Product Portfolio Drill Bits PDC Bit Made of steel or tungsten carbide, the PDC bits are suitable for use on many different applications. DDS PDC bits are designed for optimized penetration rate. The cutting structure is carefully organised to minimize the energy needed to cut the rock. At a given power, this provides the highest penetration rate. Our bits can be fitted for directional application. Torque stabilization features will enhance toolface control to the directional driller. The high spiral provides a smooth torque transmission.
Product Portfolio Drill Bits Dual Bit Often, it is required to drill long non abrasive sections with a PDC bit. When hard and abrasive formation is encountered at the end of the run, it is then required to pull the used bit and finish up with a second bit (PDC or impreg). A dual cutting structure bit is fitted with PDC layout that will ensure a high performance drilling process of the non abrasive section. Once the abrasive part is reached, the PDC will wear out and the secondary cutting structure will help complete the run without the need for a second bit. A dual bit has all the benefit of a PDC bit combined with the additional benefits of the impreg. Strategically positioned, the impreg diamond distribution works in correlation with the PDC diamond distribution. Such a product can save a trip and reduce your drilling cost.
Product Portfolio Drill Bits Impregnated Bit Tercel provides both matrix and steel body impregnated bits. The steel version can be fitted with a micro core feature. All these features are patented technologies from DDS. Our impregnated design uses impreg blocks. This provides you with nice diamond distribution all along the bit profile. The matrix technology uses H2 furnace to lower the infiltration temperature in order to ensure an higher diamond integrity. On the steel body technology, the impreg blocks are brazed at 650 degc in the blades, much like a PDC bit. Doing this avoids high temperature (1000+ degc) infiltration of a matrix bit. The diamond grains are kept intact in the blocs. In addition, a steel body bit can be repaired as per a PDC bit. Using steel body technology, you can increase the diamond content in your bit. The steel being much more resilient and stronger than matrix, the blade height can be more important. Increase in diamond content can be as high as 100%.

Product Portfolio Drill Bits Microcore Bit (MCB) The Microcore Bit (MCB) is the latest Tercel drill bit technology innovation, resulting from an extended R&D program led in collaboration with TOTAL S.A. The MCB allows a small diameter core to be cut while drilling. The core is broken by the bit and carried to surface through the annulus along with the cuttings. In comparison to conventional drill bits, the MCB delivers significantly increased rates of penetration, from 15% to 25%, and produces higher quality cuttings to enhance formation evaluation. The MCB was developed by Diamant, which is leading further research and development for even more effective products. The Micro-core bit allows the generation of a micro-core of the formation being drilled in the center area of the bit, where the cutting structure is interrupted. This process occurs continuously as drilling progresses.
