1 1.01 DESCRIPTION OF WORK PART 1 GENERAL FINISH HARDWARE A. Work under this section comprises of furnishing and installing the hardware specified herein and noted on the drawings for a complete and operational system. For any door or opening not mentioned in the following, furnish hardware of the same type as a similar opening. B. Items Include but are not limited to the following: 1. Hinges-Pivots 2. Flushbolts 3. Locksets and Cylinders 4. Exit Devices and Mullions 5. Push/Pull Plates 6. Closers 7. Kick/Mop and Protection Plates 8. Stops, Wall Bumpers, O.H. Controls and Silencers 9. 2 FINISH HARDWARE A. Hardware Schedules: Submit six [6] copies of the finish hardware schedule and three [3] copies of catalog cuts for each item to the Architect for approval. Approval will in no way relieve the Contractor of his obligations supply all hardware required for all openings whether specified or not. Use door references same as contract documents. Schedule shall be in the DHI vertical format listing each door opening, including the handing of the opening, door sizes, materials of door and frame. All hardware scheduled or required for the opening and the finish of the hardware. Use specification Heading numbers with any variations suffixed #.1, #.2, etc. Include any special mounting instructions for each item with the hardware schedule. For hardware sets with electrified hardware furnish Riser Diagrams, Elevation Diagrams and Point to Point Wiring Diagrams for each hardware set. Supply the Contractor with schedules within two [2] weeks from the date the purchase order is received. The supplier shall furnish the services of an Architectural Hardware Consultant (AHC) to be responsible for the hardware scheduling, keying and coordinating with other trades. The AHC shall be available to meet with the Owner and Architect to go over the functions of the hardware and the permanent keying requirements during normal business hours. B. Certification of Compliance: Submit any information necessary to indicate compliance to any or all of these specifications as required. C. Templates: Templates for finish hardware items shall be sent to the door and frame supplier within three [3] working days after receipt of approved schedule WARRANTY A. All finish hardware, shall be supplied with a one [1] year warranty against defects in materials and workmanship, commencing with their delivery to the original purchaser. B. T-Zone bored in lever locks shall carry a ten [10] year warranty. C. Heavy duty bored lever locks bi-directional and freewheeling (clutched) shall carry a seven [7] year warranty. D. Mortise locksets shall carry a ten [10] year warranty. E. Exit devices shall carry a five [5] year warranty. F. Door closer bodies shall carry a ten [10] year warranty FASTENERS PART 2 PRODUCTS A. Furnish with hardware all necessary screws, bolts and other fasteners of suitable size and type to anchor hardware in position for a long life under hard use. All hardware is to be installed with fasteners furnished by the hardware manufacturer. USE ONLY MANUFACTURER FURNISHED FASTENERS. USE OF ANY OTHER FASTENERS WILL VOID LABEL AND WARRANTY. B. Furnish fasteners where necessary with expansion shields, toggle bolts and other anchors according to the material to which the hardware is to be applied and the recommendation of the hardware manufacturer. ALL EXIT DEVICES, DOOR CLOSERS AND O.H. CONTROLS SHALL BE THRU BOLTED (TB or SNB) TO ALL WOOD AND METAL DOORS. Cast thresholds shall have cast on anchors; all other thresholds shall be fastened with stainless steel screws and anchors. C. Design of anchors shall harmonize with the hardware as to material and finish HINGES A. Provide five-knuckle, button tip, template butts with non-rising loose pins. Provide non-removable (NRP) and Safety Studs (SSF) for exterior out-swing doors as shown. B. Exterior out-swing doors shall have hinges of stainless steel or non-ferrous brass or bronze, as shown. Hinge pin and fasteners shall be of same material and finish as hinge leafs.

3 FINISH HARDWARE C. Interior doors shall have wrought steel hinges, polished and plated to match the specified finish. D. Provide wide throw hinges where required to clear casing and/or trim and to allow doors with magnetic hold opens to hold open a 90 0 or parallel to wall as detailed on drawings. E. Furnish three [3] hinges up to 90 inches in door height and one [1] additional for every 30 inches or fraction there of above 90 inches. Provide hinges 4 ½ in height for doors up to 36 in width and 5 in height for doors over 36 in width. F. Acceptable manufacturers and products: Manufacturers: HINGES LOCKS AND CYLINDERS EXIT DEVICES CLOSERS FLATGOODS WEATHER STRIP MCKINNEY EQUALS IVES AND HAGER SCHLAGE NO EQUALS VON DUPRIN NO EQUALS LCN NO EQUALS ROCKWOOD EQUALS IVES AND MCKINNEY PEMKO EQUALS NATIONAL GUARD AND MCKINNEY 2.03 LOCKSETS A. All locksets, latch sets and trim shall be of one of the manufacturers as hereafter listed and subject to compliance with the specification. B. Provide mortise locks with 1 throw stainless steel deadbolts with hardened steel rollers and ¾ stainless steel latch bolts. Locksets shall be reversible without taking the lock case apart. Lock case to be 12ga. Lock front to be 1/8 thick. Locks to meet or exceed the requirements of ANSI A156.13, 1000 Series, Operational Grade 1. C. Bored lever locks specified as such, to meet or exceed the requirements of ANSI A156.2, series 4000, Grade 1 or Grade 2, as shown in the hardware sets. D. All functions shall be exactly as listed in the individual hardware sets with no exceptions. E. Acceptable products subject to compliance with the above requirements: 2.04 KEYING A. All locks to be keyed to Owners, new Schlage D Everest Restricted GGMK System. All locks and cylinders will be provided with Large Format Removable Cores. During the construction Phase Temporary Construction Cores will be required. B. A meeting will be held with Owner, Contractor, and Hardware Supplier to determine the final keying schedule EXIT DEVICES A. All exit devices and trim shall be of one manufacturer as hereafter listed and in the hardware sets for continuity of design and consideration of the warranty. B. Exit devices to be UL listed for life safety. All exit devices for labeled fire doors shall have UL label for FIRE EXIT HARDWARE. All devices are to be mounted with thru bolts. All devices to conform to the NFPA-80, NFPA-101 and ANSI A117.1 requirements. C. All exit devices to be of a heavy duty, chassis mounting design with one-piece removable covers eliminating the necessity of removing the device from the door for standard maintenance. D. All trim to be thru bolted to the lock stile case. Lever design is to be the same as specified with the locksets.

