With its high performance and good quality of all details the Primus offers an excellent combination of professional plant protection and maximum economy especially for farms with just enough hectares to justify a trailed sprayer. The Primus is available with the 3 different tank volumes 2,400, 3,300 and 4,400 litres and booms from 15 to 33 metres. The Primus concept is based on the concentration on the most important features with a lower variety of variants and reasonable production costs without a loss of quality.

The high number of equipment alternatives enables to adapt the sprayer to the individual requirements of the farming enterprise, which makes it suitable for the comprehensive demands of an efficient, and durable plant protection under all conditions. The innovative tank with integrated clean water tank, the chemical inductor and circulation rinsing pipe as standard are the essential features of the LEMKEN Albatros basic equipment. Five different tank sizes from 2,200 to 6,200 litres and boom variants from 15 to 39 metres with different folding systems are the basis of the variable machine concept. TankControl, electro-hydraulic command, different suspension concepts as well as command terminals adapted to the requirements of different users are only some of the optional equipment available.

6 The most important Primus arguments Variable coupling Everything in the right place for more operation comfort The rigid drawbar with its flange plate enables a lot of different couplings. Not only hitch-type or clevis-type coupling is possible. Cushioned drawbar end pieces which significantly increase driving comfort are also available. With the adjustable towing ring (1) the coupling height of the Primus can be adapted quickly and comfortably to every tractor. 7 Primus practical advantages An easy to clean tank as smooth as glass 1 Practical detail solutions 2 1 The highly tearproof and inherently stable tank made from glass fibre reinforced plastic (GRP) forms the central part of the Primus. It can be reached comfortably via a large ladder and convinces by its smooth as glass interior surface which prevent deposits of spray liquid remains. Rotating stainless steel nozzles (1) provide very efficient interior tank cleaning. The number of hoses has been reduced to a minimum. Two obvious examples of practical details are the parking support (1) with its own transport position preventing needless crop damage while spraying and the 250 litres fresh water container (2) which is integrated into the easy to reach platform.

8 The most important Albatros arguments Coupling without compromises Fast attachment 1 Only the Albatros is equipped as standard with an universal drawbar. The drawbar with its pivotal point situated far below the tank offers one of most safe steering concepts especially on slopes, where optimal stability is essential. Many coupling equipment variants with different towing eyes, in hitch or clevis type coupling, optionally cushioned are natural for the Albatros. Another highlight of the universal drawbar is the hydraulic support, which convinces with its easy and quick operation as well as its convenient transport position. It is completely hidden in the drawbar and thus contributes to a smooth inferior surface of the implement. In addition the protected arrangement of the feed pumps in the y-shaped drawbar is only possible with this system.

9 Practical Albatros advantages Smooth as glass with GRP Circular rinsing pipe as standard The same super smooth GRP tank as the one of the Primus forms the centre part of the LEMKEN Albatros field sprayer. Innovative, practical and unique at the Albatros is the integration of the fresh water container into the tank. Due to this arrangement the stability of the walls and the whole sprayer is improved. Additionally it serves as a baffle wall. Professional plant protection means to apply spray liquid with the right pressure over the whole boom width from the first metre. That is why the Albatros is equipped as standard with a circular rinsing pipe that leads to the boom section actuators in the boom. To prevent deposits, the spray liquid continuously circulates in the circular rinsing pipe with complete spraying pressure.

10 Always clean and easy Chemical induction fast, safe and convenient Cleaning with filled tank Each field sprayer should be filled fast, safe and comfortably with spray liquid. The large volume chemical inductor of the Primus and Albatros sprayers fulfils this in the best way. Attached by a spring element it is easily folded from transport to working position and vice versa. A powerful rotation nozzle, effective canister rinsing with rotating stainless steel nozzle and an overlapping lid complete the excellent arrangement. Additionally the chemical inductor is specially designed with an edge dampener to prevent spray liquid from sticking. There s always not only a short time frame for the use of field sprayers because weather conditions always influence work. If spraying has to be interrupted for some time, all pipes and nozzles can be cleaned completely with fresh water. The exterior cleaning can also be done quickly and effectively on the field with the washing brush and a 15 metres hose.

11 The uncompromising concept Practical arrangement of control elements Reduction of remaining quantities the central bypass collecting pipe The logical and confusion-free arrangement of the control elements of all LEMKEN field sprayers features high quality of all components and the adjustment comfort of all functions. Each adjustment lever is easy to reach. This makes the left side of the Primus and Albatros a convenient control centre for the user. Consequent reduction of hoses leading to the tank helps to minimise the number of holes that have to be cut in the tank. Unique for the LEMKEN field sprayers is the bypass collection pipe that combines all pipes leading back to the tank.

