Entroy With people in mind
Entroy Pool access for everybody ARJO believes the benefits of hydrotherapy should be available to everybody. The new Entroy pool lift system makes this possible by providing pool access solutions for all levels of mobility. The Entroy concept offers sitting or recumbent patients a safe, integrated transfer and transport solution that covers the entire hydrotherapy cycle. An Entroy chair or stretcher fits on a chassis for patient transport and connects easily to the pool lift using the secure quick coupling system. A waterproof handset is used to control the pool lift, so the carer can operate the system either from the poolside or while in the pool. The transferable seat or stretcher and battery-powered lifting arm means no manual handling is necessary during pool transfers, and one attendant can manage the procedure. There is an electric-powered turning option that minimises physical effort during transfers and allows the nurse to focus full attention on the patient. Entroy is a truly flexible pool lift system that makes planning and installation easier. As the pool lift is floor-mounted and battery-driven, no external power source is required. It is compatible with all hydrotherapy pools. You can site it close to the side of existing pools, use it to replace an old hydraulic lift or plan it into new pool facilities. In fact, you can install it quickly and easily wherever it best serves your patients' hydrotherapy access needs. Hydrotherapy is within reach Entroy can provide access solutions for all patients to all types of hydrotherapy pool, including the Axona from ARJO (bottom left). One carer can safely manage pool access and exit routines for recumbent or sitting patients with the Entroy pool lift and transferable stretcher or chair. If a fixed Entroy pool lift chair is used, patients can transfer directly from a wheelchair or walker.
Transfer A transfer solution for the entire hydrotherapy cycle The Entroy system has been developed to offer a complete transport and transfer solution for all stages of the hydrotherapy cycle. The system can be supplied with a stretcher and/or chair that fits both a chassis and the pool lift, and transfers easily between the two. This means the patient can remain on the chair or stretcher during all transfers in the hydrotherapy cycle, enabling one carer to complete the whole sequence of manoeuvres without manual lifting. Entroy from start to finish 1. Collection/return: drive the Entroy chair or stretcher on its chassis to the bedside for a direct transfer made easy by battery-powered lifting of the chair or stretcher. 2. Transport: a smooth drive thanks to low-friction castors, and a secure comfortable ride due to safety features that eliminate the need for straps. 3. Showering or bathing: the seat or stretcher integrates with ARJO bathing and showering systems for efficient hygiene routines. 4. Docking: the quick coupling system ensures easy and safe connection of the chair to the pool lift. 5. Pool transfer: with the chair or stretcher now securely on the pool lift, the carer can use the handset to control the smooth transfer of the patient into the pool. Quick coupling how it works 1. After positioning the chassis, with chair or stretcher attached, for docking, raise the pool lift arm until its connector clicks in the cylinder. 2. The chair is now connected to both chassis and lift. To release the chair or stretcher from the chassis, pull the green knob (A). 3. The pool lift arm can now be raised with the chair or stretcher attached. When transferring the chair or stretcher back to the chassis, follow the above procedure in reverse and pull the red knob (B) instead. A B 1 2 3
1 Chair-chassis combination 2 3 Together with the pool lift, the Entroy chair and chassis ensures that sitting patients experience comfortable, safe transport and transfers throughout the hydrotherapy cycle. The contoured, submersible seat can be used for bathing, showering and hydrotherapy access, as it is transferable between the Entroy chassis and pool lift. The patient remains seated on the chair during all these procedures. Both chair and stretcher-chassis combinations are designed for safe transport without straps. The height-adjustable chair ensures ergonomic working postures and powered lifting eliminates manual transfers. 1. Keep going with 2 x power The quick-change battery system simply slot in the extra battery from the charger ensures the Entroy chair is always available for use. The battery also has double capacity. It actually is two in one! 2. Easy Seat Those patients with a greater degree of mobility are able to seat themselves without difficulty. 3 Handy brake Raising, lowering and central braking functions are controlled with a hand control, enabling the carer to stay close to the patient. 4 4. Ergo Grips The handlebar design gives the carer all-round control by enabling easy bed/pool side manoeuvring. It also enables a driving position where the carer is always close to the patient during transport. 5. Bedpan A removable bedpan can be fitted beneath the seat which alleviates problems for incontinent patients in transit. 5 6. Pedicure An optional leg rest makes podiatry care much easier. 6
