Intended Use The ROHO AGILITY Back System Direct Mount Hardware (AGILITY Direct Mount Hardware) is intended to attach compatible ROHO AGILITY Back Systems to Permobil power wheelchairs that have compatible Corpus seating and a weight limit that does not exceed 300 lbs. Compatible ROHO AGILITY Back Systems are: ROHO AGILITY Max Contour Back System, ROHO AGILITY Mid Contour Back System, ROHO AGILITY Minimum Contour Back System Contraindications: The AGILITY Direct Mount Hardware is NOT intended for use with other manufacturer s back systems or for attachment to wheelchairs other than those specified in the intended use statement. The AGILITY Direct Mount Hardware is NOT intended for use with ROHO AGILITY Laterals. The AGILITY Direct Mount Hardware is NOT intended for use with second generation or older Corpus seating. ROHO, Inc. recommends that a clinician, such as a doctor or therapist experienced in seating and positioning, be consulted to determine if a ROHO AGILITY Back System is appropriate for the individual s particular seating needs. Compatibility Wheelchair Configuration: A Permobil-authorized technician and/or a clinician should be consulted to evaluate compatibility, potential limitations or possible interference concerns specific to the AGILITY with Direct Mount Hardware and the wheelchair configuration. Important Safety Information - General Warnings: The AGILITY Direct Mount Hardware must be correctly sized to the AGILITY Back shell. Check daily to make sure that all hardware is fully tightened. Follow the instructions in this manual. Check daily for wear and breakage. DO NOT use the product if any part cannot be tightened or is broken. Periodically, the product should be thoroughly inspected by a Permobil-authorized technician. Altering the product or using any hardware or components other than those supplied by ROHO / Permobil and compatible with the product model may result in product damage or failure and may void the warranty. Testing or certification claims, including for flammability, may no longer apply to this device when it is combined with other products or materials. Check testing and certification claims for all products used in combination with this device. 0-6 Keep small hardware components out of the reach of children and any individuals who have a tendency to place inedible objects in their mouths. Swallowing or inhalation may lead to serious injury or death. IMMEDIATELY seek emergency medical assistance. Motor Vehicle Transportation Warnings: Failure to pay attention to these warnings could result in severe injury to the individual in the wheelchair or to others. Whenever possible, transfer out of your wheelchair installed with an AGILITY with Direct Mount Hardware and into a manufacturer-installed vehicle seat, and use the vehicle s crash-tested occupant restraint system. The AGILITY with Direct Mount Hardware must be correctly and securely installed on the wheelchair. Follow all provided instructions and warnings. Install an AGILITY with Direct Mount Hardware on a wheelchair so the individual is seated in an upright position and the wheelchair is facing forward during transportation in a motor vehicle. The AGILITY with Direct Mount Hardware has only been crash tested on a wheelchair in the forward-facing position per the test information provided in this operation manual. The AGILITY with Direct Mount Hardware must only be used with wheelchairs that comply with the performance requirements of ISO 7176-19 and that are installed, used and maintained according to the wheelchair manufacturer s instructions. The wheelchair with an AGILITY with Direct Mount Hardware must be used with an effective wheelchair securement system and a properly positioned, crashtested pelvic and shoulder-belt restraint, or Wheelchair Tiedown and Occupant Restraint System (WTORS), following the manufacturer s instructions. The top of an AGILITY should be positioned as close as possible to the top of the individual s shoulder to provide good support in the event of a crash. The distance between the top of the individual s shoulder and the top of the wheelchair back should not exceed 61/2 in. (16.5 cm). ALWAYS safely store AGILITY with the Direct Mount Hardware during transport to avoid damage. If the product has been involved in an accident during transport, see the Maintenance section in this manual. If the Direct Mount Hardware is removed from AGILITY and/or the wheelchair for transport, the height of the AGILITY on the wheelchair must be adjusted during reinstallation. See the height adjustment instructions in this manual. AGILITY with Direct Mount Hardware has been dynamically tested by a third-party testing