The life expectancy of a PTO shaft including components such as yokes, u-joints and tubes depend on many factors which cannot be controlled by Les Machineries Pronovost inc. Factors directly affecting the life of a PTO shaft : - Too steep a working angle. - Angle of the snowblower to the ground. - Frequency of lubrication and grease type used. - Intermittent or continuous work cycle. - Proper usage by the operator. - Speed of rotation. Where one or more of the above mentionned situations applies, our snowblower price list proposes, as options, different solutions : - Bigger PTO shafts. - PTO shafts with Multilobe Tubes. - Installation of the snowblower at 000 RPM instead of 540 RPM with the use of a reduction gear box to decrease the angle of the PTO shaft and / or decrease the load on the tractor's transmission.
