4 Full Hydrostatic Steering And Heavy-Duty Steer Axle The advanced design of the hydrostatic steering system includes tapered roller bearings to support king pins and fixed-length tie rods with spherical end bearings, helping to increase reliability and reduce maintenance. A trunnionmounted steer axle articulates for enhanced stability and a smoother ride. Efficient Cooling System Helps To Protect Engine Components With its seven-blade suction fan mounted behind the radiator, the large-capacity cooling system helps to protect engine components against the high temperatures often associated with sustained operations in demanding environments. The large-diameter, doubleended steer cylinder is designed to be shielded from debris within the steer axle. Vacuum-Boosted Brakes For Smooth Braking Asbestos-free, shoe-type service brakes consist of rugged components designed for rigidity and long life. Selfenergizing and self-adjusting, they help to provide positive braking action with nominal foot pressure, helping to reduce operator fatigue. Vacuum-boosted service brakes require nominal foot pressure. 4

6 Robust, 94-Horsepower Diesel Engine With 305 cubic inches of displacement, the Mitsubishidesigned 6-cylinder engine delivers the high torque, low noise, and efficient fuel economy necessary to help boost travel and lift speeds and maximize uptime. A high-performance starting system helps ensure quick starts even in temperatures to -4 F. Durability is derived from deep-skirted, cast-iron cylinder blocks, and in-line, plunger-type fuel-injection pumps. Automatic-Shift Transmission Simplifies Operation For smooth acceleration and optimum productivity, twospeed countershaft transmissions feature automatic gear selection, precision inching, and high-stall torque converters suited to many challenging applications. Gears are designed to be automatically shifted up or down based on travel speed, so the forklift is not started in second gear. This helps limit premature wear on components. An easy-to-reach toggle switch locks the transmission in the lower gear for applications requiring manual speed control. 6

8 Access For Routine Service Gas-assist cylinders allow the hood to open easily for routine maintenance. Under the hood, major components can be accessed without the time-consuming use of tools. The air cleaner, dipsticks, and brake fluid reservoir are within easy reach, and a single bolt adjusts the fan belt. Good-Visibility Masts Designed for good visibility, masts feature widely spaced channels and strategically located cross members. Strong, small-diameter hydraulic cylinders and leaf-type chains minimize channel-to-channel obstructions. Operators can view their forks and surroundings without contorting their bodies excessively. Choose from Simplex and Triplex masts in a range of heights, with lift height capacities up to 197-inches. Each can provide fast lift and lowering speeds to help move more product per shift. A full-suspension seat helps to reduce fatigue.
