Coil packages, consisting of extra crossmembers between the mainbeams in the coil area, add additional support for coil hauling. LANDING GEAR The Great Dane Model 70 heavy-duty, twospeed landing gear is braced in two directions plus a horizontal 3" channel crossbrace for complete stability. The Great Dane cushion-foot sand shoe, featuring replaceable pads, is standard. These pads absorb shock reducing vertical stresses by as much as 50 percent. ALUMINUM OUTRIGGERS 2" square tube outriggers are securely attached to the lower mainbeam with specially designed fasteners. ALUMINUM CROSSMEMBERS pass through the steel mainbeams, and are fastened securely. RUB RAIL Sturdy rub rails of steel or aluminum protect the sides and rear of the trailer from scrapes and hard bumps. Rub rails are mounted to the stake pockets and are further reinforced with pipe spool spacers located between the stake pockets.

RUNNING GEAR THE STANDARD RUNNING GEAR IS A FIXED TANDEM WIDE-SPREAD, AIR-RIDE SUSPENSION. The most popular running gear configuration is a 10'1" spread axle with air-spring suspension. One of the axles can be on a slide, usually the front, adding even more versatility to meet bridge laws. A sliding tandem is available with spring or air-ride, as well as various spring suspensions. FLOORING Flooring is 1 1/8 thick RLT Apitong. Each floor board is a full length board, secured with two 5/16 x 2 self-tapping floor screws to each crossmember. Extruded aluminum flooring with two, three or four nail strips is available, or without nail strips. TOOL BOXES A complete line of toolboxes is available. WINCHES Winches can be mounted beneath or recessed into the side rails or on sliding tracks mounted to the under side of crossmembers.
