SAFETY INFORMATION Please read and understand this entire manual before attempting to assemble, operate or install the product. WARNING: Failure to disconnect the power supply prior to installation may result in serious injury or death. Some metal parts in the fixture may have sharp edges. To prevent cuts and scrapes, wear gloves when handling parts. Account for small parts and destroy packing material, as these may be hazardous to children. Use flashlight or alternate light source to light work area during installation. Assistance may be required to support fixture during installation. To reduce the risk of fire, electrical shock, or personal injury, wire connectors provided with this fan are designed to accept only one 12-gauge house wire and two lead wires from the fan. If your house wire is larger than 12 gauges and there is more than one house wire to connect to the two fan lead wires, consult an electrician for the proper size wire connectors to use. CAUTION: e sure the outlet box is properly grounded or that a ground (green or bare) wire is present. Carefully check all screws, bolts and nuts to ensure they are secured. PREPARATION efore beginning installation of product, make sure all parts are present. Compare parts with package contents list and hardware contents list. If any part is missing or damaged, do not attempt to assemble, install or operate the product. Estimated Assembly Time: 35 minutes Tools Required for Assembly (not included): Flathead screwdriver, Phillips screwdriver, Pliers, Wire cutters, Electrical tape and Safety goggles. Helpful Tools (not included): Wire strippers, Wire cutters, Safety glasses and Step ladder. 3
ASSEMLY INSTRUCTIONS 1. Shut off power at the circuit breaker or fuse panel before removing the old fixture. 1 DANGER: Failure to disconnect the power supply prior to installation may result in serious injury or death. ON ON OFF OFF 2. If necessary, remove the old fixture. To better assist you later in the wiring process, consider making a sketch of how the fixture is wired before you remove it. 2 3. Attach the mounting bracket (C) to the outlet box (not included) using the long mounting screws (AA). Then, remove the cap nuts () and rubber washers () from the short mounting screws (). Note: Short mounting screws () should protrude out from the outlet box and the horizontal bar with short mounting screws () should be parallel to the horizon to ensure proper mounting. 3 AA Long Mounting x 2 x 2 C Cap Nut x 2 Rubber Washer x 2 AA 4
ASSEMLY INSTRUCTIONS 4. If necessary, strip 1/2 in. of insulation from the end of each supply wire. Twist the stripped ends of each strand of wire with pliers (not included). 4 5. Connect supply and fixture (A) wires according to the diagram and these steps: Connect the are wire from the fixture (A) to the are/green (ground) supply wire. Connect the lack wire from the fixture (A) to the lack (hot) supply wire. Connect the White wire from the fixture (A) to the White (common) supply wire. Secure all wiring connections together with wire connectors (CC). Loop the are wire from the fixture (A) around the ground screw on the mounting bracket (C). Tighten screw to hold bare wire in place. 5 lack White are/green Note: If house wires are different colors than referred to above, stop immediately. Tape the wire connectors (CC) to the wire using electrical tape (not included). Turn the spliced/taped wires upward and gently push the wires and wire connectors (CC) into the outlet box. 6 CC WARNING: Ensure no bare wire or wire strands are visible after making connections. ASSEMLY INSTRUCTIONS 7. Turn the ring () clockwise on the threaded rod preassembled on the fixture (A). 7 A 8. Mount the fixture (A) onto the short mounting screws () and secure with rubber washers () and cap nuts (). 8 A x 2 Cap Nut x 2 Rubber Washer x 2 9. Install light bulb (not included). Use a 60-watt max. medium-base E26 incandescent bulb or a 13-watt max. medium-base E26 CFL. 9 6
CARE AND MAINTENANCE Important: Shut off the main power supply before you begin any maintenance tasks. Periodically clean the fixture using a mild, non-abrasive glass cleaner and soft cloth. Do NOT use solvents or cleaners containing abrasive agents and do not spray liquid cleaner directly onto the bulb or wiring. TROULESHOOTING PROLEM POSSILE CAUSE CORRECTIVE ACTION 1. ulb is faulty or burned out. 1. Replace with new bulb. The fixture doesn t light. 2. The power is off or the fuse is blown. 3. There is a faulty wire connection. 4. The switch is bad. 2. Turn the power on or check the fuse. 3. Turn the power off and check all wire connections. 4. Test or replace the switch. The fuse blows or circuit breaker trips when light is turned on. There are wires crossed or the power wire is grounded out. Turn the power off and check all wiring connections. Fixture does not fit flush against the mounting surface. Outlet box may not be mounted flush with the wall. Remove fixture and mounting bracket. Turn each short mounting screw to adjust the length of the screw protruding from the mounting bracket. LIMITED WARRANTY The manufacturer warrants all of its lighting fixtures against defects in materials and workmanship for three (3) years from the date of purchase. If within this period the product is found to be defective, take a copy of the bill of sale as a proof of purchase and the product in its original carton to the place of purchase. The manufacturer will, at its option, repair, replace or refund the purchase price to the consumer. All costs of installation and removal of the fixture is the responsibility of the consumer. This warranty does not cover fixtures becoming defective due to misuse, accidental damage or improper handling and/or installation and specifically excludes liability for direct, incidental or consequential damages. As some states do not allow exclusions of limitations on an implied warranty, the above exclusion and limitation may not apply.
