KYN28A-12 (GZS1) A.C Metalclad Removable Switchgear for Indoor Use --------The Leader in Switchgear Up to 12kV 1. The cabinet is set up with the parts made of by aluminum-coated zinc plates. 2. 1 General 1.1 Summary Type KYN28A-12 (GZS1) A.C Metalclad Removable Switchgear manufactured by Tianshui Changcheng Switchgear Factory (called the switchgear or the switchgear in the following) which is indoor power distributing equipment of 3-phase, A.C 50Hz system, is suitable to be used to receive and distribute the electric power of 3.6 ~ 12 kv power system, as well as to control, protect and monitor the circuit. The switchgear conforms to the standards of GB3906, DL404, IEC298 and etc. The switchgear is provided with called 5-prevention function, that is: Prevent the circuit-breaker from misoperation; Prevent the truck from being pushed and pulled on-load; Prevent the earthing switch from being closed while the switchgear is electrified; Prevent the switchgear from being electrified with the earthing switch being closed; Prevent entering electrified compartment. The switchgear can be equipped with type ZN63A (VS1) as well as imported type VD4 vacuum circuit breaker. 1.2 Service Conditions The switchgear can meet the requirement specified in the national standard GB11022 as well as the requirement of condensation and dirty grade II. 2 Technical parameter 2.1 Technical Parameter of the Switchgear The technical parameter of the switchgear is shown in table 1. 2.3 The Technical Parameter of Operating device The technical parameter of operating device is shown in table 3. The typical structure drawing of the switchgear is shown in Figure 3 and Figure 4. The enclosure and all partitions of each functional units are all made by aluminum-coated zinc plate. The degree of protection of the enclosure is IP4X, the degree of protection with the door of circuit-breaker compartment open is IP2X. The switchgear can be equipped with type ZN63A (VS1) vacuum circuit breaker, The switchgear can be arranged in double rows, that is, arranged in back-to-back or face-toface way. Because the switchgear can be installed and adjusted from the front, it can be installed against wall to save floor area as well as increase the safety of the switchgear and the flexibility for installation. 4.1 Enclosure and Partitions The enclosure and partitions of the switchgear is set up by aluminum-coated zinc plate which is machined and bent by NC machine, so the finished switchgears are provided with unity in size. The aluminum-coated zinc plate has excellent corrosion-proof and oxidationresistance function as well as high mechanical intensity, The switchgear is separated into circuit-breaker compartment, busbar compartment, cable compartment, and instrument compartment (LV compartment) by partitions. The enclosure for every unit is earthed reliably. KYN28A-12 (GZS1) 6

4.2 Truck The framework of truck is set up by thin steel plate through welding and riveting, the thin steel plate is processed by laser cutting machine. The truck can be divided into circuitbreaker truck, voltage transformer truck, measuring truck, and etc. the trucks with same specification can be interchanged. The truck has test position and service position inside the cabinet. The locking device is provided to every position in order to prevent the truck from being moved away from its position. The truck can not be removed unless the interlocking device being released. For example, the circuit-breaker truck can not be removed before the circuit-breaker opens. 4.3 Compartments 4.3.1 Circuit Breaker Compartment Special rail are located inside the circuit-breaker compartment for the truck to move and work in, the circuit-breaker can move between service position and test position in the rail. The shutter (14) is mounted on the rear wall of circuit-breaker compartment. The shutter (14) can open automatically during moving the truck from test position to service position, the shutter can close completely after moving the truck from service position to test position, which prevents the operators from touching the live parts. The truck can be operated with the cabinet door closed. Through the inspection window, the position of truck, the ON/OFF buttons (marking the circuit-breaker closing/opening) on the truck, ON/OFF mechanical position indicator can be observed as well as energy-stored/energy-released indicator can be observed clearly. 4.3.2 Busbar Compartment The busbar (5) is led from one switchgear to another, and fixed with branch busbar (3) and fixed contacts terminal box. All busbar can be sealed with thermal shrinkage insulation bushing in accordance with the requirement of users. Flat sub busbar is connected with fixed contact terminal box and main busbar by bolts without any other wire clips and insulators. The connecting bolts on the busbar can be enclosed with insulation bushing and cap. The busbar is fixed with busbar bushing (4) when passing through the partitions, which can prevent the default from extending to adjacent switchgear when internal arc appears, and increase the intensity of busbar. 4.3.3 Cable Compartment The current transformer (8) and earthing switch (9) can be mounted at the top, rear wall and front wall of the cable compartment, the surge arrester (11) can be mounted inside the cable compartment. The operator can enter the cabinet from front to mount the cable after the truck (16) and removable partition (18) being removed. Special cable connecting conductor is located in the cable compartment, the removable metal cable cover (21) with slot is located under the cable compartment, thereby, the cable connecting at site is made convenient. 4.3.4 LV Compartment Relays, protective elements, instruments, voltage indicators and secondary devices for special requirement can all be mounted in LV compartment. The control wires are placed in KYN28A-12 (GZS1) 9

