The WCTV is a new mixed-use, multipurpose development that will include a new parking garage. Prior to building the new garage, access adjustments will be made to the existing BART parking garage and the North parking lot. During this time, there will be temporary closures of access roads and entrances to the existing garage and parking lots. The construction team has provided the attached information sheet, which details the area affected in Steps 1, 2 and 3. Initial work around the new passenger drop off area (Step 2 on the attached diagram) began on Monday, September 25 th. This area will be affected for approximately 8 weeks. During this time, the bus entrance to the site will continue to be from Ygnacio Valley Road with exit onto N. California Blvd. Recommendation: For information only. Financial Implications: None.

Walnut Creek Transit Village Walnut Creek Transit Village is a new mixed-use, multi-purpose development that will contain a 900+ stall parking garage for BART patrons plus apartments, shops, restaurants, public plazas, views of Mt. Diablo, and improved access to the BART station. Construction of the new parking garage at BART will begin in Summer 2017 featuring: 900+ parking stalls - 100 more than current capacity New bus facility New BART police station New passenger drop-off area Enhanced bike and pedestrian paths Artwork by Dan Corson After the garage is complete, construction will begin on retail and apartments. Retail will feature new eateries, enhanced pedestrian plazas, landscaping and public art. New apartments will provide housing that encourages transit use and supports carbon reduction. The project will enhance the surroundings of the BART station, providing better access and parking, improved services, and new housing opportunities. for more information or call the hotline at (925)262-2030.

Prior to building the new garage, access adjustments will be made to the existing BART parking garage and the North parking lot. The project will add 100 new parking spaces over existing capacity and improve access and safety for pedestrians, cyclists and buses. There will be no loss of parking during construction. Attendant assisted parking will be used to limit impacts to the public. Construction activities will occur in the following order: Step 1: Access Adjustments to Existing Garage The West Entrance will be expanded. Step 2: New Passenger Drop Off A new passenger drop off area will be constructed on the North side of the Existing Garage. Step 3: New Garage Construction on South Lot South Parking lot will be closed. Attended assisted parking will be provided within the existing parking garage at no additional charge.
