4 Important notes (Only for use within the BMW trading organisation). Installation time is approx. 0.5 hours, which can vary according to the condition of the vehicle. Target Group: Target group for these installation instructions are technical personnel trained on BMW passenger cars. All maintenance, repair, installation and re-setting work on passenger cars should be carried out on own authority. All operations should be carried out with the aid of the current BMW - repair instruction manuals - maintenance manuals - work instructions in a logical sequence using the prescribed tools (special tools) whilst observing the applicable health and safety regulations. Safety instructions BMW accepts no liability for damage which occurs as a result of not following the work sequence and safety instructions. In addition, any warranty claim against BMW AG is extinguished in the event of improper fitting and handling which diverges from the fitting and operating instructions. Assembly notes Installation of the headlights is shown on the left headlight. Installation of headlight on the right-hand side should be carried out in mirror image. Required tools and auxiliary materials Phillips screwdrivers /4" reversible ratchet /4" extension /4" socket wrench insert SW 8 EN/8

Disassembly of original headlights To convert the vehicle to the new headlights, the old headlights on both sides must be completely dismantled.to do this, open the bonnet and pull out all connectors () from the headlights.then undo the two hexagon-head screws (). In vehicles with Xenon headlights, further connectors have to be taken out. F Unclip the moulding () inside.then press out the moulding () downwards out of the brackets () and slip out the hook (3). 3 F Undo the two upper screws () and remove from the vehicle the entire headlight insert () in the direction of the arrow towards the front. 6 . Change-over and installation of Facelift headlights Disassemble retaining plate () from the new headlight () and fit it in the vehicle. Before doing so, remove the old retaining plate from the vehicle. F EVA 4 Only for vehicles with Xenon headlights Remove control unit () including cable and connector from the old Xenon headlight and as shown, fit it to the new headlight (). Plug connector (3) on to the lamp (4) and close by turning in the direction of the arrow. Observe the correct cabling run! 3 F EVA Reassembly in the vehicle Install the headlights in the reverse sequence of disassembly. When the new headlights have been installed, these must be newly adjusted by a BMW service station. EN/0