4 FINISH HARDWARE E. Rail assemblies of all exit devices are to be of Brass or Bronze base material plated to standard architectural finishes or solid Stainless Steel. Painted or anodized rails will not be considered acceptable for heady duty usage on this project. F. Devices that incorporate rails less than.060 thick, fluid dampeners or hollow brass latchbolts are not acceptable CLOSERS A. All closers shall be heavy duty, surface mounted, hydraulic type with full rack and pinion construction. B. Size all closers at the time of installation in accordance with the manufacturers recommendations at the building site. C. All closers shall be the product of a single manufacturer. D. All closers shall have a full cover. E. The closers shall have adjustable spring power, which allows for closer sizing. Closers shall have separate tamper resistant, non-critical regulating screw valves for closing speed, latching speed and backcheck control as a standard feature. Closing speed, latching speed and backcheck valves are to be captivated to prevent unintentional removal of valve(s) MISCELLANEOUS HARDWARE A. Push Plates, Pull Plates, Kick Plates, Flush bolts, Stops, O.H. Stops and Holders, Lock Guards, Magnetic Holders, Power Supplies and Electric Strikes. B. Acceptable products subject to compliance: 1. Protection Plates, Push Plates and Pull Plates. Burns, McKinney*, Trimco. a. Kick Plates:.050 thick, 10 high x 2 LDW (Less than Door Width). Adjust width as required where used with edge guards and edge guard continuous hinges. b. Mop Plates:.050 thick, 4 high x 1 LDW (Less than Door Width). Adjust width as required where used with edge guards and edge guard continuous hinges. c. Armor Plates:.050 thick, 31 high x 2 LDW (Less than Door Width). Adjust width as required where used with edge guards and edge guard continuous hinges. d. Push Plates:.050 thick, 8 wide x 16 high. Adjust width and height as required where narrow stile doors are used. e. Pull Plates: Plate.050 thick, 4 wide x 16 high. Pull: 8 C to C x 3/4 diameter round pull. Pull shall be solid stock. Hollow or wrought pulls are not acceptable. Provide concealed mounting. 2. Wall and floor mount stops and holders: a. Wall Stops: Provide wrought wall stops. Provide appropriate anchor for wall condition where wall stops are scheduled. b. Floor Stops: Provide floor stops as scheduled. 3. O.H. Stops & Holders: Rixson, Corbin Russwin, Sargent. 4. Magnetic Holders: HES, Rixson, Sargent. 5. Power Supplies: HES, Rixson, Sargent, Securitron. 6. Electric Strikes: HES, Folger Adam, Securitron THRESHOLDS, SWEEPS AND WEATHERSTRIP A. Acceptable manufacturers subject to compliance: 1. McKinney* 2. Reese 3. Pemko 4. Hager*

5 FINISH HARDWARE FIRE AND SMOKE SEALS A. Seals for fire and smoke doors shall be provided under section SILENCERS A. Provide punch in silencers of pneumatic design for mounting to metal door frames. Silencers to meet the requirements of ANSI A Provide 3 each silencers for single doors and 2 each silencers for pairs of doors. Do not provide silencers for doors with weather seals or fire seals that mount on the stop face where silencers are mounted KEY CABINET A. Key cabinet to have hinged panel and pin tumbler lock in a surface mount wall unit. Key cabinet to have a two tag type system with a key loan register for the tracking of signed out keys. Size cabinet to hold keys for other locks in facility (freezers, fire alarms, machines, bleachers, etc..) and allow for 50% expansion of approved key system. Hardware supplier shall set up key cabinet, tag, mount and inventory keys. Acceptable manufacturers and products: MMF 2018 Series Acceptable Alternates Key Control Systems Inc. PM Moore Tel-Kee 2.12 FINISHES US26D, 626 US32D, 630 US28, 628 AL, 689 DULL CHROME STAINLESS STEEL ALUMINUM POWDER COATED ALUMINUM 2.13 PRIOR APPROVALS A. The Architect reserves the right to approve the products proposed in this specification. All requests for prior approval shall be made prior to bid by a minimum of tem [10] days and shall be in writing. All requests shall be accompanied by copies of the manufacturers brochures, technical data and a physical sample of each item if so required. See Section PART 3 EXECUTION 3.01 INSTALLATION A. Hardware is to be installed by experienced finish hardware installers only. B. Install hardware in accordance with the approved Finish Hardware schedule and per the manufacturers printed instructions. Pre-fit hardware before the door finish is applied; remove and install after the finish is completely dry.

6 FINISH HARDWARE C. Install and adjust hardware so that the parts operate smoothly and so that all doors latch, close tightly and do not rattle DELIVERY, STORAGE AND HANDLING A. Check hardware against the approved Finish Hardware schedule upon delivery. B. Store the hardware per manufacturers recommendations.
