Increasing yields and decreasing work management costs these are the objectives of modern farmers along with savings in the use of consumables, seeds, fertiliser and crop protection agents. Already, for many years in fact, DEUTZ-FAHR has been pursuing a consistent strategy to optimise the operational technology of its tractors. Even if the tractor and the attached implements are harmonised to each other in an ideal manner, it may happen that tracks or tram-lines are not absolutely parallel, maybe as a result of the weather, soil condition, topography and / or concentration of the driver. The consequences can be overlapping bouts or areas missed, resulting in unequal plant growth and thus loss in yield. Particularly in bad visibility, the satellitebased automatic steering guide (ASG) is a perfect addition, enabling accurate tractor / implement operating widths to be maintained; with this accuracy seed and chemicals can also be saved. The tractor travels accurately along its tracks, time after time, always precisely parallel to the first reference track. Simultaneously, in maintaining the track, is not possible to concentrate on all functions of spraying fi elds and the sowing machines. Thus, there is always a demand on the driver. Here, a track guiding system, whether optical or automatic, offers not only comfortable safety but relieves the driver and immediately helps to economize. Fields are cultivated effectively, seed sown accurately, fertiliser and chemicals applied without wastage, crops grow better and costs controlled. A selection of various solutions are offered. Option 1 the mechanical solution: Here, a mechanical drive for the steering wheel is easily and conveniently fi tted. It can also be transferred to another tractor at any time. Thus, several different tractors can be guided using one system. Option 2 the automatic steering can be integrated in the tractor's hydraulic steering system. The driver enters the operating width of the implement used by means of the userfriendly touchscreen; then he drives to the beginning of the requested track, marks the point, drives to the end of the track, enters another mark, and immediately the system starts calculating all other exactly parallel runs. Depending on the work to be carried out, the input control icons can be used to call default track patterns. The operator drives the tractor into the track, and Agrosky ASG takes over the steering. Shortly before the headland is reached, a signal is sounded, the driver turns the tractor around and the ASG is activated again. There cannot be anything easier. By means of the new auto-contour function, the driver can even enter individual winding tracks. In order to prevent the implement to drift off in hilly terrain, Agrosky AF Tracker ensures a precise guidance of the implement. The implement is guided safely in the tractor's tracks by using guiding discs which reach into the soil by up to 20 cm The GPS receiver and transmission dual-antenna is simply attached onto the cabin roof. The tractor position is measured in real-time by the control unit. Using the ground correction signal, the DEUTZ-FAHR Agrosky ASG attains a track precision of ± 2 cm.