16 The chassis flexible, stable and safe Axles for all track widths and high comfort Large ground clearance and big choice of tyres Compact and safe transport The Primus and Albatros field sprayers 20, 30 and 40 are equipped as standard with a rigid axle with 1.50 m and 1.80 m (by turning the wheel) track widths. A large axle with 2.30 m track width is available as option for these sprayers and standard equipment for Albatros 50 and 60. A pneumatic cushioned axle is available for all Primus and Albatros from 1.80 m track width which enables comfortable road transport. Perfect soil protection and efficient pest control are guaranteed for all LEMKEN field sprayers due to a large number of tyre variants. Plant protection in high grown crops is very demanding for pest control technology. The smooth interior surface, the wide choice of different tyre dimensions of the Primus and Albatros as well as professional mudguards with adjustable holders, provide maximum ground clearance and optimal field crop protection. Even on narrow field tracks safe road transport is always guaranteed, because the Primus and Albatros sprayers transport width doesn t exceed that of the tractor. The boom of the Primus and Albatros with their short and compact design is folded closed to the tank, so that even overhanging trees are no obstacle when a tractor fits in between.

17 First class High Tech Proven piston diaphragm pumps Electro-hydraulic basic equipment High quality components The piston diaphragm pumps are resistant against liquid fertilizer due to corrosion resistant materials. The Albatros pumps are as standard driven by a spur gear; a hydraulic pump drive is optionally available. LEMKEN offers the suitable pump for every tank size with performances between 1 x 250, 2 x 160 and 2 x 260 litres per minute. Due to the electro-hydraulic basic equipment all control functions are centralized in one operation element providing maximal user comfort. The electro-hydraulic equipment is placed in a separate box, which reduces the required hydraulic equipment to one single acting spool valve and a pressure-free backflow. All LEMKEN field sprayers are designed for long lifetime and excellent reliability due to only high quality materials and components, e.g. ball valves from stainless steel. Only quality without compromises can meet highest requirements.

18 The boom with profile The Z-profile torsion-free and protective Optimised central pendulum suspension The design of the Z-profile disables any torsion and as a special feature all pipes and boom section valves are protected within the boom frame. Only the Z-profile prevents the sprayer pipes from corrosion due to the arrangement inside the boom frame. The optimised central suspension that always leads the boom back to its centre position provides precise spray liquid application even with high working speeds. Due to the power transmission from one boom arm to the other via the centre the vibrations in driving direction are optimally cushioned.

19 Stable and reliable Precise working even on slopes Systematic folding To adapt the boom parallel to slopes, each boom is equipped as standard with a slope compensation device, which is commanded as standard with a toggle switch or as option with a potentiometer from the control unit in the tractor cabin. An electric motor moves the boom and thus shifts the centre of gravity down the slope. To additionally increase hectare performance LEMKEN offers a unique concept to enlarge the boom, an option that can be realised with a lot of boom widths due to the solid boom frame design.

20 Primus Everything under control The Teejet computer Controlling completely electronically The Primus field sprayer is equipped as standard with the Teejet 8444-E computer. It is optimally adapted to the control systems of the Primus and enables the driver to easily command all important functions. As soon as the spraying procedure starts, the large display shows the application quantity per hectare, the amount already sprayed, the system pressure, the driving speed and the size of the treated area. The Spraydos computer from the electronic specialist Müller is available as option for the Primus. It is always combined with Altec boom section actuators and the circulation rinsing pipe known from the Albatros. This enables to adapt the Primus to the demands of the farmer.

21 Albatros High Tech with comfort The Spraydos computer One ISO-Bus terminal for all functions The Müller Spraydos computer enables to electronically command the central-, boom section- and pressure control valves comfortably from the tractor seat. Combined with the circulation rinsing pipe it is standard equipment for the Albatros. In the field the user chooses the desired application quantity per hectare. Via the spraying pressure the computer adjusts the application quantity completely automatically proportional to the driven distance, which means also with changing driving speeds. With the Müller BASIC terminal it is possible to operate all functions of different implements with only one command unit featured by easy handling, a clear display and comfortable operation. The BASIC terminal corresponds to ISO and enables precision farming applications in combination with a DGPS receiver.
