Technical data Drawbar eyes 18 Note: When fitting the trailer coupling the EU directive 89/173 and the relevant national regulations must be observed. The coupling must be fitted in accordance with the installation and operating instructions provided. If the installation of the trailer coupling changes the load values (e.g. permissible axle load, total weight, permissible vertical load) of the vehicle, the vehicle documents must be changed accordingly. 3 1. Fitting ROi850 B / 860 B / 873 B 1. Fitting The coupling is supplied in a ready-to-use condition. Observe the relevant regulations for installation The instructions of the vehicle manufacturer H Clearance for axial twisting of the coupling head x Fastening of the coupling with 4 hex nuts of quality 8.8 and selflocking nuts or mothers with a suitable locking device of quality 8 on a flat baseplate with the corresponding hole pattern 1 x Size of the nuts and bolts in accordance with the coupling size (see table) x Attention: Fit the bolt heads on the coupling head side in order not to impair the rotation of the coupling by 360h x Rotation of the coupling by 90 permissible Article no. 850/860/ Hole pattern Bolt size Tightening torque bolt set...b30 120x 55 M Nm B40 140x 80 M Nm B50 160x100 M Nm Member of JOST-World

Operation The legal regulations must be observed for hitching and unhitching. 2.1 Hitching 2 O.K. x Place the drawbar eye at the centre of the funnel. x Press the hand lever (H) upwards until it engages. x Release the brake on the front axle of the articulated drawbar trailer. x When connecting with a rigid drawbar trailer, the drawbar eye must be as close to the centre of the funnel as possible: Failure to observe this can lead to damage! x Reverse the tractor vehicle slowly Inspection: ATTENTION: After each hitching operation you must check that the coupling is in the hitching condition in accordance with the regulations. After hitching, the control pin must not project out of the control sleeve. Projecting control pin: incorrectly hitched, risk of accident! You may not drive with the trailer in this condition. (see Fig. 2) Remedy: stretch coupling (drive approx. 1 metre forwards, then backwards) then check again. 2.2 Unhitching x Secure the trailer against rolling away or extend support feet. x Open the coupling. x Move the tractor vehicle forwards. Note: During operation without a trailer, close the coupling with the hand lever to protect the lower sleeve against dirt. Caution: Do not reach into the funnel! Member of JOST-World 13
