2 Boat Purchased in 2005; Custom-made by AIRIB; 5.3 m long; 883 hours engine runtime (as of 10/12/2017); 900 kg; Inflatable pontoon (rubber bladder) and pontoon cover (original replaced with new one in 2016); 3 mm aluminium hull; 5 mm transom; Very reliable, even in rough open sea conditions; Used for diving at Australian East and South coast (SA, TAS, NSW, QLD) exclusively, mostly NSW South coast, up to 15 km off-shore; Takes 6 divers and gear.

3 Off-set steering console (720 mm from port side; 120 mm from starboard side); Full-length grab rope either side, fed through 10 D-rings; 2 black pontoon rubber bladders (not shown) run along either side, enclosed by the yellow pontoon cover; Pontoon cover made from durable material with UVprotective coating; New pontoon cover fitted in 2016.

The club uses the extra 14mm rope for extra strength to prevent chafing.

50 Weak Points We have had a number of trailer bearing issues over the years, so they need due care; The boat floor (aluminium sheeting) has been buckled for many years. Over time, this has led to hair cracks in the floor sheet, which results in water leaking into the sub-floor airspace. As a result, maintenance had to be done on it a number of times (aluminium spot welds), but we still see some water in the hull after dive runs. We therefore drain the hull after each trip, using the drain hole.
