Inflate balloons to 7.5" and tie as close to the neck roll as possible. Insert the balloon placing the balloon neck against the GRIDZ plastic framework. By hiding the neck your GRIDZ panel looks good from both sides. When your design has an element such as a flower, insert a single 7.5" balloon with the neck facing out, and use the neck as an attachment point. Use cross inserts to divide each GRIDZ square into four smaller squares for more detailed designs. The lightweight design of GRIDZ also allows you to also hang them; use PVC at the top for stability. Some finished pieces shown have been enhanced with foam cutting tools and carved basic blocks & pieces of foam. Be careful when finishing with spray paint or spray glitter, as many colors can damage the foam. Hold the can at least inches away from the foam and spray very lightly. Allow time to dry before applying additional coats. You can also paint foam with a latex base paint from your local hardware store. To add sparkle, glitter can be applied to the wet paint, which acts like glue. We suggest testing paint on a scrap piece of foam, as different colors have different effects. Use extreme caution when using metallic colors, as they can cause the most damage to foam. Always use spray paint in a well ventilated area, and a mask is recommended. Floating Foam can be cut in most 2-D shapes. Note: Floating Foam works with 11" latex balloons or larger. Only the smaller pieces work with the 11" balloons. 16" latex balloons or larger work best. Floating quality depends on amount of finishing and size of the balloon. Do not use a 60/40 helium air inflator when using Floating Foam. Note: Floating Foam Pieces can be lightly finished. To much paint and/or glitter can weight down the balloon. We suggest finishing Floating Foam pieces with Design Master spray paint or spray glitter. Be careful when finishing with spray paint or spray glitter, as many colors can damage the foam. Hold the can at least inches away from the foam and spray very lightly.
