Using your hands, remove the Passenger s Side Knee Panel. CAUTION: Avoid using excessive force when removing the Passenger s Side Knee Panel to prevent damage. Page 9 of 29

Remove the Passenger s Side Cowl Cover. Remove 1 Nut. 10mm Socket, Extension, Nylon Panel Removal Tool Fig. 3-7 g. Dislodge the Passenger s Knee Airbag carefully. Remove 4 Bolts. CAUTION: Do not disconnect the Vehicle s Airbag Connector. Page 10 of 29

Remove 2 Bolts from the bottom of the Glove Box. Nylon Panel Removal Tool, 10mm Socket Fig. 3-10 j. Open the Glove Box Door, then remove 2 Bolt Covers. NOTE: Temporarily remove contents inside of Glove Box and ensure contents are put back in Fig. 6-1. k. Dislodge the Glove Box. Remove 2 Bolts. Page 11 of 29

NOTE: Ensure all RES Kit Contents are thoroughly inspected. a. Locate the Vehicle s 5P White Pre-Connector and remove the tape securing it. Utility Knife Fig. 4-2 b. Cut Small Foam Tape in Half. c. Use the Half Small Foam Tape to wrap the Vehicle s 5P Pre-Connector. Page 12 of 29

Yellow Sheet (Vehicle Side) Clear Sheet (RES ECU Side) RES ECU Fig. 5-1 Double-Sided Adhesive Tape Part Number Label 5. RES ECU Preparation and Installation. a. Remove the Clear Protective Sheet from the Double Sided Tape. b. Attach Double Sided Tape to the Part Number Label side of the RES ECU as shown. Apply the Clear Sheet side on the RES ECU. Attach adhesive tape on the part number label side of the RES ECU. Make sure not to cover the Part Number Label with the adhesive tape. CAUTION: Do not touch the adhesive surface. Utility Knife Fig. 5-2 c. Remove the Backing Sheet from the Waterproof Sheet. d. Attach Waterproof Sheet to one corner of the RES ECU near the connector as shown, then cut the excess Waterproof Sheet. CAUTION: Do not touch the adhesive surface. 0mm Fig. 5-3 e. Insert the RES ECU Bracket into the indicated Bracket Slots on the RES ECU. Ensure the Bracket is firmly attached to the ECU. Page 15 of 29

Fig. 5-4 f. Apply Large Foam Tape Piece to the RES ECU as shown. Ensure Large Foam Tape corners line up with the RES ECU Bracket Slot corner. Fig. 5-5 g. Turn over the Floor Carpet on the left side of the Passenger s Side Area. h. Pull back the Felt on the backside of the Floor Carpet as shown. Do not remove or cut off the Felt. Felt Floor Carpet Fig. 5-6 i. Connect the V4 Harness 24P White Connector to the RES ECU. Page 16 of 29

Fig. 5-7 j. Using the VDC approved cleaner and Cleaning Method, clean the area indicated on the left side of the Passenger s Lower Console area. k. Remove the Protective Sheet of the Double Sided Tape. l. Center the RES ECU Bracket to Vehicle s Bolt as shown. Then press the RES ECU firmly to the Vehicle. NOTE: Do not attempt to reposition the ECU once placed. Side Cutters Fig. 5-8 7 m. Run an Extra Large Wire Tie through the RES ECU s rectangular hole and behind the Vehicle Brace to secure it. NOTE: Do not tighten the Wire Tie, it should hang freely. Side Cutters Fig. 5-9 8 n. Secure the V4 Harness to the inner Vehicle Brace with 1 Wire Tie. NOTE: Do not use the front hole of the Vehicle Brace. Page 17 of 29

NOTE: When reinstalling Knee Airbag, make sure to torque the Bolts. 2 7 Torque: 12 N m (108 in lbf) VERIFY: That panels fit together properly, with no uneven gaps. Accessory Function Checks Close the hood, enter the vehicle and close all doors. Place the shift lever in the P (Park) position, set the parking brake and make sure the Vehicle is off. Perform 1 Press the remote control s lock button twice within 2 seconds, then press and hold the lock button for 3 seconds. 2 With the engine running, pull the hood release handle. NOTE: Wait 30 seconds before pulling the hood release handle for the Security Alarm to trigger. Look For The hazard lights flash after 3 seconds. The engine starts. The hazard lights flash repeatedly for 10 seconds. The engine stops. The hazard lights flash once. The security alarm triggers. Vehicle Appearance Check Perform After accessory installation and removal of protective cover(s), perform a visual inspection of the vehicle. Look For Ensure no damage (including scuffs and scratches) was caused during the installation process. (For PPO installations, refer to TMS Accessory Quality- Shipping Standard.) Page 27 of 29
