Redi-Dek Mounting Instructions
Index Single wheel 56 CA chassis vary tremendously between Ford, GM, and Ram. When Reading redesigned the Redi-Dek, we made improvements to simplify the mounting process by developing mounting kits to adapt the Redi-Dek longsills to the different chassis. The kits allow the Redi-Dek to be bolted right to the mounting points of the chassis, no welding or modification of longsills is required. The mounting kits make mounting quicker and easier by providing chassis specific adapters that bolt right to the chassis and to the Redi-Dek. Dual Wheel
RDKG DW (Redi-Dek Gooseneck Dual Wheel) Mounting Instructions 1. Install the gooseneck hitch on the chassis frame. The hitch ball should be located approximately 1-4 forward of the CA. The hitch should be oriented so that the longer portion of the side plates are forward of the CA. Gooseneck hitch part #14900365 is for Ford chassis. Gooseneck hitch part #14900369 is for GM and Ram chassis. Gooseneck Hitch Chassis Frame Front 2. Drill four holes through each side of the gooseneck hitch and the chassis frame, using the holes in the hitch as a template. Install the provided 1/2 hardware to attach hitch to frame. Prior to drilling the chassis frame and installing the hardware, ensure there is no interference with any chassis components. 3. Install the rear bumper/receiver hitch on the chassis using the chassis specific holes indicated below. Ram Ford GM JKH 6/8/15
RDKG DW (Redi-Dek Gooseneck Dual Wheel) Mounting Instructions 4. Install the body on the chassis frame. Line up the holes in the longsill with the holes in the bumper bracket. There should be approximately 3 of cab clearance. 5. Install the provided 5/8 hardware in the three holes on each side of the body to attach the body to the bumper brackets. Aluma-Fill U-Bolt forward of spring shackle 5/8 Body to Bracket Hardware 6. For 9 bodies, install one U-bolt, on each side, forward of the CA, and forward of the spring shackle, to attach the body to the chassis frame. For 11 bodies, install two U-bolts, each side, forward of the front spring shackle. Shear plates may be used in place of u-bolts. 7. Install the provided Aluma-Fill fuel fill cup in the body side rail using the provided pop rivets. The roadside, rearmost fill position is fully cutout for this purpose. 8.