facility for use in a motor vehicle and meets all applicable criteria for wheelchair seating systems proposed in Section 5.1 of ANSI/RESNA WC-4:2017 Section 20 Wheelchair Seating Systems for Use in Motor Vehicles. Quick Start Guide First: Read all safety information. Then: Install the AGILITY on the wheelchair using the Direct Mount Hardware. Make sure to adjust the height of the AGILITY and, if necessary, adjust the power recline limits. STOP: If the Direct Mount Hardware is NOT installed on the AGILITY, stop here and refer to Separately Purchased AGILITY - Installation of Direct Mount Hardware in this manual. Important Warnings: Read Before Installing Qualified To Perform Tasks The product should be installed, adjusted and removed by a Permobil-authorized technician or a clinician. If the technician or clinician is unable to perform any tasks in this manual, they should seek assistance by contacting their distributor or ROHO, Inc. Lock the Wheels The wheels on the wheelchair MUST be locked before installing, adjusting or removing the AGILITY and/or the Direct Mount Hardware from the wheelchair. Power Off the Wheelchair The wheelchair MUST be powered off before installing, adjusting or removing the AGILITY and/or the Direct Mount Hardware from the wheelchair. Tighten All Hardware If the hardware is not securely tightened, the AGILITY may shift up or down during operation, which may reduce or eliminate the product s benefits. After installation and adjustment is complete, and before operating the wheelchair, make sure all hardware is securely tightened. Refer to the recommended torque specifications. Dropping, Pinching, Crushing Risk The AGILITY with Direct Mount Hardware is heavy. To avoid injury, hold securely and use extreme caution when installing, adjusting, removing or otherwise handling the AGILITY with Direct Mount Hardware. Ask for assistance if needed. Confirm the Correct Height If AGILITY is removed from the wheelchair for any reason, it must be reattached at the prescribed height. Before removing the AGILITY, mark the height of the back shell (using tape or a marking pen) to ensure the product is correctly reinstalled. Follow all instructions in this manual to reattach the AGILITY to the Direct Mount Hardware and/or the wheelchair. Interference During Recline Interference during recline may result in: the AGILITY backrest slipping or instability; injury to the user; damage to the AGILITY or to accessories attached to the AGILITY; or damage to the wheelchair. Check for interference during recline when: 1) installing the AGILITY for the first time, 2) adding any accessories to the AGILITY, or 3) making any adjustments to the height of the AGILITY. For reprogramming or adjustments to the recline angle range, consult with a Permobil-authorized technician. Use the AGILITY Cover The AGILITY Cover should always be used with the AGILITY. Refer to the ROHO AGILITY Back System Operation Manual provided with the AGILITY. While installed on the wheelchair, the bottom handle of the AGILITY Cover should NOT hang down where it could become caught in the wheelchair components. The bottom handle should be attached to the cover with the hook and loop fastener strips or it should be tucked into the lower flap. Check Skin Frequently Skin/soft tissue breakdown can occur due to a number of factors, which vary by individual. Check skin frequently, at least once a day, especially those areas covering bony prominences. Redness, bruising, or darker areas (when compared to normal skin) may indicate superficial or deep tissue injury and needs to be addressed. If there is any discoloration to skin/soft tissue, STOP USE immediately. If the discoloration does not disappear within 30 minutes after disuse, immediately consult a healthcare professional. Center of Balance Attaching any object, including the AGILITY Direct Mount Hardware with or without the AGILITY, will add weight that may affect the wheelchair s center of balance. Check with a Permobil-authorized technician or a clinician to determine whether the wheelchair should be modified. Proceed with extreme caution if the AGILITY has been installed: The wheelchair s center of balance can significantly affect the stability, operation and safety of the wheelchair; if the wheelchair becomes unbalanced, injury to the user or damage to the wheelchair may result. 5

Installation On the Wheelchair Warnings: DO NOT perform any tasks without first reading and understanding all of the safety information and provided instructions. DO NOT remove or install the AGILITY while the individual is seated in the wheelchair. DROPPING, PINCHING, CRUSHING RISK: The AGILITY with Direct Mount Hardware is heavy.
