2 INTERIOR PERMANENT MAGNET MOTOR BENEFITS Efficiency: The Interior Permanent Magnet (IPM) motors have a high peak efficiency inside a large operating window that gives 90%+ efficiency for much of working range. This enables applications to obtain 25%+ range increase over traditional brushed DC or Induction AC machines. Size: Incorporating permanent magnets into the motor design significantly increases its power density. This provides a motor that can be a 1/3 of the size of a traditional AC Induction machine, offering a wealth of packaging benefits to vehicle and machine manufacturers. Weight: The increase in power density results in a reduction in weight of up to 70% over traditional motor technologies. Rated Power: The unique stator and rotor design on the Ashwoods IPM motor provides a continuous power rating close to 75% of its peak power. INTEGRATED SOLUTIONS Alongside providing standalone electric motors, Ashwoods can offer fully integrated solutions, incorporating a range of both transmissions and hydraulic pumps. TRACTION DRIVE SYSTEMS Partnering with market leaders in the field of transmissions, Ashwoods can combine highly efficient motor technology with a range of transmissions to suit applications in utility vehicles, materials handling, AGVs, construction equipment and automotive vehicles. HYDRAULIC SYSTEMS Working closely with hydraulic pump manufacturers, Ashwoods can provide permanent magnet motors combined with a range of hydraulic pumps. Ashwoods can offer motor / pump combinations to suit applications in materials handling, AGVs, construction equipment and others.

200-33 200-50 200 RANGE The 200 range of motors is the standard production range of Interior Permanent Magnet (IPM) motors which are under 200mm in stator diameter and range from 33mm to 66mm in stator length to provide a range of torque and power outputs. This modular approach to motor design means the 200 range is well-suited to off-highway, materials handling, utility vehicles and construction applications alike. GENERATORS Building upon Ashwoods market leading permanent magnet motor technology, Ashwoods has brought innovative on-engine generator solutions to the market. The solutions offer huge advancements in ease of packaging, vehicle installation, and efficiency over best-in-class alternatives. Ashwoods offer two solutions, both of which can be delivered to the customer as either a standardized solution or optimized specifically for the customer s needs. Option 1: Directly coupled to engine crankshaft This is aimed at applications requiring a permanently coupled electric machine. This is ideal for vehicle applications requiring engine downsizing and/or engine boost functionality. Application dependent, this solution can also be sized to crank the engine, acting as a replacement to the starter motor. Option 2: Integrated centrifugal clutch This option is aimed at applications requiring the option to couple and decouple the motor from the engine. This allows vehicles to operate in an electric-only mode, permitting the decoupling of the motor from the engine and allowing the rotor to spin without using fuel. Inbuilt into this solution is a proprietary Ashwoods technology, replacing a traditional electro-mechanical clutch offering a reduction in cost, weight and size. CUSTOM MACHINES As well as producing a standard range of motors we, also provide custom machines specific to an OEMs requirements. This means we can operate at voltages between 24 700V and powers from 0.5kW 100kW. Whilst providing a custom motor performance we can also offer custom housings and mounting interfaces to suit the application.
