Its standard finish is a modern and sleek anodised aluminium. Glass or steel enclosures are also available. The Swallow DM Lift requires only a shallow 150mm deep pit and headroom of 2500mm for easy adaptation to new or existing homes. Goods & Services A range of dumb waiters, service lifts and goods lifts with carrying weights from 50kg to 1500kg, all of which will help our clients meet the requirements of the Manual Handling Regulations. Service Lifts Micro Lift This lift operates inside a rapidly erected structure-supported frame, which is easy to install and requires minimal builder s work. No separate motor room or load-bearing shaft is needed. Available for 50kg and 100kg - catering for every requirement from food, laundry and documents to beer crates, small trolleys and industrial equipment. The Micro Lift can also be used in private homes to ease the burden of manual handling problems. Trolley Lifts Available for 250kg or 300kg - ideal for lifting heavier loads such as beer barrels, sack barrows, large roll containers or washing machines. Disabled Access Products The Disability Discrimination Act affects us all. Swallow Lifts has a comprehensive range of products to help ensure that you comply with current legislation. A full range of systems to allow access to less able visitors and employees. The new Regulatory reform (Fire Safety) Order came into force in October 2006. Any business or premises owner failing to comply, faces serious legal consequences including hefty fines or, in the event of a fire related fatality, imprisonment. However, despite this threat a recent survey has revealed that 35% of businesses in England and Wales are unaware of how the new reform will affect them. Nearly 50% of respondents admitted they were uncertain as to how they go about making sure they are compliant. www.swallowlifts.co.uk The normal concept that, if you as a responsible person or owner/employer, can get a person to a refuge zone and wait for the Fire Service to evacuate them is now, in general, null and void. To date the Disability Discrimination Act has addressed less abled/disabled person's access to buildings but completely ignored their escape. The Lift Directive will state in future that all new Lift installations will have to include evacuation chairs for each floor in a building. Evacuation chairs are the most viable solution to the Escape issue Stair-Trac Portable Wheelchair Lift A portable wheelchair lift that attaches under most standard wheelchairs and can be used both indoors or outdoors. It allows an attendant to easily move a person in a wheelchair up and down stairways with the touch of a button. The Stair- Trac is an affordable access solution that is available immediately. This portable wheelchair lift is easy to load into vehicles using the optional loading ramp, and fits comfortably into the boot of most cars. Super-Trac The Super-Trac is a portable wheelchair platform lift that provides instant, affordable accessibility where stairways are a barrier. The unique platform design accommodates all types of wheelchairs including power, child, sports and conventional adult wheelchairs. The Super-Trac is easy to operate, robust and incorporates many safety features. Evacu-Trac Designed so that a small attendant can easily move a much larger passenger down the stairs, the Evacu-Trac is easily set up and ready for a passenger to transfer from their wheelchair to the comfortable sling seat. This evacuation chair has durable rubber tracks that firmly grip the stairs and the safety brake can stop the unit on the stairs if necessary. Swallow Lifts Support & Maintenance Swallow Lifts will provide fully comprehensive maintenance programmes and standard service agreements, subject to your requirements. It is a legal requirement to have your lift inspected twice a year by a qualified lift engineer. Every new lift should be serviced to provide you with optimal performance and reliability. Provided this is done, your lift should give you many years of good service.
