No one allowed in pits without a pit pass. 2. All pit crew members must be 14 years old in pits. People with pit passes must sign insurance waiver. 3. Absolutely NO alcoholic beverages in the pit area. Any possession of alcoholic beverages in the pit area will result in loss of pit pass with no refund along with removal from the pit area. 4. 16 18 year olds must have a valid driver s license and a parental or legal guardian must sign a form in person or bring it notarized when registering. 5. All drivers are required to wear pants and shirts during competition. NO shorts are allowed for drivers. Approved safety helmets and seat belts are required. Eye protection, long sleeve shirts and fire protective clothing is recommended. 6. Men s Club reserves the right to approve, reject, or re-inspect any and all entries at the event at any time. Mandatory re-inspections for all cars placing. Any alterations after inspections will be cause for disqualification. 7. NO using driver s door as a shield. 8. Absolutely no hitting on the driver s door will be permitted. Judge s decision is final. Any door that comes open during the event will result in disqualification. 9. No getting out of car or removing of helmet in car unless otherwise instructed by an official. 10. No sandbagging or holding. You will get one warning and the second will result in disqualification. It will be taken seriously. 11. Rollovers may result in drivers disqualification at the discretion of the officials. 12. Any reckless driving in the pits will result in disqualification.
13. Any vehicle leaking fuel will be disqualified. 14. Men s Club will not be responsible for any vehicle or its components while on the grounds. These cars are the responsibility of the drivers and their owners. All cars left at the site the following day will be sold for junk. 15. We may or may not run heats, depending on number of cars. 16. Vehicle must have secured DOT approved seat belts. A 2.5 dry chemical fire extinguisher inside the car within the driver s reach is highly recommended. 17. ABSOLUTELY NO CHILDREN ALLOWED IN PITS. 18. Drivers and pit crew members MUST follow all stated rules. Any misconduct or breaking of rules by the driver or member of his/her pit crew will result in disqualification. Any driver or pit crew member fighting, arguing, or demonstrating unsportsmanlike behavior will also be disqualified. NO drugs or alcohol in the pit area. Any driver or pit crew member believed to be under the influence of drugs or alcohol before or during the event will be disqualified and prohibited from participating in any future events. Driver and pit crew members fees will NOT be returned in the event of disqualification. 19. NO two-way radios to be used by drivers. 20. You can use any tire on vehicle. 21. Questions, clarifications, and rules for the derby will be covered at the MANDATORY driver s meeting.
RULES FOR ALL CARS: 1. Car Stripping: a. All glass, outside hardware, etc. must be removed. NO glass left in doors. b. NO flammable materials such as carpet, upholstery, or headliners to be left in cars. Judges discretion. 2. Car Preparation: a. Front seat must be securely mounted (not reinforced or bolted to frame) b. Must have seat belts. c. Must have operating brakes. Original equipment only (no auxiliary master cynlinder) d. NO adding or weigh tor reinforcing, unless specified. e. NO buffing, grinding, undercoating or painting of frames (no frame forming on humps) f. All objects attached to the outside of car must be securely fastened and meet judge s approval. g. Cars can be decorated in any manner in good taste. NO obscene or offensive materials will be allowed. h. If you provide number it must be on the driver s door and legible. i. Patching holes is for safety NO REINFORECEMENT. The only holes you will be allowed to fix or where you will be allowed to fix are where you put your feet, battery or gas tank. Sheet metal only 2 past rust. There will be no other body or frame patching. j. Two vertical steel bars MUST run from the roof of the car to the body (not the hood) in front of the driver. Nylon racing type window nets are strongly recommended. MUST be able to remove quickly in case of emergency. We DO NOT recommend you to cover driver s window with steel or mesh type material. If used, may be fastened in 4 spots with no more then 3/8 rod. k. Wagon tailgate must be in factory position or removed. Floor door to be removed. l. You must run a hood, hood to be in near original position with minimal space between it and cowl, and have a minimum of 10 hole over air cleaner or if exhaust not run through hood. m. Trunk lid quarter panels must remain in stock location. Folding them over onto the trunk led is not allowed. Only trunk lid can be. It must remain 100% in stock location. Body panels must remain in original shape (no body shaping or forming). n. Transmission coolers are acceptable. Cooler may be mounted inside of car. All lines traveling inside of driver s compartment must be metal lines or high pressure hydraulic lines, and run through some form of another hose. Maximum total size of cooler 24 x 24 x 18 including mounts. o. Battery must be mounted in front seat and be secured fastened and covered. p. Radiators must be left in original position or taken out. NO auxiliary engine coolers, NO antifreeze, nylon straps, steel bands. Chain or wire may only be used to support radiator. q. You may pre-bend and/or notch the frame (no welding). r. Trailer hitch must be completely removed. s. NO welding of chain links to form a bar. t. Any car can run aftermarket, throttle pedal assembly.