1 Stretcher-chassis combination Using the Entroy stretcher-chassis combination with the pool lift provides recumbent patients with comfortable, safe transport and transfers during the entire hydrotherapy cycle. The submersible soft stretcher can be used for bathing, showering and hydrotherapy transfers. It connects quickly and safely to the pool lift. One carer can manage transport and transfers alone. 2 1. Collecting patient from bed The side-positioned pillar enables efficient sideways transfers from the bed. Adjust the height of the stretcher to rest on the bed, then roll the patient gently onto it. 2. Powered back rest The back rest of the Entroy stretcher has powered raising/lowering, thus eliminating the otherwise heavy task of back rest adjustments. Now the operation is performed at the touch of a button. To raise the back rest, just press the appropriate button on the hand set. To change the head end of the stretcher simply move the hook from one side to the other. 3 + 4. Power drive The power drive consists of a fifth wheel which assists the carer when driving the trolley forward, controlled via a push button in the driving handle. When the button is released, the wheel stops turning, but stays in contact with the ground for four seconds, making it easy to turn the stretcher around its own axis. This is particularly useful when making turns in corridors, into rooms, etc. 3 4 5. Security grip & Sideguard The patient feels safe and relaxed holding the security grip, and the triangular sideguard prevents the patient from falling off the stretcher. 6. Recline and relax The thigh-support cushion, multi-slot headrest and powered back rest can be adjusted for individual comfort. 5 6
Selecting your Entroy system The Entroy pool lift system can be customised to fit the specific needs of patients and enhance the working environment of therapists by choosing between the following options: Turning the pool lift arm manual or powered? Electric-powered turning minimises the physical demands on the therapist and enables those patients who are capable of transferring independently to do so. Entroy chair or stretcher? To use the Entroy chair, patients need to have torso stability. If this is lacking, the stretcher is necessary. It is vital that patients are able to maintain their functions for as long as possible, and consequently a patient who can sit on the Entroy chair should never be compelled by circumstances to use a stretcher. Use of the Entroy lift may therefore require the availability of both a chair and stretcher. Chair options: The alternatives are: a chair that is fixed to the lift arm, or a chair that is part of a transfer system that includes quick coupling and combination with a chassis for transport. Stretcher options: The Entroy stretcher is always part of a complete transfer system with quick coupling and chassis. The stretcher-chassis combination can be driven manually. Alternatively, a chassis with power-drive minimises the effort of driving. The power drive option also includes a powered backrest for the stretcher. A choice of accessories Storage chassis: to hold stretcher or chair when not in use. Bedpan: this can be an important asset for hygiene, especially at facilities where there is a relatively long distance between the pool and the patients' rooms, as patients often feel an urgent need to urinate after hydrotherapy sessions. Leg support: for use with the Entroy chair during podiatry routines. Product Information The Entroy pool lift by ARJO has been designed to make hydrotherapy accessible for people who cannot get in or out of conventional or free-standing pools using the stairs or ladder. The system includes the Entroy pool lift and the Entroy pool lift chair/stretcher with chassis, offering a complete transport and transfer solution for all stages of the hydrotherapy cycle. Lifting, lowering, turning and back rest adjustments on the stretcher are operated from a handset. Height of pool lift:........................... 2650 mm (excluding mounting frame) Length of arm:......................... 1080-1620 mm Stroke:.................................... 1600 mm Maximum load:............................... 160 kg Handset: Moving the lift up and down and turning is done from the handset, which is connected to the lift with a spiral cable. The handset is protected to class IPX6. Lift and turn function: The lifting/lowering movement is achieved using an actuator driven by a 24V DC motor and the turning by a 12V DC motor. Power supply: 24V, 4 Ah battery supplies the lift with power. The lift can complete approx. 15 bathing cycles (75 kg person) with a fully charged battery before it needs recharging. A bathing cycle consists of lifting the person 1000mm, turning the arm 180, lowering the person 1000mm, unloading the person and then lifting the unloaded arm out of the pool the same way in reverse order. Low battery level is indicated with a buzzer signal. Battery charging is achieved using a specially designed 24V charger from ARJO. More detailed information on the Entroy pool lift can be found in the Technical Guide Data and Installation. We reserve the right to make technical alterations. Putting your Entroy in place The Entroy is a floor-mounted pool lift. Usually, it can be bolted directly to the floor, but this depends on the design of the pool and building. In some cases embedment tubes may be required. If so, this will be indicated on the installation drawing and tender from ARJO. Note: if the Entroy is to replace a water-hydraulic pool lift from ARJO, the same embedment tube can be used. The length of the pool lift arm is site-specific and is determined in accordance with the installation drawing.
