying a 500 bbl. portable frack trailer and cleaning up a design of a vacuum service trailer design. All of the above items have been built multiple times and are current inventory items. Additionally my down-hole tools experience has been recently augmented by cleaning up an AutoCAD design of a steerable drilling assembly and converting it into SolidWorks 2012. The design required many adaptations to become functional. I have recently provided designs for down-hole power assemblies designed to provide electric and hydraulic power to sustain batteries for MWD AND LWD. Steerable drilling assemblies, logging while drilling, measurement while drilling, mud pulse, electronics encapsulation, complete tool design, simulation, and testing has been provided. Education: University of Texas at Arlington BSME degree in Mechanical Engineering 30 Hours of training for MBA in International Management Professional Experience: Meadows Analysis and Design Feb 2015-May 2015 I just designed the structural components to move a drill rig of 1.5 millions pounds weight using an automated hydraulic control system which picks the rig up 6 inches and moves it over 12 inches and repeats the cycle until complete. The next project was to design a 44 foot long rail car to place and remove stop logs on the Granbury, Texas dam. I am currently working on a set of doors to cover a coal hopper car for Union Pacific Rail Road; this is to minimize coal dust loss. Also I just finished doing the Solidworks models for a new power swivel drilling tool for Basic Energy Systems. My last analysis job was a ring lifter for Trinity Industries. Job ended due to lack of work. Great place to work. Expro Americas LLC January 2013 to June 2014
I designed the mechanical components and integrated the electronics into the Expro Hawkeye 5 digital down-hole camera system. Additionally I have designed two timer systems for the Kinley Baseline and Mega Data caliper tools so they can operate inside integral joint tubing/casing systems. I am currently designing the tandem microscopic caliper to get 30 feeler arms into small diameter tubing. The caliper systems will soon have the ability to include a new digital temperature/ pressure/flow module. Kinley tools are mechanical in design to allow them to work in geothermal wells. Other caliper tools fail; due to temperature limitations in their electronics. Hawkeye 5 project concluded; moved on due to lack of work. Blanton Oil Tools, Inc. Owner 2009 to 2015 I designed down-hole tools and drilling service tools for customers. Designs include steerable drilling assemblies that interface with MWD and mud motor controls. The objective was to move sensors to the bit for advanced sensing. The other tool designed was a production tool that performed the function of a casing gas lift swab. Wire-line equipment was designed to specifications for emergency means to retrieve tools. All designs performed in SolidWorks 2010-2012 and Cosmos Static and Cosmos Pro. T&T Engineering Services, Inc. (Direct) Project Hydraulics engineer November 2008 to June 2009 Project Cancelled Lack of Sales/Coordination Senior Hydraulic Engineer, designing a large hydraulics control system to raise and lower a seventy foot boom structure from horizontal to vertical for pipe handling purposes. The Pipe Boss system is a fully mobile rig designed to perform pipe handling for a variety of rig sizes, onshore and offshore. This system delivers up to 30 kips of pipe into the derrick every minute. My duties were to design and implement a control system that operates this rig. My design included AutoCAD schematics, a complete excel based bill of materials, and numerous excel based analysis models of every aspect of a hydraulic system and its associated performance. The hydraulic cylinder stability analysis was performed, and the total system stability analysis was planned. The PLC truth table was completed when the funding ended. I verified the structural properties of the members that were being moved by hydraulic cylinder forces for stability purposes. Solidworks was used to design the structural details and the hydraulic system components and placement of these components into the trailered skid. I also planned the electrical cabinets and their components. All analyses for thermal, power,
flow, and energy distribution were completed by me. Lay off due to lack of sales. Halliburton (Contract) Project Engineer for Telescoping Joints April 2006 to March 2007 I designed the compaction joints for reservoir compaction for Reliance Ind. Ltd. The compaction joints were designed for 13.38 and 10.75 inch casing sizes. I designed the test fixtures for the factory acceptance testing. The designs included the DTS cable for reservoir monitoring via fiber optic cables or electric cable to fixed sensors. All designs are currently being manufactured for delivery in June through August of 2007. During the drafting phase of the tool I worked Engineering change orders on wire-line tools and regular merchandize. Patent applied for by Halliburton. Contract ended at 51 weeks. Unidynamics, Inc. (Contract) February 2005 to October 2005 Design and FEA analysis of various military equipment including: Littoral Combat Ship Extending Beam design in SolidWorks and Algor FEA analysis were performed by me. For size purposes, the extending beams had dual trolleys on each with winches to raise the remote submarine and to handle loads up to Sea State 5. Also The LCS Bridge Beam design and analysis, Titanium Winch FEA analysis, Kennicott Ship bridge rollers Design and FEA, Bechtel Crane Catwalk using Unistrutt flooring and attachments were implemented with my design and analysis. I was mentoring the draftsmen in Solidworks techniques to provide department consistency. Company disbanded. Halliburton Corp. (Contract) Mechanical Engineer Snubbing January 2004 to January 2005 I designed multiple hydraulic cylinders for the hydraulic work-over systems using Solidworks and Designspace. I also designed a telescoping caged ladder to reach heights of 80 feet. I designed a telescoping staircase system to reach 80 feet. Both systems were in compliance with OSHA standards. I completed extensive engineering calculations and documentation for all projects. I performed field trips to verify manufacturing of projects including test verification of cylinder construction. Contract ended at 51 weeks.