the wire channel with enough area and closed with metal cover, the wire channel on the left side is designed for control wires, the wire channel for the secondary wire of the switchgear itself is located on the right side. 4.4 Interlocking Device The switchgear has reliable interlocking device, which can guarantee the safety of operators and the switchgear. It s function is as following: a) The truck can be moved from the test position to the service position only when the earthing switch is in open position. b) The circuit breaker can not be operated before the truck being locked in the test or the service position. c) The secondary plug can not be removed with the truck in the service position. d) The truck can not be moved from the test position to the service position with the earthing switch closed. e) The earthing switch can be operated only when the truck is in the test position. 4.5 Pressure Releasing Device The pressure releasing devices are designed in truck compartment, busbar compartment as well as cable compartment. When the air pressure inside the switchgear rises because of the internal fault arc appearing on the circuit-breaker or busbar, the special seal ring on the door can seal the front part of the cabinet, and the pressure releasing metal plate on the top can be opened automatically, thereby, the gas is given out and the pressure inside goes down, so the operators and the switchgear is in safety. 4.6 Interlocking between secondary plug and truck The secondary wires of the switchgear and truck are connected by secondary plug, the movable contacts of the secondary plug are connected with the truck by a nylon blowpipe, The secondary fixed contact holder is located on the top right of the truck compartment. The secondary plug can be pushed in and pulled out only when the truck is in the test position, on the other hand, the secondary plug is licked and can not be removed when the truck is in the service position. 4.7 Earthing Device The earthing copper plate (10mm x 40mm) is designed in the cable compartment, it can pass throng the neighboring switchgears and connected with the cabinet reliably. It is used for the parts to be directly earthed, because the cabinet is assembled by aluminum-coated zinc plate, the whole cabinet is earthed reliably, which makes the operators safe when they touch the enclosure. 5 Installation and Adjustment 5.1 Type of Foundation 5.1.1 The construction of foundation for installing the switchgears should conform to the Technical Specification for Electric Power Construction and Inspection. 5.1.2 The foundation for the switchgears should be cast for 2 times. For the first time, the foundation for the structural components used to install the switchgears such as angle steel, square steel or channel steel, should be cast; for the second time, the supplementary layer of concrete surface should be cast, the thickness of which is 60mm. The supplementary layer of concrete surface should be lower than the structural components used to install the switchgears for 1~3mm. 5.1.3 The foundation frame drawing is shown in Figure 5. 5.1.4 The foundation frame should be installed in order, the technical deviation for installing the foundation frame is 1mm/mm 2. 5.2 Installation of the Switchgear 5.2.1 The size of installing foundation and the installing size of the switchgear is shown in Figure 6 and Figure 7. 5.2.2 The operating corridor in front of the switchgears should be 2.5m when the switchgears are installed in single row; and the operating corridor between two rows of the switchgears should be 3m when the switchgears are installed in double rows. The installing drawing of switchgears installed face to face and against the wall is shown in Figure 8. 5.2.3 Move the switchgear to the specified position according to the requirement and drawings. If the switchgears in one roe is too many, the arrangement should begin an the center. KYN28A-12 (GZS1) 11

5.2.4 Special transporting tools, such as cranes and forks, are necessary, it is not permitted to use rollers and crowbars. 5.2.5 Pull the circuit breaker trucks out of the switchgears, and keep them appropriately. 5.2.6 Loosen the screws mounting the horizontal partition (18) under the circuit-breaker compartment, and remove the horizontal partition (18). 5.2.7 Loosen and remove the cable cover (21). 5.2.8 Remove the cover of the control wire channel on the left side of the switchgear, and the one on the right side. 5.2.9 Remove the hoisting plated and fastenings. 5.2.10 The rear cover of the switchgear and the cover of busbar compartment can be moved away for installing when the switchgear is installed from wall. 5.2.11 Install the switchgear on the foundation in accordance with specified sequence. The levelness in horizontal and vertical direction should not exceed 2mm. 5.2.12 After being combined (arranged) on the foundation, the switchgears should be connected with the foundation frame by foundation bolts or by welding. 6 Installation of Busbar The busbar in the switchgear are rectangular busbar and divided into sections, the busbar for switchgear with different current are only different from quantity and specification. The following should be complied with when installing the busbar. 6.1 Cleaning the busbar with soft cloth that is clean and dry, check whether there is damage on the insulating bushing, apply conductive paste or neutral vaseline on the connecting position of busbar. 6.2 Install the busbar in sequence, connect the sections of busbars and corresponding sub busbar together, insert proper pads and then screw down with bolts.
