The new brush holder requires a different brush. The new brushes will interrupt the current when the brush is worn out. BRUSHES: When replacing the brushes on any of the above listed models it is important to identify which brush is needed. The drawings below indicate the actual size of the two versions of brushes. Both old and new brushes are available as spare parts. Note: All K2300 with a Silver colored identification plate have the new brush holder and brushes. K2000 EL Red K2000 EL Mark II Blue K2300 EL Green Circuit breaker standard K2300 EL Silver Circuit breaker standard All Partner electric cut-off saws are wired in the same way, as per below description and illustration. 1. The main electric cord (12 gauge) has a white, black and a green lead. The white and black leads hook up to either terminal on the switch. The green lead is for the ground and is hooked up to the grounding tube. 2. The two black wires from the Field Coil hook up to one terminal of the switch. The single wire from the right side brush (or from the circuit breaker) hooks up to the second terminal of the switch. 3. Saws equipped with a Circuit Breaker have the breaker hooked up in line with the single wire from the right side brush. Install both wires from the field coil on the same switch terminal (#1) Circuit breaker used on some models The black and white wires from the cord can be installed on either terminal Install the wire from the right side brush (or circuit breaker) to the second terminal (#2) Note: All electric cut-off saws (120V) should operate on a 20 amp main circuit breaker (regardless of the 15 amp rating on the saw). Extension cords up to 50 feet, 15 meter, should be minimum 12 gauge. Longer extension cords should be minimum 10 gauge. Do not operate any electric tool on an inadequate generator. This may result in a damaged electric motor. Consult the generator manufacturers specifications. A Partner electric cut-off saw requires a generator capable of providing a minimum of 3000 Watt (3.0 kw) continuously.

The easiest way to obtain the correct spare part armature is to cross reference the number to the below list. Three digit number is a manufacturing date Six digit identification code.