1980 and NEWER STOCK CLASS CARS MUST REMAIN ABSOLUTELY STOCK UNLESS NOTED OTHERWISE IN THE RULES. If it is not in the rules, it does not mean you can do it. Official s decisions are final! 1. Headers, inverted manifolds and pipes are allowed. 2. Key switch can be converted to push button. Shifter can be switched from column to floor. 3. BODY MOUNT TO REMAIN AS IS, ABSOLUTELY NO ALTERING, TIGHTENING, REMOVAL, ETC. ALLOWED. Any tempering will be subject to disqualification. 4. Rear-ends must be stock and factory and gears may be welded. No rear-end swaps. 5. Cars can use any automotive bumper that was a factory bumper (any year) or 2 x 6 C-channel or square tube 1/4" thick and open ends only wide as wheel base. 6. May weld bumper shocks or chain bumper to car. Bumper shocks must remain in stock location, no hard nosing. 7. 15 tires and rims, 30 fully inflated height. 8. All suspension to be completely factory. No strengthening or altering, no spring spacers or clamps. No wiring of spring. 9. Steering column to be factory and not fastened to dash board. 10. Hood may be secured in four spots by chain or cable only. Absolutely no bolts in hood. 11. Trunk must be empty and free of dirt and debris. Trunk may be secured in 4 spots by chain or cable only. Absolutely no bolts in trunk. 12. Wheel walls may be cut up to 3 maximum to allow for tire clearance. No bolts to welding allowed. 13. All doors must be chained two chains per door maximum. 14. Any power train combination may be used. No built motors will be permitted in this class. 15. Stock type radiators must be used. 16. Can run dash and seat bars with door bars no more than 6 behind seat and at least 18 off floor (no kickers allowed). Not fastened to floor. 17. Stock drive shafts. NO SLIDERS. 18. No bolt on protection allowed. No chaining body to frame. 19. If you place you will be subject to a $350 buyout rule.
COMPACT CARS 1. Cars must be 105 wheel base or shorter. 2. Rules are the same as 1980 and newer stock with the following changes: a. Tires may be any size. b. Can fun floating cage around driver. It must be between 3 6 in diameter, be hollow and not more than 18 above floor boards. It must be securely bolted and chained to door or door post only and not have plates bigger than 6 x 6 on ends. c. Hood: 4 chains or bolts. d. Trunk lid: 4.48 chains or 4 bolts. Trunk lid must remain in stock position or removed. e. Original tank may be used if fuel pump is in it. Tank must be moved to back seat, securely fastened, protected, and covered judge s discretion. f. May do bumper swaps. Bumper brackets may be welded no more than 4 past original position. NO stuffing frame. g. Can have 2 1 rods through frame in front to hold hood with no more than 3 nuts. h. Can have any automotive bumper or homemade bumper maximum of 2 x 6, straight C- channel or square tube maximum of 1/4" thick and no wider than body on front only. No closed ends on bumpers. i. No full frame cars in compact class. j. All cars can have halo bar. MIDSIZE CARS 1. Cars must be 106 to 119 2. 4 and 6 cylinder only 3. Same rules as Compact Cars. a. Tires may be any size. b. Can fun floating cage around driver. It must be between 3 6 in diameter, be hollow and not more than 18 above floor boards. It must be securely bolted and chained to door or door post only and not have plates bigger than 6 x 6 on ends. c. Hood: 4 chains or bolts. d. Trunk lid: 4.48 chains or 4 bolts. Must be used car no fresh cars. 2. Car fitting any fair rules is legal driver must supply rules. 3. No double layer or plating sheet metal on body.
